You are an awesome and delightful woman, like Karli. Your van is awesome, too. Stage managers have to be creative, resourceful and organized, right? Safe travels.
I met my Sister Dawn once upon a time and Sister YOU DID IT!!! I always think of Dawn. I remembering telling her I am homeless.....God Bless you guys. DAWN, YOU DID IT!!!!
I loved her energy, she seems genuinely happy and fun to be around. Her van was so cluttered and dirty I would lose my mind. If I go van life I need to remember to invest in a hand vacuum.
Who could not like this lady?? She is just soo awesome!! I adore her in only the short video! Soo down to earth and real! I will say this is one of the few UA-cam Nomads that I would like to actually meet!! I also love her taste in vans..Not just any Sienna van but a top of the line XLE AWD!
Enjoyed this interview tremendously. Dawn is a sweet and jovial character. I’m definitely going to get myself a wheel desk. Never even knew they existed. Totally cool. Of course the interview is only as good as the interviewer. I’d like to send my condolences to Dawn regarding her mother. Thank you both very much.
I just love this interview. Dawn's big smile and bubbly personality is so fun! She's right about many items we tend to refrigerate we reall don't need to. Like condiments with vinegar in them. Mayo, maybe, because it's made with eggs I think. Miracle Whip maybe ok. 🤔 I like her Ryobi fan and radio/bt speaker. And was that a go pro or a headlamp on the far left? Oh and it's sweet she has pictures. Her mom and others. That's a neat idea to make a photoboard on the headliner. BTW sorry about your mom passing. Mine been gone since Oct. 93. I'm thinking I might print photos of family and pin a few. Thanks for the idea.
Love the weirdo’s unite sticker!!! Shout out to Chrome who just lost Disco. Rest in piece little Homie. Love how all UA-cam van dwellers support each other
This is an excellent video. I also had a toyota sienna and camped out and significantly places an on finances. I chose not to work as much and van dwell as it still allows me to get by. Inspired by how you van dwellers / campers seem to manage efficiency and comfort. Pooping and power consumption efficiency is the first few things that come to mind. My body doesn't adjust to diary and I accidentally spilt urine and my own disembowelment in my van and had to fumigate. Van is still good.
After months of following Dawn’s channel and wondering what the rest of her vehicle looked like I stumbled upon this tour. I’m a fan of Toyotas and researching how I can convert a Sienna or Highlander into my full time residence. This interview was wonderful inspiration and what has sold me on a Sienna. I enjoy your channel Karley and Of course Dawn’s because of the practical value you provide. Drama and complaining doesn’t appeal to me. That said, I understand and welcome knowing about the realities/challenges that come with life as a van dweller and life in general. Thank you both for your beautiful personalities as well as enriching and inspirational content.
I really like Dawn, she's got a great attitude toward nomadic living, and tackles any challenges that come her way. She's an inspiration to all of us that are thinking about living this way. I've been subscribed to her channel for a while, and have watched with interest her growth and her disseminating the knowledge she's gained. Great interview Karli!
Her career explanation was really compelling. Creative 'fun' people have to suffer horrid living situations that dont jive with thier quiet personalities. The van life offered her a different space, she took it.
Thank you ladies for showing how van life can be a good thing !! Love how independent you can be and loved the info on how it works out to travel to a job and you have your house with you it sounds super convenient !!
What a pleasant and inspiring interview. You sound so credible and upbeat, I found myself smiling as I listened to you. I will definitely check out your channel, the Dawn of Van Life and give you a 👍🏽 Karli. Thank you both, safe travels and good karma.
I'm looking at a Sienna for a 10k road-trip, semi-camping. Seems to have the length for a decent bed, with the rear seats removed. Butane, though, is safer to use in an enclosed space, compared to propane.
Great video! Several great ideas in this interview. I'm amazed how I always learn something new or better ideals for minivan touring. New sub. from the 641.. Always thumbs up!!!
Mini vans are awesome to live in the more I see! They can be affordable and spacious depending on the buildout. I usually pick interviews based of the person, not so much the vehicle because I like the story of how they live in the tiny space whatever it may be :)
Hi Karli, I would like to add hard flooring over the floor in the middle area to make it easier to keep the floor clean. I was wondering if you were able to pull out the rollers that glide on the tracks for the middle row seats. Can you, or anyone else, tell me how you removed them? 😊
Is that you? You remind me of a lovely nerdy friend from the school district. You are living my dream. I just bought the same van this weekend! (Mine unfortunately ☹️ doesn't have a sun roof) So I'll be watching all your vids. I just subscribed. Also, I too love Chrome.
Great video....I have a 2012 dodge grand caravan and wanted to do some camping and travel with it and wanted a non permanent conversion and this gave me some ideas...Thanks...
Hey girl... Thank you for the tour... I see that she also follows Chrome from Canada ... I love her happy, joyful personality... Thanks for having the link for the "steering wheel desk". I really like that unit... Nice unit to use for eating when I buy fast food.. ( haha don't judge me). Lol
I think you need a physical mailing address to be able to receive packages from amazon. If you're a vanlifer, you could Either use a friends address or rent a PMB (Private Mail Box) at a post office.
Great video, style and attitude. I think YOU should do a book or video series on How To Do What You Do...icw stealth camping/living/existing. I wonder how you successfully camp in urban environments when upon peering in your van windows, it must be obvious that some one lives in there. I've done some very limited urban stealth camping/living in my Honda Odyssey, and I typically disguise my stuff in the 3rd seat and trunk. I NEVER leave my van alone for long periods for fear of break-ins. I also wonder how you deal with van maintenance and repair issues? Been blessed not to have any emergency repair needs, but I've been either shadowing my van during simply jobs, and removing everything into storage when my van must be worked on for extended jobs. How are you managing this? I too enjoy people interactions...but only sparingly. I like my privacy and solitude. One thing I know for sure, I had to stop driving around with excessive non-camping related valuables and important documents in my van. I regularly remove unneeded stuff to my storage space. Kudos to you The more space you have the more stuff you acquire to fill it!
Does anyone know where I can find that fan I live in Florida and when the hurricane season come it gets real hot with no electric and that would come in handy at least just to sleep so you’re somewhat cool so if anyone knows where I can find it let me know
Thanks Karli! This was a fun day.
The Dawn of Vanlife I had a great time making videos :)
You are an awesome and delightful woman, like Karli. Your van is awesome, too. Stage managers have to be creative, resourceful and organized, right? Safe travels.
Butane at Asian markets. I've seen them in packs of 4 for $3.99 to $4.99.
Dawn... you're an awesome free spirit. Stay that way if you can!
I've been watching Dawn for a while. This morning, I found out that Siennas are one of the longest running vans!
Dawn has a nice personable attitude with a great smile!
She is super fun to be around!
Just a suggestion. Most places have an Asian or Latin market. You can always find butane their and for cheap.
I met my Sister Dawn once upon a time and Sister YOU DID IT!!! I always think of Dawn. I remembering telling her I am homeless.....God Bless you guys. DAWN, YOU DID IT!!!!

