- I found the best treasure yet at the bottom of the map.
It was well worth all those monsters attacking my poor defenseless dome home while I explored the depths.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Only look at the compass when the bar starts to rise, and the bar only rises when you’re in range.

He really doesn't trust that compass. I don't think he's realized that there's an indicator by his resources that tell him when he's getting close to a certain resource.
@@imtotallynotrene The resource meter can be really great, especially if you have the right upgrades to support it. Also when you're deep enough, having the compass to point you in the right direction can save a lot of time.
First 25 seconds and there's already the meanacing symbols, you know it's going to be a good video.

I already beat the demo. The Lift is the best gadget to keep between rounds, and best when utilized with the portal. If you can't find the lift, the condenser works well too wuth the orchard and/or monster repellant
Lift+teleporter is my favorite combo, it makes life super easy
just finished the demo, i get the 5 of them, at the final i had like 10 iron, 15-20 water and like 14 cobalt, can confirm there are the most broken combo
I beat it in the first day after downloading with condenser, repelant, stun laser and radar (the best upgrade in my opinion)

Lift+condenser+bomb maker= blast mining the whole game
Domes, hollow spheres, this one made of glass and with lasers. A creature, possibly human lives there and strips the planet of all of its minerals. The creature uses these minerals as a way of defence against the planets hostile inhabitants. How this creature got there is unknown, but it seemingly does not require sustanance to survive, or at least does not need as much of it surviving long periods of time without it.

Tip: when you get the radar there is a bar right to the ores and it tells how close you are to one

Interestingly enough, that round that you died on is the final round. After that, the game will just continue to repeat that attack over and over again. I found that with the shield, portal, and stun gun, I was able to beat the level over and over and over again without even losing Shields
He still hasn't figured out that the bars next to the minerals fill up when you get close to one.
Beat it last night! Here’s how: Keep the compass, but screw the arrows. The yellow gauge is enough once you learn that it fills if you get close. It even moves up or down slightly if you drill dirt close to the resources. Shield is an mpv. Choose your thorns or reflector, but make it block the most damage. I personally choose the dual laser because I don’t like the thicc laser stopping completely. Also had the mines which helped a bit!
Lift is probably one of the best, if not the best relic to carry over. Also I don't really like the compass that much because its easier to just dig left and right across so you don't miss anything.
....also if you feel cheeky and you have a "pile" of rocks on the floor you can grab the back 2 or 3 and use them to roll the group to the lift.

DF, Ores process while the menu is open. While the menu is open all time pauses so upgrades you can take your time with. Shield is a great upgrade but you really need to focus its upgrades asap for it to be worth while. The compass isnt as worth while if you use it to go directly for ores, and is better as a way to assist a strip mine for when you pass something while making your side to side tunnels.
Dome health and toughness upgrades are O.P.

People pointed out that the compass bar fills up when you're in proximity, but that's not really intuitive at all. Some games have a compass spin around when it can't detect, that would be helpful here
The little yellow bar next to your resources shows you how close you are to said resource.
The yellow bar beside the resource tells you how close you are to the certain resource
The yellow bar next to the ore on the far left in the inventory area indicates how close you are to specific ore (You get iron by default when you get the scanner, you have to upgrade for the other two: Cobalt, the square block for repairing, and Water the circle with the + sign in it). The compass will not point to it until the yellow bar shows you are in range of it. The shield will only damage enemies when the shield is active, after they break it, the thorn effect no longer works. The shield has two upgrades that are counter to each other: Melee return damage, or projectile reflection, you can only get one, and the other is not upgradeable after that, so only the melee take damage, or only the projectiles are reflected. Upgrade the shield health, and recharge speed to have a larger full shield that reflects damage or projectiles for longer, and gives you a larger damage buffer. The game pauses when you get on the computer, or in the upgrade menu as long as you DON'T select battle, HOWEVER, the ore processor will continue even when the game is paused, so you can go to the upgrade screen and wait for the ore to finish, do your upgrades while its paused, THEN start the fight.
Tip : Using a controller is better bc you can use both the arrows and the stick to move double the speed only work with Lazer
Hey Funny, here’s a strat idea: Look out for these 2 gadgets. Teleporter and lift. The Teleporter can get you down deep in the mines fast, and you can upgrade it to teleport you back, but you can’t bring materials with you, so just throw them into the lift and worry about upgrades later
You beat this game mode after diging trough the middle down after the wave where the boses come from both sides for the first time. Its pretty deep to dig. (Saw it from a speed run, he finished in about 20min)
The resources you bring up will automatically go into the upgrading machine even if you are paused. So no need to wait for them to process!

