Thanks Ali..
We just have to 'keep on keeping on' ...24/7 until the brain literally 'changes' ..and heals....
No other way...
Thank you so much Ali, I was only focused on disregarding my thoughts not feelings but now I realize taking the feelings seriously is the reason I keep having setbacks. I’m reducing them now thank you Ali ❤️
Hey what's your OCD is about?
Thank you, this came out just in time. I have religious OCD and am having really terrifying thoughts. I understand Jesus knows I don’t think them and the only reason He let this happen is for me to be stronger and learn to ignore the thought. God bless!❤️❤️💃💃💃💃
Amen!! Jesus knows our hearts! Like you said He let's it happen to strengthen us. That's how ocd works it wants to keep us in fear about what's going on in our heads. Its just a game it's playing like Ali says. We got this in Jesus name🙏❤
I come here for my OCD and find another stay ❣ stay strong :)
I am commenting on a current video although my comment isn't directed specifically to this video. Ali is amazing. She gets it and can put into words the odd and often terrifying nuances of obsessive thinking. I have seen an OCD specialist and honestly did not gain much insight or an applicable understanding of recovery work. Ali's videos have been a lifeline to me, and I feel like myself again a month into tracking and watching her recovery work. This is not to say I am recovered, and I still have work to put in, but a quick refresher with Ali's video get me back in the right frame of mind that I can live quite happily parallel to the thoughts that have disrupted my life. All this to offer hope to someone struggling, take Ali's advice of tracking and reducing, and just her calm and positive demeanor. If I can come as far as I have in 1 month, you can too! Thank you Ali!
what ocd did you have
Ocd been beating me up bad. I’ve gone through many themes but recently it’s been “what if ______ happens”. I had a thought like that about something that could happen this past weekend. I got the thought last month and it debilitated me for weeks. Then this past weekend happened, and absolutely none of the thoughts were true. I got a moment of relief and joy that quickly went away when a new what if thought came in following the same theme. It feels real, it bases it off real events, and I cant stop ruminating. I know this sounds like OCD and I know if I say it feels real and could be true that also sounds like ocd but idk. This video helped and I hope one day I can recover.
how have you been doing?
Everything you explained feels so similar to me. Glad to know that I’m not alone. I hope you can beat ocd. I’ve been trying to recover for a year but have completely failed
Thank you so so much for all the videos 🙏 you saved my life and now starting this year, I’m taking no days off from tracking my rumination so I can finally fully recover.
It’s crazy how well this recovery approach works
I've decided to name my feelings Karen lol.
Sorry to all the nice Karens out there.
Ali, you're a savior. So much love and gratitude. More power to you.
Thanks Ali
Your video clips give me a hope and courage
I have chronic guilt due to a what if thought from the past which has caused me to be in an episode for two months. I had explicit photographs of my ex girlfriend on my phone which I hadn’t deleted when I got into a new relationship and my brain goes ‘what if you did something to those photographs’ and ever since I’ve been ruminating analysing past events to see if it happened or not but I simply can’t remember, the only time I can remember was when I was with my ex. Also before the what if I was fine, and all of a sudden it’s like my world has come chrashing down because I feel this thing has actually happened, it feels so real, when I say to myself it hasn’t happened my brain goes ‘but what if it did, what if it isn’t OCD and what if you’re in denial because you don’t want to admit it happened.’ It’s really tough, even with a diagnosis of OCD from my therapist my brain still tells me I don’t have OCD and this thing happened. Is this false memory? And how do I expose myself without the prevention?
This sounds like false memory OCD to me, which I struggled with in the past too with a Harm theme. Human memory is faulty for everyone, which is why in eyewitness accounts witnesses can make errors in remembering details and actually imagine things that didn't happen. I disregarded these what if thoughts and didn't play into OCD's game of replaying/analyzing past events, which helped reduce the anxiety and uncertainty.
Your videos are so helpful and a huge blessing. Thank you so much Ali. May God bless you!
Hi there if I am not wrong in one of your video you side, if I am not wrong again ( when having a OCD thoughts you will somehow know it is not true) I am unable to have that knowing at all times, is that say that my OCD thoughts are real ?
U r a beautiful human .
Thank you Ali for sharing!
I have memories of things happened that is so real, but I also think it might be false memories, can false memories be so so extremely real that it can make you 100% believe it is real ?
Yes and trust me they are NEVER real just sit with the anxiety and don’t do compulsions and I know that’s hard
@@abwrld0596 sir please help me
Hi Ali, just a q, when would I expect the anxiety feeling to go? Whilst doing recovery I’m not ruminating much but still get anxiety ofc so just wondering when to expect it to go
Don't think about it going away. Leave it be and focus on something else, it'll go away by itself.
@@Crazymoviefan_23 ahh I see! It’s so hard to just get on with it, but ig that’s the only way to recover! Thank you for the help 😊
@@mmalik203 Exactly like the guy said above. If you're wondering when it'll go away, you're keeping it important. Allowing the OCD to continue asking questions.
More so acknowledge it's there, but don't make it worse by obsessing over it being there or when it'll be gone. Here's what I try and tell myself "okay there's that anxiety again, I'm going to continue to do the things I need to get done and enjoy my day!
BTW I'm still recovering myself, but have noticed that above to help. Also some breathing exercises seem to help as well.
Goodluck and keep crushing it! 🙌🏼
Thank you Allie for the advice. I've had OCD for about 30 years and it's religious OCD. Still. I have those angry thoughts saying it's God. I committed the importable sin that I'm going to. Hell. I don't believe it because I could still pray and all that but it really shakes me up. Luckily I'm giving to help from the VA and I'm going to practice on this. Thank you.
What does Ali mean by recovery work. What should we do in recovery work
Thank you so much ❤