What a great solo vanner, she was wonderful to watch and listen to.
I loved her energy, she seems genuinely happy and fun to be around.
Her van was so cluttered and dirty I would lose my mind.
If I go van life I need to remember to invest in a hand vacuum.
Good for you Dawn! So glad you made the choice to go this route.
Dawn always has such good energy!
Yes! She does!
Love Dawn's personality!!!
She is the best!!
This poor lady. I feel so bad for her. She is such a positive person.
Thank you RT!

Dawn is smart, has such a cute, upbeat personality and a clever van set-up. She is well suited for this lifestyle. Good interview!
Wow this brought back some memories I've been following Dawn ever since 🐝 and now she's in a box truck LOL

I enjoyed dawn's happiness, she is a happy lady doing things her way. Love it. Thanks karli.
Dawn- I love your joyous contagious attitude!! Keep smiling!!
Great interview. It's nice to see different ethnicities venture into Van life.
Her career explanation was really compelling. Creative 'fun' people have to suffer horrid living situations that dont jive with thier quiet personalities. The van life offered her a different space, she took it.
Glad to see dawn on here. She’s one of my fav youtubers

Home Depot sells Ryobi products.
Love dawn. I want a sienna to part time travel in and she has some good ideas.
Yes! The cot bed idea is a really good move because it removes the weight and immobility of a built in bed! She had a ton of good ideas.
Great interview ! Love the Ryhobi fan .
Such a great idea, right!?
I Sub to Dawn nice lady hopefully she'll start making a few $ on u-tube soon. Love the Van set up
