Chrissy, and Jeremy, Thank goodness no one has illegally switched the property deed to your place. After 25+ years working in government, nothing would surprise me with all the craziness in this world. You have every right to know what's moving in next to you. Counties have computers systems with access to public records (appraiser, tax, county clerk with criminal, and civil). Unless of course the town, and county are so small the records are not computerized. The you'd need to go to the office directly.

Thank goodness Jeremy checked out the hunting map. Always a good idea to know who lives around you and what kind of activity is going on. My husband and I decided to sell our land in OK even though we loved it and put a lot of hard work and money into it, because the area around us was becoming undesirable. Stay vigilant as it can change in a heartbeat. Love the “new” chicken coop, by the way!
That is scary that people can steal someone's property and it is crazy that the counties don't have a better process to verify changes and not just process changes without confirming the validity of the changes. CRAZY AND SCARY STUFF thanks for sharing.
In Florida they are trying to do away with the Quit claim deed, and at the courthouse we can registrar our information if someone is trying to do anything with our deed to our property
I find it frustrating that someone can file paperwork without your knowledge to steal land, but someone needs a Title from the current owner to register ownership of a car. Why isn't there a Title for land similar to a title for cars?
I totally understand wanting to know what's going on with the properties around you. Where we use to live the property across from one of our fields got sold and they were going to put in row houses. We moved it was too close for comfort.. Our property now is on a dead-end road where no further building can happen unless they widen the road and get permission because of the road being on an easement.
Good to know you have a favorable outcome. I’ve watched a few people tell their store of squatters taking over your home. Squatters have more rights than the owners- check your state laws. Hey guys look into a possible wind or solar farm going on the property behind you. We live in McIntosh county and everyone around here is fighting to keep it out. You might want to ask the county commissioners if they know anything about that type of project. Our county officials keep quiet for a year and a half. These companies are very sly and secretive.
So Oklahoma is like Texas. A development must file with the State and County if they are planning to divide property into lots for a development. And I agree it is your business to know what is going on around you. As always stay safe, stay healthy and keep your powder dry 🤙🤙😎🤙🤙

Y'all are in OK? Oh my gosh. I'm an Okie too!!! :-) You need to do one of those things that will cover you if you have to fix something like this. Gosh. So was the piece you thought was the one y'all own on the hunting app wasn't y'all's ????? Get hold of the hunting app folks. Well, that's great on the land being split up. Hon, sad thing is, nothing a person can do about that. You'd just have to sell and buy some more land.
After I had an identity theft problem, I subscribed to a credit monitoring service that also monitors title deeds to make sure nobody could steal my property out from under me. It may be rare, but it was worth the extra $20 a year for peace of mind to know someone is monitoring 24/7 so I would be notified quickly.
And I've learned a lot today actually, as to what an LLC is and how they become such a wealthy entity. And the most important thing is you can't sue them for damages. You can't sue them for loan defaults. The LCC is nobody. But it is ruining businesses around the world. Research what an LLC is. Llc's pay no federal taxes. Llc's have companies or people or other corporations that are members. Those members and buy-ins are considered business tax deductions. An LLC is not a person. It is many persons.
@ParagonRidgeRanch Ok... I'm still learning about it... And I've had..2 successful businesses of my own so I'm a bit familiar with with lowering my top line to pay less..... But never was or would want to legally cheat for lack of better words. That will definitely look into this one person or entity option because I read nothing today that suggests that's the case. I understand one LLC can join and become a member of another, LLC and so on. And they can determine who the other members are allowed to do business with. I'm sure that I will get a lot of flack from this But It is your business what is going on around your property. You bought there and moved there with the expectation of not living in or near a neighborhood, if you don't stay on top of it and keep track of what is going on you very likely will be living smack dab in the middle of a "planned" community. I live far out in the jingweeds for a reason, I don't want to live in town so that my neighbors have to look into my bedroom or bathroom windows and I don't have to look in theirs. I was pretty careful where I bought and it isn't supposed to be able to have commercial business here because of water, WELL somebody with a lot more money that most of us out here tried or is still trying to put in a pot farm next to me. Us cranky old people that live out here found out about it and did all we had to do to stop it using the state rules about water. Hopefully we have stopped them but not trusting my state to not sneak it thru.
You don't own land. The GVMT owns the land, and you pay rent to the GVMT or you will "forfeit" your land". PPL that think they own land in the USA are not very smart. The GVMT OWNS the land.

When it takes a novel to buy, close on a house and yet it takes 2 pieces of paper to steal a property.. That's why I'm NOT in a hurry to pay off my house.

There is a growing problem and we must all learn how to protect ourselves. There is a growing interest in putting patents on what is yours. We have to demand property rights protections. These common practices have to be changed to prevent these scams. All it takes to steal from us is a few keystrokes and clicks. It should not take spending thousand to protect what is ours. Even if everything turns out okay for you, you still need to get online to check out how they are doing all this
So if computers never work U will lose your property because books R accessable to anyone and books can B changed- The book in the county I was born in 21 yrs back -( I was 67 then) didnot even have me recorded and Iam number 2 out of 5 kids- They were all in the book and I was in the place for legal permission to get married and parents were their too- So who screwed the books up- Lucky only my Moms brother was alive in 2023 to witness that I was born to my Parents
Nice sad for trying to sell title insurance it's the one product you don't need because guess what all of you can do. You can put a code word on there and make it to where anytime anyone does anything regards to your property you receive a notification. The New York times just did a great article about how this is the most fugazi Insurance vehicle out there right now trying to drum up fear and everyone. By the way if you're getting money for doing an ad you're supposed to admit it at the beginning of your video or else you're in non-compliance with the Federal Trade communication standards. I highly suggest you update your video!

They shouldn't be able to retitle a deed without in person fingerprints and legal id and the former owner signing in person that it's legit.
You're right. Problem is dishonest people, corporations move faster than government can at making laws to address such chicanery.
