Was! One of the best places on the planet!
That's what the ancient Macedonians thought too! They built their ancient capital city of Hella there and all was well until the 1500's when the volcano erupted on Santorini island, the violent eruption from this super volcano shook the ground, sent tsunamis and threw lava bombs!
This is why the Macedonians abandoned Hella! And relocated to Pella further east...
The Greeks arrived after this time! While this eruption took place, the Greeks were just escaping from Egyptian slavery, they weren't known as Greeks back then, the word greek means foreigner in Macedonian pronounced Greytsi which is where the Roman Latin word Grecian comes from!
The account of the arrival of the Greeks/foreigners in Europe is documented in the bible, the book of exodus! They were known as the Israelites until they were conquered by King Philip II and were thus called greci pronounced Greytsi... Even during the Roman Empire, the Greeks who were taken into Roman slavery and completed their slavery contract, they were given the title of Greco Roman's..... No other race of people got a special title.... Because they were different to everyone else!
So either this documentary was really badly researched or it's pure propaganda?

I've always found the history of Eastern Europe to be both fascinating and underappreciated. From Stefen Nemanja in Serbia to Emperor Alexios I Komnenos in Byzantium, it's an adventure learning. I'm from a Chinese civilisation so learning about other cultures as old or older than mine is exciting. Most fascinating is how Greece have survived as individual city states and never lost their culture despite being dominated by both the Latin Romans and Ottoman Turks. That is strength and pride!

None of any of those things had anything to do with the Greeks!
There's no ancient Greece! I'm sure that you were taught that Greece was ancient but the fact is that the word Greece popped up in the 1800'sAD....
Therefore you can't say ancient and Greece together in one sentence!
You are or was taught to confuse the Greeks and the Macedonians, two different people!
During the time of Alexander The Great, the Greeks existed as a minority! Uneducated people who learnt the advanced Macedonian Slavic alphabet which they are still using today and only because they were taught by the British and French linguists who were working on decoding the Rosetta Stone and incorrectly believed that it was written in greek, the Greeks couldn't read it! They were largely illiterate! Just as they were when they turned up in Europe after 1500bce, by the 400's BCE, King Philip II went and conquered them....
And they remained conquered by the Macedonian empire fell to the Romans and finally the ottomans, it was only until the fall of the ottomans that the Greeks had the opportunity to be free!
The Greeks just never had any time to achieve anything great!
Democracy was a Macedonian invention, none of these so called greek scholar's were greek! Having books translated into greek from Macedonian doesn't make them greek!
The Romans did a good job of erasing history, the Etruscans, the Carthaginians, the Macedonian, they collapsed the Egyptian Monarchy... And who knows what other damage they have done....
It took a huge empire to support Alexander The Great to travel all the way to India! The mighty Macedonian king and warrior spread the Slavic language and culture everywhere which is why the Slavic language is the most common spoken language in Europe! And also why it's not a Greek language! A minority language that shows up in a tiny abandoned corner of Europe and never went anywhere! They write with an ancient Macedonian alphabet, they use many Slavic Macedonian words spoken with a Spanish/Jewish accent.... Apparently they invented everything while conquering the world, none of which there is any real evidence!
So you are thanking the wrong people.....

