Tony’s character arc throughout this movie and all the future movies is fantastic. No, Tony sorted out Pepper so she’s back to normal. All the characters in all the movies evolve. So the Hulk didn’t just show up, this entire movie was told through Tony’s perspective.

@@TheOctobersReact you guys may have already watched it,, not sure how far behind the YT is from Patreon, but just in case, you’re going to freakin love Capt America Winter Soldier.. this MCU stuff goes deep into moral dilemmas , character development , and you will find yourself getting attached to more than just Tony. And we will be here for the entire ride. Not every movie is “great” but IMO, none of them suck.
Fun fact: in the comics, Rhodey was never the Iron Patriot, he was always War Machine(I agree with Tony, so much better). The Iron Patriot was a suit of armor built and worn by Norman Osborn before eventually becoming the villain he's best known as Green Goblin. Also Yinsin being at that party was a call back to a comment he made in the first movie when he mentioned that he and Tony had met previously at a party.

31:00 This origin story for A.I.M. is pretty much pulled right out of the comics. In the comics Baron Wolfgang von Strucker used A.I.M. to develop advanced technological weaponry for his secret subversive organization, Hydra. After WW2 the scientists publicly incorporated their organization under the name of Advanced Idea Mechanics with the public having no idea of their connections to Hydra.

So the little girl that was the VP's daughter in the wheelchair was played by Jenna Ortega when she was much younger. She had mentioned it when she was promoting Scream 6 and her cast members had no idea she was in a Marvel movie. Lol

Great reaction to a change-up of a movie. Suddenly Tony learns the down side of the hero gig, and the bad side of war. PTSD is hell.
Poor Yinsen. But he referred to this meeting in the first Iron Man.

The way they show Tony dealing with his anxiety is pretty cool, and RDJ plays it so well. It is an effing nightmare to find yourself absolutely incapable of doing anything because you're overwhelmed with panic. You keep trying to force yourself to think calmly and rationally and you can't. It's the most powerless I've ever felt, when my own brain refused to let me function normally.
Sir Ben Kingsley is amazing as the Mandarin. He's such a brilliant actor who has played so many great roles from serious drama to malevolent evil to completely comedic to severely and hilariously inept in this movie. As a side note he was almost 70 when this movie was made. 😲 Such an amazing actor!
"Honestly, I hate working here. They are so weird." Possibly my favorite line in all of the MCU. 😛
I mean I kinda hate it for the V.P. I mean, who wouldn't do almost anything to give their child or grandchild what they believe is a chance at a normal life with all their limbs? Still, he did the wrong thing and he'll have to pay. But that little girl in the wheelchair just yanks at my heart...
Another favorite line that sadly got cut: "Who's the hot mess now?" 😀 Pepper is such an awesome character.
And, at the end, poor Bruce. 😀 "I'm not that kind of doctor."
And, really, Tony had to do this without the rest of the team. If he was able to rely on the other Avengers he wouldn't have been able to have the growth and learn the lessons that he absolutely needed. Sometimes we have to go through our darkest moments by ourselves to show that we can overcome them on our own. Hard lessons, but needed.

The amazing thing is the 2 actors playing the villains in this film have had such brilliant careers. Ben Kingsley plays Mandrake, but you could watch Ghandhi, Sexy Beast and Schindler's List and get 3 more completely unique characters. Guy Pearce is playing Killian, but you could watch him in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, L.A. Confidential and Memento and you will also get 3 more completely unique characters. Amazing talents all over these movies.
8:57 I'm pretty sure the "Super-Friends" line was a fun nod to the Hanna-Barbera Super Friends TV show that ran from 1973 to 1985. It was a cartoon about the Justice League of America so DC instead of Marvel. Pop culture for the most part if referenced alot in Marvel comics so DC no doubt exists in the MCU this being where Happy got that line from. I'm also pretty sure that Marvel comics exists as well in the MCU only difference being Marvel is creating comics on real life hero's for example how we saw Captain America comics in Captain America: First Avenger.

@@TheOctobersReact That was much later in 1994 but it did release just two years after the Batman Animated Series. The host does have a very Batman looking mask just without the pointy ears so that's the DC connection with that show.

Welcome to Phase 2. I like Aldrich Killian as a villain.
Tony's project that he was working on between Avengers and now was the Iron Legion, a host of different suits with specialized roles. The Mk. 38, "Igor" possessed powerful hydraulics allowing it to support structures up to 4x its weight. The Mk. 17 "Heartbreaker" has an oversized chest repulsor used as an artillery piece to blast heavy armor such as tanks, and is equipped with a multitude of other weapons. The list goes on, and in the comics they were actually led by Rhodey as War Machine with other pilots that he and Tony deemed trustworthy.
that’s actually cool. so i bet it was cool as a comic fan to see them make an appearance even if it was in a small way.

