Love your videos Kelly I have been in Japan nearly 5months and I am having a fantastic time. I work at a nursery and I love my job. Keep up the good work x
Hi Kelly, I started watching your channel about a year ago as I also lived in Aomori as an exchange student... I can completely understand the emotions you feel in Japan, but I am so happy for you that everything is falling into place. Further more you are an amazingly hard worker and your family should be proud.... well done x
You are seriously my favorite person to watch on UA-cam. I genuinely get excited when you post. It’s my dream to one day visit Japan and watching an American persons daily life in japan is so interesting to me.

I like when Kelly make a week video, I always follow her video because she always in happy mood and laugh girl. Although sometimes she had a hard day, she still smiled and laughed. Her smile inspires us as we go through the day.
Hi Kelly, this video of yours popped up on my youtube feed today, and I did not even remember that I had subscribed to your channel ! But towards the end, I heard you say that you will be talking about Teaching English in Japan. And I was like, whoa ! I am also a foreigner living in Japan, and English is not my native language, but I too loved Japan, and the language intrigued me into learning more, and I am associated with this language and country for the past 15 years. No, I am not a senior person, and I have just started teaching English for a kindergarten school since this April...I love kids, and I do have a decent command over English, but not necessarily the native accent. But I loved the fact that kids are so welcoming, and all I am required to do is to make English fun. I have started with Grade 2 and 3 in kindergarten schools, and I will begin Grade 1 in January. So, I would like to know if you can make more videos about teaching English in Japan, and if you can give pointers on games and lesson plans that I can learn from your videos...I am not even sure you are going to read my comment, but I hope you do....I follow the eslkidsstuff currciculum for now, but I do not have practical knowledge of how the classes can be made better...so I do from my understanding....But I would love to have some guidance..! Love your pleasant nature...Keep going !

That part when you mentioned that if you can’t find sour cream in Japan just use Greek yogurt was actually so helpful to me! I have lived in Tokyo for four months already but I was not able to find an adequate substitution for sour cream here in Tokyo. Now I actually live in Kasai so I can definitely relate to a lot of things that you talked about living in the not as Metropolitan part of Tokyo. Keep up the good work!

Well Kelly you have a great format and really enjoy your work and I have subscribed to your channel thanks for sharing this wonderful video with us that enjoy your prestigous talent.
My fiance and I teach in a native Alaskan village, I teach Kindergarten and she teaches grades 5-7. We've been thinking about moving to japan around 2022, has been nice to see the no frills day in the life!
Look into cooking only with stainless steel. I heard that the non-stick, Teflon pans add fluorides to your food. Even at normal cooking temperatures, they give off gasses that kill pet birds, etc. and are not good for you either.
I like that carrot, onion and potato pack for making curry. Great idea that's super convenient! We also use plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for tacos.
I’m currently an ESL teacher in my home city of London. I’m going to Uni soon to get my Bachelors, my aim is to get over to Japan to teach. What I was wondering is do you have to prepare all of your own materials where you work, or do they give you some guidance or a syllabus? Thank you 🙏🏻 love your videos, seeing this side of Japan is so refreshing. And I have no idea what you’re talking about, you still look gorgeous without makeup on 💕 ❤️💕
Hi! I've been an English teacher in Japan so I will give you an answer based on my experience :) Oh, I have to say tho that I was not an English teacher for kids, but for Last year highschoolers or 18+ (so people who wanted to get into Uni, Office Workers etc. ) Pretty much every "Eikaiwa" = English teaching/conversation school has its own materials and teaching methods. Usually, you have a set amount of hours for initial training (this is after you get the job) and you get to know exactly how to teach like, lesson structure, the content of materials and other information every teacher would need. After that, you usually have some "observed" lesson where you get to teach observed by a senior who takes notes and gives you feedback and then if they approve, you can start being a regular teacher. This might sound pretty nervewrecking (at least it was for me at first), but everything happens in fast-paced and effectively so you don't have to worry. If you plan to teach english privately, it mostly depends on the student's needs. Some students just want a free talk, other might want to pass a certification exam so they will bring their own books and you might need to correct them or help them further understanding some grammar points. Overall it's very relaxed and if you're passionate you're going to be fine :) Good luck!
I really enjoyed this video and I am looking forward to the video on teaching English in Japan as I would love to come over to Japan with my husband and live there for a while.
Hey Kelly! I'm curious to know what types of materials are needed for teaching in Japan (if you have to bring some from overseas, or if they provide materials, etc.), and what materials do you use? I was also wondering how your first year as a teacher in Japan was compared to now? I'm planning on applying for the JET Program in the future, but am nervous because I doubt myself and my abilities quite often, even though I minored in TESOL at my university. 😅 Any advice for *soon-to-be* first year teachers would be greatly appreciated. 😉
So interesting to see a day in the life in Japan! I think a movable island on wheels would benefit you guys greatly with the tiny Japanese kitchen/countertop space. Seeing the rice cooker on the floor was like, "ahh!!" Different cultures. :) Have a great week!!
*fingers crossed* I am trying this year. Freaking out a bit. Keeping my hopes low, if I get an interview I will be happy. Downside is I really have only 2 years to try and if I don't get in, I may not be able to apply again.

TheOutsidersPost I’ve travelled around the US, as well. But that doesn’t mean I’m bored where I live. I just feel like trying something new, and not necessarily in Japan. There’s a lot to be grateful for about the United States, but there’s also a lot to explore outside of this country. Sure other nations have brought bits and pieces of their cultures here, but they’ve all been Americanized at some point in some way. You experience a more authentic culture when you explore the country of origin, and I’m not talking about touristy spots. You can do both tourist spots and more local spots if you’d like though. That’s why I kinda want to try living somewhere else in the world. I’m always told our textbooks and information we learn in general is more catered towards the country in which you reside. Might as well explore all sides of the story.
