- The Isle of Wight Steam Railway held their annual steam gala with the theme for 2018 being "Island Ivatts". The event featured the railway's 3 Ivatt 2MT locomotives running over the 5.5 mile line from Smallbrook Junction to Wootton.
The event was the first time a tender engine had ever run on the Island, in the form of the line's own 46447, which is based at the East Somerset Railway despite being under the ownership of the IoWSR.
Locomotive lineup:
LMS Ivatt 2MT tank no. 41298
LMS Ivatt 2MT tank no. 41313
LMS Ivatt 2MT no. 46447 (visiting from Cranmore, East Somerset Railway)
The event also saw brief appearances from LSWR Adams O2 class W24 "Calbourne" and Andrew Barclay no.235 Diesel shunter making movements around Havenstreet, although these are not featured in this video.
All footage filmed on Monday 28th May 2018.

Great videos. Nice to see some different locations for IoW videos.
Thanks. Was glad to have Bluebell-Railway Hawks with me, he knew where to go!

Not many lines where the locos are about 40 years newer than the rolling stock!
Very true that.