Fun fact the Iron Patriot in the comics was actually Norman Osborn who donned the armour during the Dark Reign storyline. But after Iron Man 3 released Rhodes who is the Iron Patriot in this film became the new Iron Patriot in the comics a fun example of how the films can actually inspire the comics. The MCU overall as heavily inspire certain characters in the comics and animation.
Why was Norman Osborn not the Iron Patriot in the MCU? Well for one Norman Osborn is a Spider-Man character. Spider-Man's rights are owned by Sony so Spider-Man along with his rogues galley couldn't be used in the MCU unless some deal was made. Pretty much Marvel sold a bunch of there characters IP'S in the 1990s with Sony getting Spider-Man.
A deal was made around 2014 where Sony and Marvel Studios could share the Spider-Man character between the MCU and Sony's stand alone Spider-Man films. This is how the MCU has three Spider-Man films down the line. Also the MCU in general is it's own continuity so they're free to change whatever they want so making Rhodes the Iron Patriot made sense in the context of the MCU's timeline. Personally I would love to see Norman Osborn as the Iron Patriot but Rhodes was a fun choice as well.
On the topic of the MCU being in it's own continuity alot of people hated what they did with the Mandarin with the reveal that it was not actual the real Mandarin. He was hinted at in the first Iron Man film with the terrorist organization that abducted Tony being the Ten Rings who this say has a connection with The Mandarin. But without going into Spoilers the whole Mandarin bate and switch is actually liked by fans now for reasons you'll see down the line.

I just found you guys and am tearing through your reactions - I've seen IM3 4 or 5 times, but watched at least 10 different reactors. It is so cool when you find something new or a different view on it. After all these reactions and personal views, I just heard something revelatory - Tony says, about standing up Killian on New Years, "I just created demons". He didn't say "demon" - meaning, Aldrich Killian AND Maya Hansen. Hindsight being 20/20, here is where it is identified there was more than one baddie in the movie.
I'm pretty sure Tony had Pepper's condition removed.

You guys keep reacting and enjoying these movies. Don't let the negative or overzealous bunch bother you. As for Iron Man 3, it wasn't my favorite but my best friend loves it, so he helped learn to like it. The first Iron Man is still my favorite of the trilogy, with The Incredible Hulk and a handful more down the road being some of my favorites in the MCU.

This movie is so good. The script is a combination of the two best Iron Man comics, Extremis and Five Nightmares, and it's directed well and all the actors are just showing off. Enjoyed the reaction!

Yeh, Iron Man 3 wasn't very popular with peeps when it came out... people kept saying it wasn't "a real comic book movie" but they obviously haven't read any comics, because comics are like this ALL the time. Sometimes there's action packed ones then there's character building ones like this.
They even take a panel from the comics where he slumos down next to the car and the kid tells him "just build something". That looks like a particular panel from one of the Iron Man comics.
Anyway, I really liked seeing Tony Stark OUT of the suit for a change and not relying on it so much. He can fall back on his gadget-building skills and that was really cool. Really liked seeing that. :)

All the love for you guys, honestly. I'm so happy to be joining you on your Marvel journey. As a long-time fan of the MCU, I just love getting to see people experiencing it with fresh eyes.
Just so you know, there's a fair number of Marvel movies outside of the MCU. It basically started with Blade (3 movies), and went on with the X-Men (several movies), Spider-Man (plus the Amazing Spider-Man), the Ghost Rider, the Punisher, Daredevil, Elektra, and a few others, including the Netflix Marvel series (different Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, the Defenders, Iron Fist). Most of it is pretty good, but under no circumstances should you ever watch Howard the Duck. It's regularly on the list of worst movies ever made. It is SO bad. The MCU does give Howard a tip of the hat, but do NOT follow up on it.
Until Phase 4 this movie was one of the lower tier MCU movies but now it doesn't seem so bad now. 🤣 I know people hated the Mandarin reveal as a fake but Ben Kingsley was hilarious in that role.

Nop, Ironman suits are not made of vibranium but rather titanium-gold or nickel-titanium alloy which is extremally strong.
Only caps shield is made of vibranium.
No again, Tony was clearly narrating in the end that he sorted out Pepper. So she doesn't have Extremis aka fire regeneration anymore.