    • @PeterMilanovski
      @PeterMilanovski Місяць тому

@@SushanthM-pv2sk yes I am, but don't think for a minute that I have a conflict of interest!
I'm not interested in promoting nationalism! Not you nor I can take credit for what our ancient ancestors did!
Knowing what actually happened makes me happy! I searched for the truth because the more I look into greek history, the more it doesn't make sense! But everyone talks about how great the Greeks were and what they achieved and invented.. but when you begin to dig a bit deeper, nothing fits together!
Like I already mentioned about the Greeks alphabet and how they are still using the ancient Macedonians Slavic koine alphabet.... Tell me, which alphabet were the Greeks using before it? You can look but you won't find anything! This once great and powerful civilization that apparently conquered the world can't show you how their own alphabet evolved! Really?
The Macedonians are on their third evolution of their alphabet.... The first one was a Slavic Macedonian Sanskrit, then came the koine alphabet and both can be seen used on the Rosetta Stone.... It was believed that the middle text was Egyptian demotic but has been deciphered since....
And you can tell when a nation of people are in fact ancient, their alphabet shows it!
While the koine alphabet is considered ancient, it's relatively new compared to Sanskrit which the Greeks do not possess!
The actual ancient civilizations that still exist today are India, China, Egypt, Palestine and Macedonia... These were the world's super powers of their day!
I'm telling you, if you start to learn everything about greek history and make sure that everything fits within everything else, you too will begin finding problems, the more you look, the more you find!
The word greek in Macedonian means foreigners! The Macedonians say Grejci pronounced Greytsi, Grey means come and together with tsi means commers! Ie foreigners....
When Macedonia fell to the Romans, they adopted the Macedonian word grejci pronounced Greytsi and got Greco and Grecian....
When you pronounce both words, they literally sound the same! The modern English word greek was adapted from the Latin Roman word for greek and the Greeks don't even know it! They think that the name means something great which is exactly what they want to hear!
Think about it, the Macedonians made it all the way to India! What sort of a nation would you need behind you to achieve this?
Is it any surprise that the majority of Europe speaks a Slavic dialect? But wait! If the Macedonians were greek and Alexander The Great spoke greek, shouldn't Europe be speaking some sort of greek dialect instead?
Like I said, greek history doesn't make sense! It just doesn't work!
If Macedonia was greek, and the Spartans and Corinthians were greek but today there are no Spartans or Corinthians because there's just Greeks, and the ancient Macedonians who were so powerful, why would the Macedonians need a Greek identity also? Apparently there's no more Macedonians even though they were so powerful but the Greeks survived? How? Every single Macedonian dies out but the Greeks survived? Does not make sense!
      Always ask questions!
History is not about making you feel important because of something that you did not do! History is about what actually happened! Good or bad! Always remember to search for the truth!

@@SushanthM-pv2sk He is a Slav. Only Slavic people who think they (falsely) identify as "Macedonian" can say such nonsense. They literally try to fantasize away 5 golden ages of Greece spanning many many thousands of years with zero facts, zero evidence, zero anything.
They think that because Greece wasn't a modern state like in 1821, Greece has never existed. Like India and China as a state exists only since 1949 and 1950, so they didn't have anything before that. Can you imagine what kind of intellect one must have to say such completely absurd things? It's hilarious
But the reality is that Slavic people migrated from a regions that is now in Russia, to East Europe in the 7-8th Century AD, and they arrived 1000 years later after Alexander the Great in a region in the NORTH of Greece, and therefor in the north of the region Macedonia.
      In Conclusion.
*The region that Slavic people today call "North Macedonia" was called Vardarska Banovina 50 years, ago. But in Ancient Greece, this was a non-Greek land called Paeonia. And in Medieval times this same region was called Dardania. So. In conclusion. Slavic people who falsely fantasize they are Macedonians, are 1000 years too late, and migrated to the wrong land. Go figure*
Lastly. Anyone can research the following:
      1. The origin and founding of Macedonia by the Argead Dynasty which originates from Peloponnese 3000 years ago
      2. The most popular symbol, the Vergina Sun Symbol, is the most Greek symbol there is and was in use all over Ancient Greece. So the emblem of Macedonia was literally the most Greek symbol in existence. The 16 and 12 star Vergina Sun Symbol represents the 12 Olympian gods, and the 4 elements.
      3. The land that these Slavic people live on, was a non-Greek region called Paeonia in Ancient times and Dardania in Medieval times.
*These 3 points alone completely annihilates every possible perspective of Slavic fantasy of Macedonia. Macedonia is exclusively Greek and has been for 3000 years since it's foundings till this day*
Meanwhile. A slav can only keep crying with absolute zero facts. mehhh meeeeehhh, meheeeeeeeehghhhhhhhhhhh
Zero arguments, zero facts, zero archaeology, zero linguistics, zero science. Everything is completely against them. And yet they insist they are connected to Alexander. A complete hoke

Lol I seen one of those racist moor videos on here that said that Plato was in fact black lol. People like that get mad that their own culture throughout history isn’t as rich as white peoples lol. But we can’t help that lol that’s just the way things are.
I mean man…. They are some crazy conspiracy theorists, saying that white people have hid the “truth about black civilizations throughout history”. And I couldn’t help but make a comment
Saying…. You must’ve been really sad during your history lessons growing up, it really hit you right in your soul to learn that all of the most successful civilizations throughout history are of white cultures.
And now you have to say “that’s ours and we did that”. Saying stuff like Black people were in America first, Black people built the pyramids, black people taught white people how to bathe. And how to be civilized…. It’s really hard to bite your tongue when someone is attacking your culture lol. But I couldn’t help myself and saying that it’s the year 2023 and most of Africa is still throwing spears at wild animals….. I rest my case. But no it’s all a big conspiracy…. They shove this MOOR talk down everyone’s throats.
What’s your opinion on the MOOR’s and what comes to mind when those same people make wild, unfounded, ridiculous, claims like that about cultures of years past?

