You must therefore look up Larkin Poe. This band has a tip of the hat series of covers that is brilliant. Their own songs are really amazing too. They're blues rockers (mostly).
Mimi you have no idea how long I've wanted this full cover. Well at least since your short cover. Well played!!!! The expressions on your face are just priceless. The look of love and joy just permeates this video. You truly love making music it can be heard and seen. Awesome.
funny how that very last note fast-picked is my favorite part, Im always looking forward to it. Great job, I never even thought about how the guitar went in this song.
Awesome ! When we would cruise the streets back in the day, in Independence just outside of K.C. Missouri, this is one of many songs of the Beach Boys we would listen to during the summer months, with all our friends back in the 70s. Great sound fun to do. Great memories.
This is the earliest I've been and it sounds great! Love your passion for music, it shows through your playing and we can see how you get swept away into the music. Perfect!
YES FOR COVER! You rock Mimi 😎 I remember when you did this song as a short, it was nice Pretty chill fun surf mood 🎉☺️ I liked it Stay smiling and having a blast 🚀
This song is an amazing symphony. Carole Kaye laid down the bass and guitar riffs for this song. She does not get enough credit for all she contributed to music.
@@toneman501 Partially true. Glen Campbell did play guitar on some of the later Beach Boys releases. He wasn't around on the earlier Beach Boys songs, but the more Brian became averse to touring, the more involved Glen Campbell became in addition to being the session musician beginning he is known for. Having been here well over 3/4 of a Century, and the Beach Boys being one of the primary reasons I started learning guitar in 1962, to me it's understandable someone that might not be of my "advanced" years and actually lived the Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, "Surf" era could be easily confused about the revolving personnel on every Beach Boys song and who was on which session and when, in addition to actually filling in on different tours for various reasons.
This is not possible. Brian recorded the instrumentals live in the studio with minimal instrumental overdubs and only for things like the cello or the Tannerin parts. Kaye would never have overdubbed guitars, he would have used someone like Tommy Tedesco live alongside Kaye. Kaye DID play the bass though.
I have that guitar too. Made in 2001, got from a much older friend of mine and it sounds so goodly vintage. I installed a tortoise red pickguard on it 🐍
I remember my friend bringing 'in my room's to band night, he and the drummer were both ten yrs. Younger than me, and I grew up with this on little transistor radios.. well, the more I worked out the melody, the more respectful I became of the cat that wrote that tune... Same thing happened when he brought 'the look of love's and other burt Bacharach stuff, these are musicians of genius, and worth the time to unravel... Still to this day, that version of the look of of love that we put together, it just jammed. You really captured the strat tone and vibe , Mimi again your guitar chops have really moved ahead in the last year it's so good to see! Keep on your journey with that weird and wonderful six string machine, your friend AL sending all love for Mimi from the beautiful Oregon coast today, bye fer now
That was one of the cutest and bounciest covers I've seen in a while. Anyhow, it's honestly a really good take on that song. Haven't seen it done like that mixing the bass lines and improvised guitar addition.
Excellent Performance, one of my favorite songs... btw: I love that smile on your face every time *Beach Boys* start singing the main part *Good, Good, Good, Good Vibrations♪♫♪* 😊
I can see the Beach Boys having someone like you in mind when they wrote these lyrics, Mimi! Love the way you smile as you demonstrate your skill on the guitar.
Great Joy to watch your videos and listen to you playing guitar. Thank you fir inspiring and entertaining so many of us who admire your talent. God bless.
Mimi, isn't that one of the most beautiful and upbeat pop songs ever? Sweeps me away every time I hear it. I enjoy your playing, your diverse tastes, and your fine attunement to subtleties as songs like this are laced with. Got to love the crispness and clarity of Fenders. Loks like you have one of those brand-new Strats -- the "Vintage II" or something like that; I can't remember. Gorgeous shade of turquoise and a nice bright snap to the sound! Also: did you know that due to the limited number of tracks available on recording consoles back in 1966 (four or maybe eight at most) it took six months to layer all the recorded parts and segments? A labor of love for sure, and a brilliant creation by Brian Wilson. One of my most favorite songs ever. Prolific first-call session player Carol Kaye played the bass, and I believe that she composed that nimble bass line there in the studio.
Great job 👊🏼💯🙂 Used to see them live every Fourth of July in San Diego California, after the Padres baseball game. Way back in the 70s and 80s if I remember 🙂
Wonderful to hear a young person play music from my youth. And then do it excellently. Thanks for picking this one.

I thought Glen Campbell played the guitar...
@@toneman501 Nah, he was on other BB songs.
Great Comment!!
