You would have to use a holding gel with it like Eco styler, and I would advise that you sit under a hooded dryer to insure that your hair is completely dry for the take down. Otherwise you hair will quickly shrink due to humidity . Curl activators LOVE to do that. I found that they are So good at a moisturizing, your hair doesn't want to become dry. My hair already takes a while to dry, but with this it stays moist for days, which is why its an excellent moisturizer esp for protective styling

A lady at work turned me on to this product, and I love love love it! This has made a huge difference in my natural hair journey. My hair is no longer dry, frizzy and hard. I can actually see my curl pattern using this gel!

Glycerin is sticky, especially in heavy doses... but it works!

They don't exist. But if you think about it, if the nature of curly has is to SHRINK, and curly hair tends to be dry, shouldn't curly heads focus on Moisture rather than if the hair shrinks. I mean when I protective style and twist and braid my hair, my hair shrinks. The ONLY way for me to SHOW my length is the straighten it, otherwise my full length potential is never represented with twist outs, braids outs, even on stretched hair. So my focus is moisture ALWAYS

Thank you sis. Yea it doesnt give any hold so I would use a eco styler gel if I wanted some hold. But to be honest I don't like wearing my hair out, so its not often that I use that combo. This product will keep the hair very soft and moisturized, but for styles you will get a lot of shrikage with it once you remove the braids or twists.
My makeup is always changing but Im rocking Loreal . I filmed a tutorial for the look as well. Just have to edit it .

She's correct about this product, it is very moisturizing. I use it in my wash n go, apply leave in, Hawaiian silky, then my gel. Leaves shiny, moist hair that is touchable. Love it!

Why didn't I try this years ago when she first told us about it?? Jumped out of the shower realizing I had no conditioner..ran to the beauty supply store with shower cap and towel..they understood...remembered this video and got the Applecider Hawaiian conditioner and this moisturizing gel...omg!! Still amazing in 2018! Lol...come on back Africanexport, come on back!!

I love this product, I've been using it for 20+ years. I live in the South, its great for those of us that have frizzy hair. It keeps the curls and actually makes my hair curlier.

Typically that is what I will do . Ive been experimenting with oil rinsing, and I love what it does for my hair .

Love your videos. I'm 67 and going back to the natural hair. I have been using SCurl activator, it's nice, but I will try the Hawaiian silky. I used it back in the day when I had the Hawaiian silky curl, lol.

The clear is sticky, but the peach color is not sticky. Been using this product for years.

Thank u so much for giving your "secret" product. I have the same hair texture and after washing my hair would be dry and I could never find a leave in moisturizer to make and to keep my hair soft. I tried this for my protective style under a wig and my hair is still feeling fabulous after 7 days. I just took a twist out to see how it feels and can't believe it. This is definitely a keeper for me.

Love this stuff! Seriously, unless you use a relaxer or texturizer can't change your hair type; but this activator defines what you already have. This keeps my dryness and tangles to a minimum which reduces breakage. I highly recommend it! Thanks AfricanExport!

Tried it n I must say I love it....however, did a twistout but b4 I cud step outside...my hair turned into pure SOFT N MOISTURIZED FLUFF! No hold. But combined with some eco styler. Yes man!!! Love the product n thank u so much for sharing. Hair loves glycerin. Gotta stop fighting it n embrace it. No more product junkie stuff for me.

It does help with styling, I typically twist on detangled hair , but then product does aid with slip.

Think about it... our hair thrived as children with these basic household items ... shampoo, conditioner... and grease. Lol

This is my FAVORITE product!!!! It defines my curls and moisturizes my hair like no other. I use this along with my other staples, kinky curly knot today and coconut oil. My hair loves glycerin. I live in Mississippi and it's humid yr round.

The hawaiian silky works great. I've learned that you can only put so much in your hair because too much will cause it to look white. I haven't used this produce in a while (I've been hooked on Shea Moisture) but I think I'll go back to using this as my styler...

The S Curl I just spray it on the section that Im working on , and then apply the Hawaiian to the section Im twisting . I remember the brand being talked about when I was younger, but I didnt know anything about hair or beauty supply stores back then

I appreciate your videos. Thank you very much for all your information and tutorials. I am turning 50, and I am menopausal, and I am having a time with my hair due to hormones. I did the B/C in July of 2013 because of the thinning and dryness. This gel has done wonders for my hair. I was using the Long Aid gel but it stopped working as my hair grew. My hair would be fine and loose for a couple of weeks then course again because of my hormones, but this gel is passing the test regardless of my hormones. I am on my second jar. Thank you very much

I'll try this product in the future when my hair is longer. Right now I avoid glycerin because I don't have the length vs. shrinkage ratio I'd like to have.
My hair is 10 inches at the longest layers, but shrinks down to a twa. I know you probably went through a similar stage too, and it gives me so much inspiration to see your hair looking so beautiful, healthy and long, =)
Natural type 4's with extreme shrinkage I know you all can relate. lol

I would use something lighter like water, moisturizing conditioner, and oil in a spray bottle and moisturize that way

Hawaiian Silky is good stuff! My favs are Worlds of Curls Curl Activator gel for Extra Dry Hair and Stay Sof Fro Hair & Scalp Spray. I've been using those 2 joints for years and will continue. They hold me down with week long moisture big time. Love 'em!

wrap it, they share some similar ingredients, but the gel has thickeners to make it a gel form . But glycerin and water is a big component for both .

If your hair is kinky is anyway I would say so. I think if hair is curly and has weight to it , when just damp then maybe. But for hard to "control" curls and kinks, something thicker, and with hold in conjunction may work better

I have a HATE/LIKE relationship with Glycerin rich products but recently tried the Cantu Curl Activator under my gel for probably the best WnG I've ever had. I will definitely check out this Hawaiian Silky product as it's likely easier for me to get on the ground at Sally's than the Cantu product. I will probably pick up the 14-in-1 spray for good measure; a blast from the past.

I use the Scurl first on sections of my hair, then I apply the silky to the individual sections for twists

I just bought this product the other day after researching curl activators. OMG...My hair L O V E S this stuff. I have 4cdefghi...etc hair and it literally seemed to change the entire feel of my hair. It's so soft and after I sleep on it, the curls didn't disappear. I did a refresher a few days later with eco-styler and my hair STILL feels soft. I need to try twisting my hair with it in. Can't believe I overlooked this product...
