I love that the Canadian armed forces are using Airbus and not boeing, this tanker looks amazing and love the new air search and rescue planes (c-295) Canada recently got from you guys too...
@FrancisGuite hmmm, not once did I say anything about where it is made. Weird how you think you know something and are smart but is actually completely useless, you MUST be american. 😂😂
@@sachab9897???? It was built and developed in Spain by CASA, in cooperation with Airbus. But Airbus isn't an exclusively French company: it's an European company that brings togather many smaller aviation companies from all over Europe and is therefore intrinsically multinational/European.
Wonder how badly the Canadian Government will screw this up? Their track record on military procurement is brutal. At least they aren’t choosing to buy 30 year old Jets from. Australia this time around....
That's the only thing I have faith with the Canadian government, their ability to screw up anything they touch whether its military or civilian projects.
Plenty of time for Canada to screw this up - be patient. They will cancel the order because the ITQ looks too much like a sole source contract then re-issue a RFP five years latter and select the A330 MRTT again because the company that makes it doesn't start with the letter "B" and the Canadian government still isn't talking to the company that starts with the letter "B". Then the Canadian military will ask for a bunch of unnecessary "Canadian only" mods be added such as maple syrup dispensers and hair dryers and shoe closets and special lockers to hold pressurized hair care products in case its the VIP version that has to carry cabinet around. All of the above mods will jack up the price by at least 50% per plane and then the procurement office will sit on it for 10 more years because they can no longer afford all the planes they need because of the "Canadian mods". Years later after a series of Canadian fighter jets run out of fuel and crash they will do an emergency procurement of stock A330MRTT that are by this time next to obsolete.
The Royal 🇬🇧 👑 Air Force haves a specialized VIP KC2 A330-200 MRTT aircraft, with the Union Jack 🇬🇧 livery on their, along with a fully white fuselage.
Good to see the RCAF finally got to buy 9 x A330s. 4 will be brand new MRTTs off the Airbus lines, 4 will be converted ex civilian aircraft and one (already delivered) remained in civilian spec but painted in Canadian Government VIP livery. Similar to the RAF A330MRTT but that also doubles up as a tanker / freighter. Their cousins south of the border in the USAF will be green with envy as they continue to struggle with their boondoggle KC-46 from Boeing.
The Pacific Trading Routes makes clear refueling Planes and refueling Drones are the key. Who cares about submarines in 2041 ? What matters is today's Fighter Jets , loaded and in active mode can only fly 1000 - 1500 km., refueling is the key to secure the Pacific Trading Routes and Peace in the area. A constantly changing network of fighter jets and refueling Drones and Planes and moving bases controls these vital Trading Routes and the Peace.
So how many of this type might be required to maintain patrol and protection of Canadian Airspace? Canada's superficia isn't compact by any measurement.
And on top of that, our CP 140 auroras are almost obsolete. We will have the best tanker you can imagine to fuel a handsome of refurbished australian CF18s and a bunch of obsolete CP140s.
Can you circle self-fuel a dozen of MRTTs and make an infinite flight? the first tanker fuels the second one, ...., the last one fuels the first one. When a tanker is almost empty, its removed fromt he ring and replaced with a filled tanker. We could be the first country to maintain a permanent tanker MRTT ring in the sky. I wonder why they didn't think about that.

not comprehending why those f18's were bought shows your depth of ignorance
The only logical choice for the RCAF. Anything else would be wrong...
The best you can find in the market!
Fantastic video!
For god's sake give a raise to ur advertisement guy, he's doing a phenomenal job, loved the music

I have 11 years experience on the RAF version of this aircraft as a B1 Engineer and Mechanic, no boom but i think pods are the same, love my job!

The efficiency, power and range must be drastically better than the A310. I’d like to see a comparison.
Wondering if A330-200MRTT given a highly flexible VIP conversion kit delivered by the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC) 🛫🤓
You can basically have an ACJ version of the MRTT, it is quite similar to what Airbus has for the aircraft :0

The Boeing A310 and Lockheed CC130 already refuel the F18. Although capable Canadian CC177 doesn’t have air refuelling installed.