Some people are not happy with this strong historical remembrance and conscience of the Greeks. They resent that. In a way, I can understand that. Because at times it can be intimidating. Sometimes I myself can‘t believe how old and strong this Greek culture still is. But when you drive up the Lycabettos hill and watch the Acropolis against the background of the Aegean Sea, when you walk through the beautiful landscape of Delphi and see the sacred temples, when you visit the Hagia Sofia in Istanbul and attend the service in the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul, then you will feel this unique sentiment of living history. It is all still there under the shining light of the mediterranean sun. This makes me feel so humble and proud at the same time because humans have done all this. It is the cultural heritage of our human race.

Seeing how human history is, I'm confident in saying that one day in the future, the traditional parts of Greece that are being held by turkey will eventually return to their rightful owners. What we are living is only a blip in history, but Greece is eternal.

THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "is a great last day that He will save man"
(God Came to Work on Earth to save Corrupt mankind. The present is not the same as the past. The salvation granted today occurs during the last day, when everyone is separated according to type)
      Almighty God said
Now God is judging you, chastising you, and punishing you, but you need to know that the point of punishing you is for you to know yourself. He is PUNISHING, JUDGING, and PUNISHING so that you KNOW YOURSELF, to CHANGE YOUR DISPOSITION, and in addition, so that you KNOW YOUR VALUE, and SEE THAT ALL OF GOD'S ACTIONS ARE RIGHTEOUS and IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS DISPOSITION and It is necessary in His WORK, that He WORKS ACCORDING TO HIS PLAN for MAN'S SALVATION, and that He is the RIGHTEOUS GOD who LOVES, SAVES, JUDGES, and PUNISHES MAN. 🙏
If you only KNOW that YOUR STATUS IS LOW, that YOU ARE CORRUPT and DISOBEDIENT, BUT YOU DON'T KNOW THAT GOD WANTS TO MAKE HIS SALVATION CLEAR THROUGH the JUDGMENT and PUNISHMENT HE DOES TO YOU NOW, YOU HAVE NO WAY TO GET EXPERIENCE, especially you have NO ABILITY to CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD. GOD DID NOT COME TO KILL or DESTROY, BUT TO JUDGE, CURSE, CHASSIS, and SAVE. ☀️
UNTIL His 6,000 year GOVERNMENT PLAN is COMPLETED---BEFORE He REVEALS the OUTCOME of EVERY CATEGORY of HUMANS---GOD'S WORK on EARTH is FOR SALVATION, IT'S PURPOSE is ONLY to MAKE it PERFECT---COMPLETELY ---those who LOVE Him and SUBJECT to His RULE. HOWEVER GOD SAVES PEOPLE, IT DOES ALL BY IDENTIFYING them in their OLD SATANIC NATURE; that is, He SAVES them THROUGH ENCOURAGING them to DESIRE LIFE.
If they DON'T DO that, THERE is NO WAY they can RECEIVE GOD'S SALVATION. SALVATION is the WORK of GOD HIMSELF, and DESIRE for LIFE is SOMETHING that MAN MUST DO to RECEIVE SALVATION. ☀️
In HUMAN EYES, SALVATION is GOD'S LOVE, and GOD'S LOVE CANNOT BE PUNISHMENTS, JUDGMENTS, and CURSES; SALVATION MUST be accompanied by love, compassion, and in addition, words of comfort, as well as the eternal blessings bestowed by God.
People believe that when God saves people, He does so by touching them with His blessings and grace, so that they give their hearts to God. That is, His touching people is His saving them.
This type of rescue is done through reconciliation. When God grants them a hundred times, only then will people submit to God's name and strive to do good for Him and bring Him glory.
THIS IS NOT GOD'S PURPOSE for MANKIND. GOD CAME TO WORK ON EARTH to SAVE CORRUPTED HUMANITY; there is no lie here.
If there was, He certainly did not come to do His work personally.
In the past, His way of salvation included a display of ultimate love, so He gave everything to Satan, the brother of all mankind.
