- This is it, the one to rule them all, a wavy flag power carved front AND BACK from Curly Maple and Walnut. To kick off Arbortech's Global Maker Fest 2021, I had been wanting to do this project for a while, and this was the perfect opportunity. I'll show you all the tools I used to create the flag, as well as give you tips and techniques along the way. I've poured a lot of myself into this project, I hope you find it entertaining, as well as learn some things along the way! Outstanding job and video! A beautiful piece of art that will be cherished no matter who wins it! You knocked this out of the park! 👍💪
Thanks a lot Tony, I appreciate it brother! 👊🏻
being from CANADA I would be very PROUD to display that awesome artwork !
Well thanks so much man! That’s one hell of a compliment!
Holy shit man you hand carved every single star?!? That’s amazing
Took FOREVER too! I couldn’t think of a better or quicker way to do it without a higher risk of screwing it up. 😂
@@TCTimberArt that fancy new cnc machine tho 😂😂😂
Bro, how are you not a UA-cam star with millions of subs?!? This has got to be one of the greatest pieces of wood art I’ve seen in quite some time! You are definitely a master of your craft, my guy….I hope you become as UA-cam popular as you deserve to be!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
I don't know how it has taken 3 years to see this video. Great job!
You took the wavy flag to another level!!
Thanks so much!
BEAUTIFUL / AMAZING ...SUPER IMPRESSIVE..I have watched the end of this video many times...watching it rotate and seeing the waves is too cool... I LOVE IT.... THANKS FOR ALL THE WORK AND RESPECT YOUR TALENT FRIEND 🙏
Thanks so much!
Absolutely beautiful! When I first saw it, I was like it was done with a CNC machine...but watched the video to see a hand carved masterpiece. The only thing that I would suggest for next time is adding stars on the back side so it can be viewed from both angles. Keep up the awesome works!
How the hell do you only have 330 subscribers?!?! Can’t wait for this channel to blow up. Glad I got here in the beginning. Niiiiiiiice work.
Thanks so much man! I sure hope it does. Next video will be hand carving a big business sign. 👍🏻
WOW!!! Excellent work Nick!!! This flag is AMAZING!! The tediously hand carved little stars were well worth it! You did knock it out of the park with this project & created an awesome video! NICE JOB NICK!!
Thanks Ma! Thanks for taking the time to watch it! Can’t believe I’m going to give this away! Haha
The Founding Fathers did not foresee the difficulty we would have carving all the stars in our flags!!! That was amazing!
They sure didn't! 😂 That's ok though. Thanks a lot!
I make waving flags also but I use 2x4s, nice soft pine and even that's time consuming. I can't imagine how long walnut would take me.
Beautiful curls, wrinkles and waves. Stunning effect with complementary stand. Thank you for sharing :-)
Thank you very much! 🙏🏻
Beautiful Job
Beautiful Flag! I love the way the flag waves! Great job!
You are very skilled at your craft. A true artist!!
I’m flabbergasted at how incredibly fucking awesome this is. Outstanding job brother.
Thanks bro, I really appreciate it!
Absolutely Gorgeous Flag Nick and an amazing Video great job Brother! You crushed it!
Hey thanks for watching Todd! Thank you, I’m really proud of that one! One of these days I’ll make myself one! Hahaha
Oh and make sure to hit that subscribe button! 😉
This looks so great! I like to see the carving on the edges of the back as well. I see so many of these wavy flags that are just flat on the back. I think the wavy edges really help sell the appearance of being a real flag. Thanks for the great content. Keep it up!
Thank you! Yeah they are all flat on the back, made of softwood, and painted or stained. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! Really proud of the project, but also the video. 👍🏻
This is simply amazing! Talent off the charts!
Hey thanks bro! Really proud of that one.
That is beautiful!
Thank You 🙏🏻
Great job Nick!
Thanks Bob! I appreciate the watch man! Hope your got your entries in!
Sure did!
Still king of flags! 💪.
Seriously amazing!!!! 👊🏽🛠👊🏽
Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it! 👊🏻
Beautiful piece of art, Nick!
Hey thanks a lot Bruce! I appreciate it👊🏻
Beautiful piece
Thank You
Wow!!! that is amazing! Great video.
Awesome job!
Thank You!
Outstanding work!
Thank you! 🙏🏻 I’m going to be sad to see this one go! Haha.
