I like this manga for the characters, and I think the plot is more unique than others in the same genre. My problem with it is that there are often stalls in between plot points that can last anywhere from 3 to 13 chapters. I'd say I'm here more for the characters and their dynamics than for the overarching plot. Also, I feel that this story would have been better if the characters were working adults rather than kids. As a side note, I would say I enjoyed this more than the other series the author did.
Came across this vid trying to see what this Manga (and the anime) is about . But I like how you presented the video and the edits lol - entertaining 👌🏾✨
Loved your perspective in this video. Subscribed. Now time to watch more of your stuff. I hope you decide to make more content about this manga (if you have any more to say). I just got into it yesterday.
Ok the intro here has solidified my thoughts, Gigguk didn't sell it really well IMO but this review has BALLS. Guess it's time to binge the entire channel
what happened between chapter 119 and 120 lmfao "you lost your arm, sucks to suck" --> "you lost your footing, oopsie! (whole building got nuked saitama style)"
Read chapter 1 to 114 in the span of 3 days. Waiting for 115 translation. I agree with others the plot tends to stall out or drag over chapters. The characters are quite fun though
Dont really appreciate how Anko becomes part of the main group, without clear incentive at first. Don't think there is any hitman that can transition so fast in becoming friends with the person they are supposed to kill, at least not this fast. She completely just 180 flips after she almost killed somebody which makes sense, but there is no reason for the main cast to believe her, and not agonise her. I mean i wouldn't ever be able to trust that chick at all, and justifiably so. She shot me and tried to kill my crush isn't your usual 'serial killer to friends maybe more' story arc. It suggests why they start work together, but this explanation is insufficient (nazona trusts her from 10 years ago, why? any crush afterwards trying to kill me for 10 years straight is imo a massive turnoff)(additionally she seemed incredibly sorry at the moment of killing kou-kun, but yeah would you have bought that? Oh you tried to kill me now that's fine.). I wouldn't ever work with someone like that if it weren't for the only exception of strict necessity forcing me into working with what should by all regards be considered enemy #1. I wouldn't believe any word, and if you say well kou-kun has some screws lose then shouldn't nazona say something, being the literal target. These flips don't happen from 1 moment to the next. The manga after killing kou-kun pretends like 10 years didn't happen. Despite that, what the manga lacks in storytelling, it makes up for it big time by sheer characterisation, world building, and everything else. That's why i love the manga so much. It is a breath of fresh air, and something i have never read before for the great, and the less good.
I... need to reread that part/the whole thing again to really get my feeling straight on it. Initially I kinda too it straight on n didn't think too much of it but lately I've heard some good points (like yours). I've kept up w it tho n since the current chp is at a very critical point for our detective lady, I'm willing to give it some time and see what happens.
What helps is to just imagine Kou-kun as 18, because he honestly acts like he's 18. Helps with the whole minors thing. 38 year old dating a 14 y/o, while arguably nazuna is younger mentally, and 28y/o unguisu also hitting on 14y/o seems a bit off. This manga has a few unexplicable things.
My dude you have so amazing videos, i will be waiting for the day u get famous (if u keep this quality up i am sure u will manage it), and btw can u do a houseki no kuni manga review?