The PRESENT is NOT the SAME AS the PAST: THE SALVATION GIVEN to YOU NOW HAPPENS DURING the LAST DAYS, WHEN EVERY ONE is SEPARATE BY KIND; the WAY of your SALVATION is NOT LOVE or COMPASSION, BUT PUNISHMENT and JUDGMENT, so that MAN CAN be more COMPLETELY SAVED. 🙏
THEREFORE, ALL YOU RECEIVE is PUNISHMENT, JUDGMENT, and RUINLESS STRIKES, BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS: IN THIS RUINLESS STRIKES THERE is NO LITTLE PUNISHMENT. ☀️
NO MATTER HOW HARM My WORDS ARE, WHAT COMES to YOU ARE JUST A FEW WORDS THAT MAY SEEM COMPLETELY HEARTLESS to YOU, and HOW MUCH My ANGER is, WHAT COMES TO YOU ARE STILL WORDS of TEACHING, and I DON'T INTEND to HURT you or KILL you. ☀️
      Isn't this all true?
YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT AT THIS TIME, WHETHER IT IS RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT OR HEARTLESS REFINING and PUNISHMENT, EVERYTHING os FOR THE SAKE of
      SALVATION. ☀️
WHETHER it is NOW SEPARATE EACH ONE BY TYPE or EXPOSING CATEGORIES of PEOPLE, the PURPOSE of ALL GOD'S WORDS and WORKS is TO SAVE THOSE WHO TRULY LOVE GOD. RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT is MADE to PURIFY PEOPLE, and HARD REFINEMENT is MADE to PURIFY them; HURTING WORDS or PUNISHMENT are both MADE to PURIFY and for SALVATION.☀️🙏
THEREFORE, the METHOD of SALVATION TODAY is NOT the SAME DAY.
NOW YOU ARE SAVED BY RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT, and THIS IS A GOOD TOOL to SEPARATE EACH ONE of YOU ACCORDING to KIND. ☀️
Besides, CRUEL PUNISHMENT SERVES your ULTIMATE SALVATION---and what can you say in the face of such chastisement and judgment?
Have you not always enjoyed salvation, from beginning to end?
You have seen God incarnate and realized His infinite power and wisdom; and besides, you have experienced repeated beatings and discipline.
However, have you not also received the greatest grace? Are not your prayers greater than others?
YOUR GRACES are even more ABUNDANT than the GLORY and RICHES that SOLOMON ENJOYED! Think about this:
If My purpose in coming was to judge and punish you instead of saving you, would your life have lasted? ☀️
Are you still alive, sinful creatures of flesh and blood?
If my goal was only to punish you, why did I incarnate and start such a big project?
CAN'T YOU LOW MORTAL BE PUNISHED FOR JUST SPEAKING ONE WORD? Will I still have to exterminate you after I have deliberately condemned you?
Do you still not believe these words of mine? Can I save man only through love and compassion? ☀️
Or can I just use the crucifixion to save people?
Isn't My righteous disposition more pleasant to make man completely obedient? Is it not more capable of completely saving man? 🙏

I am an historian of world class pedigree and I assure you that socalled white people have only been on the planet for six to ten thousand years according to science and are NOT human precluding them from any discussion of human origins or civilization. This is not a dig. I'm just not on the side of white supremacist scholarship. There was and never will be a time in history when white people will be civilized. They are incapable of it. Their so-called history is based in savagery, genocide, and stealing from Israelites. I e.Black people. White people cannot live without having a parasitic relationship with Black people. 👊🏿🕎🏹⚔️🌽

I noticed a couple of things in this video. You were not talking at an excruciatingly slow pace, nor a crazy fast pace. You have phenomenal diction and are clear with your words. This video is sectioned out in an organized manner and is clear and concise with its presentation. The presentation is also academic, rather than meme-ish. You used valid, current quotes, images, and research to support your claims while keeping your storyline going (you don’t lose yourself in the proof.) What an excellent video! Clear, understandable, organized, and well formatted. Props 🫶🏻😁

