I feel like everyone else is so much better at decisions than me - being able to pick a favourite of the year when I can't even pick a favourite each month 😂 ❄️
Always so nice to see Goblin Emperor love! One of my favorites too
🎄 Crystal, you handled everyone's favourites with such care. 🥰 Loved the video concept & execution - and found a few new books to add to my TBR. THANK YOU! 💐
The book that will definitely end up in the top 3 this year is A Dowry of Blood. I never expecte to love this book so much! 🎄🎄 I'm so ready for Christmas season 🎄🎄
I love J D Robb aka Nora Roberts. It’s a long running series, and imo, the first three are a must read to familiarize yourself with the futuristic world and characters. I love them!
I have quite a few books in the running and I just started my rereads of my favs for the year. Its the only way I can narrow it down and pick a favorite.
This was so interesting Crystal ! Thank you so much !
Great video, so many books added to my TBR🎄
So many books 📚 on my huge tbr list omg I need help I have just added a few more from the video love it 🥰
I have been having a great reading year so far. My top book hands down has to be Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I read the series and watched the show. All I cay is Jamie Frazier! Other top romances go to A.H Cunningham, "Out of Office, " Tia Williams, "A Love Song for Ricki Wilde, " Mariana Zapata. "All Rhodes Lead Here." Jessica Cage, " I accidentally summoned a demon boyfriend, " Brynne Weaver. "Butcher and Blackbird,". I dipped my toe into lots of good series as well. Night Huntress by Jeanine Frost, Ice Planet Barbarian's by Ruby Dixon and The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger. All Good Times. Happy Reading Crystal 💜💜💜
Awesome recs! The Invisible Life of ALR is one I’ve wanted to read for forever! But I am scarred 🙈 🎄
🎄 "Breeze Spells and Bridegrooms" by Sarah Wallace & S.O. Callahan is my favourite book of this year. I'm currently rereading it because the 2nd book is coming out on Nov 21st.
It's an indie historical fantasy queer romance. A Bridgerton-esq queer-normative Fae & human magical society. It can be considered as a series of standalones since every book will follow a different couple.
This book is a hug in a mug type of book. You've got the banter, the slow burn, then a wholesome heartwarming romance. I enjoyed it wholeheartedly. It stroke the itch for something autumnal cozy but also a healthy believable relationship with some very good representation. Highly highly recommended ❤
Loved this video, Crystal. I'm with everyone who loved the Abby Jimenez book. I also loved Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood. Contnuing my love theme, i loved that someone picked JD Robb because i love those books--great mysteries, great found family, great heroine. The invisible life...by VE Schwab has been on my tbr forever, and you have motivated me to read it. Looking forward to checking out some of the other books you mentioned as well. 🎄⛸️🥧
Looks like an array of top teir books!
Sone seriously good ones!
🎄I’ve read so much Lorraine Heath this year and they are almost all favorites, so I’m setting them aside for this. I think my favorite contemporary so far was King of Greed by Ana Huang and not including any Heath books, I think my favorite historical so far is Ashes in the Wind by Woodiwiss. I added The Right Move to my TBR this summer, but I may not get to it by the end of the year.
The thumbnail is so Christmasy❤
🌲best book of year is tough! Jade Legacy or When The Moon Hatched or The Striker!!
AGREEEEEE!!!
happy to have added to your tbr for once
I think you might be surprised by the JD Robb books. You might be put off by the fifty million books out already (😂😂) but you can just read the first one, which has a steamy romance and a HEA. Also a good romantic suspense, science fiction set in the future - kind of like Blade-Runner inspired. Great narration via audio😊.
Great selection ❤
🎄
🤶🎅I immediately added The Wrong Heart to my TBR. The premise reminds me of a Lurlene McDaniel book I read in junior high. I loved her books. This list was fun. I like seeing all the different books.
We need to do contemporary romance for a book club read! I'm so glad you liked this video!
🎄🎄
I really want to read Just For The Summer, the Frozen Fate trilogy,
My favorites this year have been Jump-Start by Bridget L. Rose, The Inside of a Rainbow by Bridget L. Rose,
A Man’s World by Grace Newman, P.S. You’re Intolerable by Julia Wolf,
Adjacent But Only Just by Nichole Van,
Broken Whispers by Neva Altaj, Redemption by Kenya Wright, and Requiem by Callie Hart 🎄
Re: MINISTRY OF TIME - SciFi with a Romantic element - If the cover leads you to think The Ministry of Time will be a rompy, tongue-in-cheek, campy good time - you'll be disappointed. Instead, the story is set in the present with supporting and various minor characters having done all the time travel. Much of the story is slow moving, mundane and introspective, exploring themes of colonialism/post-colonialism, trauma/trauma recovery/inherited trauma, racism, language, power expressed as who sets the narrative, political correctness, and so on. The plot picks up near the end, and it finishes on a bittersweet note (imo). I liked it a lot, once I adjusted to what it WAS instead of what I was expecting.
I think it would make an excellent book club book, as there's a lot to unpack and discuss if you want to engage fully with the text.
My favorite book of the year is The Women by Kristen Hannah. For romances, Don't Forget to Write by Sara Goodman Confino is high on my list. Also Funny Story by Emily Henry and This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan.
I think Hostage to Pleasure by Nalini Singh might just edge out the others. However, almost any book from the Psy-Changeling series could have been number one ❤
Ah i have GOT to continue with that series!

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask you this for so long, knowing that Jen from the book Refuge loves this series so much (multiple rereads as I rmember on her goodreads feed ^.^); why haven't you read a Diana Gabaldon until now?? ^.^ xoxo
@AeroPortJoga honestly I just haven't had any desire to at all lol. It's not even on my radar other than the fact it's a favorite of Jenn's.
@@crystalsbookishlife 😘 True, I never ever heard you mention this in any od your
tbr's anyway, was just curious bc Jen's video's made me put them on my tbr. As if I need such a long series with each book over 600pages 😭😭 LOL