A bit of trivia, Iron patriot in comics is an Osborne (Green goblin) armor, not repurposed Warmachine. But like i said last time with Fox, Marvel comics sold Spiderman to Sony and anything related to Spiderman is off limits.

I appreciate your honest review. If you said you loved them all I’d question it so keep it real. The next Thor movie will probably seem like a step backwards but when you get to the next captain America you’ll be blown away. It’s top tier

@@TheOctobersReact it’s good, it’s just that the bar gets moved so high it just isn’t as well received, however I could be wrong and you may love it. The next avengers will make you all die hard fans. Not gonna spoil anything but love the content.
I think most people do a terrible job at differentiating between not LOVING something and calling it a BAD movie...especially right now with Phase 4 and 5. Like for me, Thor: The Dark World is my lowest rated MCU film, but based on all the truly terrible movies I've seen in my day, absolutely nothing in the MCU belongs in that category. I can still watch Dark World, it's an enjoyable film in its own right, I just think literally everything else is better. So if someone says they liked all of it, to varying degrees, I trust that more than someone saying anything in the MCU is "bad" content (again that includes Phases 4 and 5 right now with how everyone seems to hate everything Marvel does now)

I love movies for kids with fun and silly content that know how to hit emotional beads. No way to tell how good or bad this movie is in one comment. But it can slap and make you cry. Beautiful.

Regarding your comments at the end of the video: Just "thank you" for posting fun content. If people don't like it, or people are too fixated on what they don't like about your videos, I would question why they take the time to watch them. Maybe it's just me, but I don't look to reaction videos for a "perfect" analysis of the film, or anything like that. If it's a movie I like, the reaction is like just sharing something I like with new people and getting to see what they thought about it. So watching you guys watch these movies and talk about them is just fun from that perspective. Yeah, I might disagree with some of your takes on some things. So what? When I watch these movies with my friends and family members in real life, we disagree too. Just keep doing what you are doing, and the 99% will tune in and enjoy it.

14:17, when I heard that Extremis was going to be a part of this movie's storyline I got hyped.
In the comics, Tony goes up against a right wing domestic saboteur who is juiced up on Extremis. The dude dang near deletes Tony even though he is wearing his latest and greatest Iron Mac suit. Tony manages to get away and despite barely hanging on to life works with Maya Hansen to perfect Extremis.
Maya injects the new Extremis into Tony and he becomes covered in a cocoon. A day later, when Tony comes out of the cocoon he is an even more powerful version of himself. Stark is no longer totally human and can actually integrate a new custom Iron Man suit into his own body. Extremis also gives Tony other abilities that make him able to access any electronic device, satellite or system on or near Earth.
As a long time comics reader, I thought it was a fantastic run on this character. But the writers for the MCU decided to go another route with the story...darn it.
that was cool, i see how they kinda portrayed some of that but the way you put it was awesome it woulda been cool to see that play out
@@TheOctobersReact I guess in the MCU they were trying to make Tony more sympathetic and show him on a redemption arc. With Extremis flowing through his veins, Tony became and even bigger d!ck than he already was and began doing some really questionable ish. Nuff said.

@@TheOctobersReact Intense and in some cases just unscrupulous. Iron Man is one of my favorite characters. But Tony Stark is a much darker, brooding and pragmatic character in the comics than he is in the MCU.
There are several released MCU movies and upcoming Marvel shows/movies where originally Tony made himself public enemy #1 or just plain hated...but he thought he was doing the right or most expedient thing.
Since, the movies are so popular, they have actually tried to make comics Tony more light hearted and relatable.

If you haven’t seen Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy and Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man movies, try to fit them in there somewhere before completing Phase 3, the background on Peter Parker might be a useful reference in the future.

Second this, due to it being vital to understand references later in the phases. You got some time but before you know it, youll be caught up. Please include the shows once thats a part of the chronological order as well since their important as well. The references dont appear until phase 4, until then its just the films.
And at least the first X-Men before watching the post Endgame films. The first 2 X-Men films and the first 2 prequel X-Men films ate great. Also, other than either Agent Carter or Agents of SHIELD (both removed from Canon, but are good) watch the Disney+ shows where they fit in the release timeline. A few of them are fantastic on their own. The Netflix shows are also non-canon but some characters may or may not appear, so Daredevil may be required. Jessica Jones S1 is good but a hard watch. I haven't seen S2. Nor most of the others.
P.S. The Iron Man suits don't stop evolving either.