Thank you. This video really goes to the heart of it. That Greek history didn’t stop at the fall of Greek cities to Rome. It continued through the ages, particularly as the Eastern Roman Empire which was Greek speaking and Greek Orthodox. We have to “thank” Gibbons for developing the English academic loathing of later and eastern Roman history - “Byzantine” - which only now is being challenged. Another point is the idea of “Roman” rather than Greek history in Anatolia. Modern Turkish propaganda states that nearly every excavation they uncover in Anatolia is “Roman”. They constantly deny that the cities of Anatolia were Greek, spoke Greek before Roman conquest and continued to be Greek through classical Roman and later eastern Roman periods. These areas remained Greek through the ottoman era and only when 1.5 million Greeks were driven out of Anatolia in 1922/23 (many thousands murdered) was this connection severed. The point I make is that Greek history - all of its stages - has to be defended against those who would deny it and the ignorant tourists who wouldn’t know any better and go along with the idea that, for example, Ephesus was a Roman city or Antioch was a Roman city. I’m sick of finding the internet full of “useful idiots”.

Many years ago, I read Gibbon Books 1-3 (to the end of the Western Empire), and tried to get through Book 4 in the hope of completing all 6 but he lost me after Justinian... the connection with the West, and what we Westerners *can* connect with was more or less broken at that time, only to be reconnected properly after 1830.

Thank Mr. Gibbons and on my behalf for writing a history in which only British collaborationists participate. How was it concluded that Greek was spoken in the Eastern Roman Empire? If the Greeks were so important in that empire, why wasn't a single emperor Greek? If the Greeks are such a powerful nation, why didn't they choose their own king after the formation, instead they brought Otto Friedrich Ludwig, Prince of Bavaria. Even today, they wave the Bavarian flag and shout that it is Greece. And everyone forgets to mention the Greek genocide and the expulsion of Slavic and other tribes after the Greek-Turkish war.

From " You Must Set Aside the Blessings of Status and Understand God's Will to Bring Man's Salvation"
Fulfillment of "When I looked up, someone handed me a book wrapped in a scroll. I opened it and I read on both sides the prayers, lamentations, and curses." (Ezekiel 2:9-10). ... "His garment was stained with blood. He was called the "Word of God" (Rev. 19:13).

As a Greek American, I absolutely loved the reverence shown for Greece's history and culture. You have a tremendous ability to boil down ~2,500 years of history into just one hour. One critical thing that I think was missed was the Greek Pontian and Armenian genocide that occurred 1919-1922. The video made it seem like a somewhat peaceful transfer of population but in reality it was a horrific and explicit genocide by Ataturk. Otherwise, incredible recollection.

Cyprus was the first country to recognize the Genocide after Greece, by a decision of the House of Representatives on May 19, 1994, and since then it has been commemorating the victims.
In addition to these, the Genocide has been recognized by Sweden on March 11, 2021, Armenia in March 2015, along with the Assyrian genocide, and the Netherlands, along with the Armenian and Assyrian genocide, on April 9, 2015.

im not even finished watching it yet but just gotta say im immeasurably excited, for years ive contemplated making an hour-ish video compiling\summarizing all of crete's history and this has gotten me so hyped i think im actually going to do it now! lol thanks for the motivation! Also love that you put greek text in each chapters title. Something ive come to the conlcusion of as a greek american gal who likes to read about and contemplate/debate history is if there is one constant element/thing that unifies all greek peoples the most throughout various faiths, descents, places on the map, place in time, etc. it's the writing hands down

Thank you so much veraxiana! I totally agree about the incredible persistence and consistency of the alphabet, that it's been basically the same since 402BC. Even Chinese has changed in that time in terms of its glyphs, and of course the Latin alphabet has had letters added and removed for the various European languages.
I wish you the very best in your presentation about Crete. It is actually harder to write less material about a subject than more because you must decide what is important and what to leave out, and how to summarise in a few short words sometimes complex concepts. Please share my video with your friends and family in the great Greek diaspora of the USA and I'll be glad to link your video to this when you've finished it...

I've been in schools where you had to wipe the smile off your face before going in the door because the kids saw a smile as an indication to lose focus and play up and distract from lessons - with the Greek kids in the 3 schools I was in, you could smile and learn and have fun.
