Niels is a real expert on this topic and of course pool in general. I've always admired his enormous mental strength when I was binge watching pool matches back then.

Niels hits on a critical aspect of winning. Having a dispassionate and unemotional approach to the task at hand. Each shot is simply a problem to be solved - not an opponent to beat! Great concept and video for good players who are looking to get to the next level.

Huge fan of Niels. The amount of focus and intensity that he brings to the game is unparalleled in my opinion. It seems like every shot he faces is the most important shot of his career. As a result he rarely beats himself and is extremely tough under pressure hence the great Mosconi Cup record.

Looking at Neils, I always thought that the only thing that is going through his mind is that he wants rip his opponent into little pieces.

So many great players out there. Filler, Dennis, SVB, Bergman, Shaw, the Ko brothers, Chang, etc. But no doubt in my mind that Niels is the best out there because of the dedicated hard work he puts in.

A lot of this game is mental. Love hearing what's going on in the mind of Niels.

Great video. It shows that sometimes we can be our own worst enemy, depending on what's swimming around in our heads. Once we just focus on what we're doing, get our rhythm going and don't over think things, we can beat anybody.

So many useable nuggets of wisdom here but one particular standout for me that I'll employ in my every day game... is the breathing aspect.
Ever since I started playing 4 - 5 years ago, I've ALWAYS suffered with near paralyzing anxiety in my first few games. I get nervous, my heart rate goes tachycardic, I start shaking while I'm down on the shot & it becomes increasingly difficult to focus as matches progress.
People, over the years, have always told me to "breathe" & I always thought it was a tounge-in-cheek reference to people thinking I might pass out so, I kind of dismissed it.
Not until this video, where Niels explains the "why," the reason for the breathing, increasing oxygen to the brain in a stressful situation, did I understand.
I will use this & many other lessons learned in this video.
Love my Kamui products & I love this Kamui Brand channel!
    Thank you!
    🤟😁🤟

Great video and recap. And congrats for doing what you needed to do to get back in stroke & come back for the win to build your confidence & grind your way back to finding your relaxed subconscious game. Reminds me of 30 years ago when I played big tournaments. You did what was needed! Cheers

Awesome. Some pros never really look at the CB, just the contact point on the OB. Some go back and forth. Niels, is it okay to just look at the OB and while feeling the CB? Or is going back and forth a must? Thanks so much.