BEAUTIFULLY done my friend. May I ask what is the name of that tool you used to carve out the stars?
Thank you. For the stars I just used some chisels and a carving knife.
Imagine if you made the stars on the back side to beautiful
Yeah maybe next time, this was for an event....and I gave it away. Took 4 hours to carve the front ones, didnt have time to carve them on the back too.
Sick video dude!
Thanks Erin! I appreciate it! 🙌🏻
That is awesome, can I use your idea to make one?
Thank You. Yeah absolutely 👍🏻
Very nice ! You have a new subscriber
love it bro
Thanks man.
nice work man from fellow wood worker and fellow youtube creator
Thanks man. 👍🏻
Awesome work, I wonder how much weight you took off that thing in the carving
Thanks Mike! 👊🏻 Quite a bit dude, started out as a 3 &1/2” thick block. I should have weighed it! Good idea for next time.
Did you carve stars on both sides of the flag ?
No I didn't. It took 4 1/2 hours to do the one side, and that was enough for me, besides the time crunch to get the project and video done on time. Maybe if I make another one for myself instead of giving it away, I'll do both sides. 🤷🏻♂️😂
Love it
Thank You
I watch for the art of the enuendo
Hahaha!
What about the color of the stars?
The only way to have done it would have been to paint them....and I think that would have made it look worse.
What grinding disc are you using? (The bigger one)
They’re all listed and explained before, and while I use them right in the video. There are 2 “bigger ones”.
Hey hey!
Hey Buddy! Thanks for watching!
When you’re doing two sides shouldn’t you do stars on both sides?
Yeah maybe next time, this was for an event, and I gave it away. The front ones took 4 hours to carve by hand, I just didn't have time to do the back as well.
Looks great - what are your prices?
Thank you. That's a broad question, too many variables. Feel free to send me an email: tctimberart@gmail.com
You know a Dremel tool would have made short work on the stars.
@@rerod It may have been faster sure, but the stars wouldn't have been as clean cut, and points not as sharp. I've since got some better chisels that would cut time down as well.
Stupid good. Congrats.
Best one Ive seen. You need more subscribers compared to your work,
Thanks man, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I can’t make people watch, share, and subscribe. 🤷🏻♂️ That’d be neat though. Haha
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How much are those?
How much is what? Specifically?
@@TCTimberArt do you sell the flags?
@@dr.wisdom3282 Custom commissions only.
What would you charge for that flag, and how many hours did u have in it...
Just came across your video, very very excellent flag!! You are a truly fantastic artist. Two things, wear a mask so those shavings and dust doesn't go into your lungs (maybe you want to die, I don't know) and lose the dramatic theatrics - it sucks and doesn't do anything for you or your channel. Thank you again for such a fantastic looking flag.
Nice little 2 girls. You are great brother. I sent you a DM and email, take a peek? 🙏
Ya cuz who doesn’t have all this shit. 😂😂😂
@@trumpking4874 Thanks for your comment, glad you've got the time to spread such positivity. The video was to showcase the tools that are available from the company, what they do, and how to use them to create something unique. I guess you missed that part though.
Yeah it's cool but the wood was donated, buy all of it and then make waved on both sides.
Your right the wood was donated.......then I gave the flag away. What would be the difference even if I bought it? Still built and carved the same. 🤷🏻♂️. Thanks for the positive energy and comment. 👍🏻
No I don’t want to make anymore kids
how long it take you to carve out the stars hours
The stars took about 5 hours to carve out by hand. Those were one of the hardest parts.
@@TCTimberArt wow 5 hours the flag you made is def one of the nicest I've seen if not the nicest. Luckily I'm up above you so I don't have to do the stars just 1 big maple leaf in middle of canadian flag. I'm doing it a little dif im going to cut the leaf right out and fill it back with red epoxy and lights. I'm saying this cause I think your flag would look good with stars done same way with epoxy and lights.
@@ericluscombe3272 That would be cool, but I can't imagine how much more complicated that would make the flag. Hard enough to carve both sides, but to then hide lights and fill will epoxy on a not flat surface sounds like a nightmare! Haha Good luck with yours. 👍🏻
@@TCTimberArt thanks for destroying my idea lol i never thought about uneven surface thanks lol. Ill def let you know if i come up with something.
