As a kid, I used to play a form of snooker on the landing with golf balls and the end of a golf club as a cue. It wasn't ideal, of course, but allowed for an interesting kind of game that definitely wasn't snooker but had similar elements.
"Video 185! What's possibly left to do, urm... snooker with golf balls?" :D Just kidding, I love your videos and your enthusiasm. Keep it up! FORE! (away)!
@@Breakfromlife I know it's not a request show, but have you done Snooker Plus, or the tactics, psychology, history, etc. of doubles snooker? Nice! Hey, because you can get snooker balls with smaller sizes, smallest quite close than a regular golf ball, could you make a comparison video with small snooker balls as well? Greetings from Turku, Finland.
Wonder if anyone else has gone underwater for golf balls for snooker videos👍 🤣 Somehow you keep making content, you must go blank at times but you always find some ideas. The effort you must make is amazing, i dont know what you do for a real job but it must give you a lot of time to think😆👍 I appreciate the effort 👍
Hey man, really love watching all your videos!! I was thinking it’d be nice if you made a video or dedicated a part of your video about your snooker table. Information about your table, cloth, the balls you use the type of cushion it has and also how much all of it cost you. Im planning to buy a table so a guide made by you would be of great help. I bet alot of other people also wanna know and have questions regarding your table. Hamza from Karachi, Pakistan!♥️
i read one of the reasons (and there are many others) snooker is harder than pool is the balls are smaller. It means you have to be more accurate as the curve of the ball is tighter. I reckon snooker balls the same size as golf balls would be harder at least for long pots, even accounting for extra space pockets would have.
Hey buddy, I have a random question. And perhaps you've answered this in the past and I just simply missed it. In today's current circuit, which professional player, is the most adept at potting balls frozen on the cushion, not as a double or treble, but the cut. In other words which player pots balls down the cushion the most efficiently?
@@Breakfromlife I agree, and with the rising talent I feel like this is a genuinely good question. I want to lead towards Judd trump, but for some reason Shaun Murphy also comes to mind.. I'm not an expert, but this seems worth looking into.
We have a set of 2 inch stripes and solids from a pub pool table and I find them so much harder to pot on a snooker table compared to full size snooker balls
I play golf as well as snooker ; so tried the golf balls on my snooker table a bit ago ,not for as long as you did though .Because the golf balls are dimpled there is not enough mass of the ball in contact with the table so screw shots just die off .Maybe you should try a set of small cheap snooker balls and see how easy it is or try and find some of the 1960’s crystalite balls ,the ones before the supers .Think you did well to get a 53 break with the golf balls .
miss the pack by a little bit and hit the black cushion with left side on the cue ball so that when the cue ball hits the black cushion, it spins to the left and into the back of the pack.
I think the weight of the ball is the reason it does not bounce correctly off the rail. The rail is not fully compressed, which with a snooker ball creates effectively a flat almost hard wall. With the lighter weight golf ball it ends up in a sort of dish shape of partially compressed rail.

Is this the concept of Chris Hendry’s “The Balls”? When you said small amounts of side over distance throw it massively off line it made me think of those.
Love it . Thought i will add to the party and went out to play golf with a snooker ball. You think your job was hard . my normal 250 yard drive was down to 10yards took me 3 days to play the round and shot 3440 on a par 72 course.