Keep pushing damage and neglecting drill speed, again, was the source of demise. The third upgrade wasn't really needed until like 2 or 3 waves ltr, but drill speed was already lacking behind, plus it helps you find everything faster

I feel that resources were wasted on the compass when you could have feed them into mining upgrades and simply strip mined efficiently finding everything as you went.
This is quickly becoming my new favorite game series.
Maybe dig down until you reach the core then you win if your health is super low and you don't have anything to heal?

Just to let you know. You can still jump in the upgrade screen and the ore will still process. Even if you have the pause option on.
Yellow bar next to the mats is proximity, the compass only tells direction. You have to use both. Hope that helps 😊

It's annoying to see df not understanding how the tracker works. The compass is a useless upgrade and the meter on the left of the ore counter tells you the distance to the closest ore deposit, and with minimal effort the compass becomes obsolete because you can just move around and see what makes the meter go the furthest.
It's been about a minute, and I already want to buy this game

I'm pretty sure that you can only buy one thing in the dotted boxes
I feel like a good way to optimize damage source reduction is to avoid targeting the same enemies as your stun turret, since pointing a gun at a given enemy reduces its damage output but that doesn't stack so you want those effect spread out among the greatest number of enemies possible, and to take out the weakest enemies first.
Like it might seem counterintuitive to focus on the smallest problem first but it's not like harming a big enemy stops it from harming you until it's gone entirely; harming a equivalent amount of health in smaller enemies reduces their damage output in increments of however many of them it takes for them to add up to one of the bigger guys. Starting with the weakest enemies maximizes the amount of time that you don't spend attacked by a enemy that you otherwise would have been.
The little yellow bar next to the resource logo tells you how far you are from the nearest ore. That is also the way you know whether the compass is pointing to iron or heals or not.
tip: use the cobalt to improve the resistance of the dome first, also, if u get the attractor first, is better to just improve its velocity and your drill, then your velocity and carry,
spoiler, he has not seen this gadget yet
if u get the teleporter, pick it, no doubt, with that u don't have to worry about losing time going to the bottom
One tip to increase longevity, if you are high health but have extra repair packs, use one to harden the dome to reduce damage early.

Gotta say, the radar is really good. But the looks of it ya don't understand it. Just by glancing at it and not playing the game before. It shows the compass pointing in the direction of the ore and as you get closer, a yellow bar starts to fill up depending on what ore it is next to the compass.

DF not noticing that the compass has a range before the pointer moves at all (and thus doesn't have a default placement), hurts...
"The closest iron is like 100mile southwest of me, but if that's what the game says" no... no the game doesn't say that. It only points at resources that are actually in range, look at the bar by the resource counter.

Always remember preservation of recourses is important also try new Lazer paths incase something is better for you standard I recommend the double Lazer because it deals with the birds pretty easily
You should upgrade the domes health with extra iron to get pretty much 2 cobalt repairs
If you upgrade the damage of the stun laser twice it can kill birds by itself

the problem you are dealing with is that you try to focus on upgrading your dome and not yourself. For instance, you upgraded your laser before upgrading your drill. Its a good idea to make a B line for drill 2 and then laser. At the same time it's good to take upgrades for gadgets that make the purpose they had in the first place better. Like it's not a good idea to upgrade the stun laser's damage but the duration and cooldown

For those wondering,this is old footage. The demo updated a few days ago so the repair ability is free to use from the start instead of being behind the "see health" upgrade. Meaning any advice you've given so far will not be used in this video as it was recorded before that update.
If the compas doesn't move it doesn't mean there's something far away, it means there's nothing in range. So no need to go looking for stuff far away on the horizon, exploromg more until the compas moves gives you more.
I played it to the end 2 time´s now.. is not so easy but you can do it! but i never used the Ore-scanner.
you will find any time out what is use full and what is not. best to get is the Plants and Lift! and the thing thats produce the Ball-Ore. and the stun cannon. so you ever wail win. ;) have a nice day

Hmm... I like the editing on this video a touch more than the prior videos from this game. There is a lot going on... but not as much as the very first time you tried that style, when all the editing was more of a distraction than a seasoning for the rest of the vid. I'm glad you've found a balance.
In my experience the best upgrade is the lift, teleporter, and delayer.. makes life much easier
