What about oiling from the bottom holes and then turning the trumpet upside down? I’ve been doing that and it’s worked just as well as your method.
Excellent question. That way definitely works in a pinch when you don’t have time to do it the other way. It’s not quite as thorough as taking the valve halfway out but it’s pretty close!
