My Greek grandma says that her secret to long life is to “never hold hate in your heart and always see the bright sight, everyone is a family for me”. I believe that this simplicity in viewing the good in others help you live happy and thus less stressed.

I really love this about these people. They have a sense of community. Unlike the Netherlands, which is a very individualistic society. Statistics say it's one of the richest and happiest countries in the world. But what statistics don't show is how many people here suffer from depression, anxiety and burn-outs. And I'm now convinced that individualism in this society has played a huge role in this.

My Mum can still clean a three bedroom home and Dad can still work on his garden and help others too but my Dad tells me he is now experiencing old age aches in his body at 86 and needs a little nap in the day some times. Only God knows how long my Mum and Dad will live but I am grateful to spend time with them as long as they are here with me and if they both truly do believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their only Saviour I will see them again for all eternity in the new heaven and new Earth in which dwells righteousness and no more pain, tears, diseases, viruses, cancer, migraines or death.

One of the most important factors of longevity is the sense of being needed. Not only "I have forgotten to die" but also "I don't have time to die". So, people who stay with their families, help and actively participate in everyday life, feel fulfilled and are more likely to live longer.

@@cocobutterchin6768 You are mistaken. They are truly hard working people because they produce real value for their life, they work the land and build their homes or have a farm which brings real value. The American way produces value for the corporate world not for the individual. You work 16 hours a day and you bring the value of your paycheck times 5 to your boss and you are getting paid a tiny fraction of your worth/time. In the end you end up owing no real value. Just mortgage payments and taxes.

-Eat more green cellulose/filler food (for gut and fullness feeling)
-Eat less and more often, feeling just a little bit hungry (good for autophagy/cancer avoidance)
-Train your mind with calculations and reading and remembering new things (good for brain maintance)
-Socialize and interact with people on a daily basis (feeling good - positive mindset)
-Do not worry or stress, avoid it. (lowers stresshormones and maintains a good heart)
-Have fun sometimes (renews wonder and life perspective)
Eating simple (no additives, vegetable oils (they are dangerous and very processed today) avoiding too much sugar(no added sugar in things) surely prolongs and gives a much healthier life.
