If you are in such a location and feel like you are being watched...You ARE being watched, folks know the cars and trucks that belong up in that holler, and if you aint in one, you ARE being watched. the good news is if you break down or get stuck somoen will be happy to help. Threy may ber curious about what your doing in their neck of the woods, but they will help."out for a drive and got turned around" is a pretty solid explination .
Never even thought of WV until my daughter moved there, her husband took her "back home" WV is one of the most beautiful places. I go by train & the green is just amazing.the ride up the mountain is spectacular. 💚
I'm house bound so I love these ride a longs ! We used to do this in the 60's we would just drive out into the country and each time just turn off on a road we had never taken before, there are some really cool places out there.
My brother was born in W. VA and we moved from there to Pittsburgh. I always loved the creeks and streams of those hilly regions. So relaxing just to sit next to one.
Great info 👍🏻 now I understand what a holler is. This looks like a place to get away from the nastiness of the world. Great adventure, thanks 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Loved this vid! Hollers kinda fascinate me. They always look like something out of The Land That Time Forgot. It’s so easy to forget that this America exists alongside us. Thanks for showing us ALL the sides of America! 😊
I like doing all kinds of different videos, but these ones here are some of my favorite. I been all over the world but West Virginia has something special about it for sure, and being in these hollers is so cool!
I grew up in the countryside of an island in the Caribbean. To this day living in the United States for decades, I can still see you before you see me😅 We had nothing else to do!
I enjoyed this clip. I was Born in Fairmont and my family moved when I was 8 yo at the time so I don't remember too much about it. It looks like a nice place if you like peace and calm and your own company, which I do. Thank you for sharing.😃👍
A lot of roads are maintained because the post office needs to deliver mail. But the roads can be very rough especially with the twists and turns. I have some footage of going up and down the mountain roads if anyone wants me to post those I can do that.
Interesting HNH. Because I was born & raised in a "flat" state in the Midwest, I find those hills to be intimidating and eerie. I don't think I would want them right behind my home and I'd never step outside at night either. Having said that- I admire those that do. I also get a kick sometimes of the crazy things people have in their front yards. I think I saw a Lay-Z-Boy recliner. 😊
Western NC, Blue Ridge Mountains. I live a mile & a half down a one-lane gravel road, waaay back on the holler. It's an awesome life. Wouldn't trade it for a million $$ mansion.
Reminds me of the foothills in northern california. We call it Gold Country, people cane from around the world to pan for gold. Coloma, Auburn CA area along highway 49
Eye likes 👍🏽 👌🏾 it down there Year's ago but now it's nothing there but a couple of his friends still living there we hasn't been down there innnnn about 3 years now
So if you don't mind me asking in your video where is that at I didn't see where it said that was I would love to go there and visit that area really a lot of West Virginia thank you very much
Thanks for sharing this. ALways good to explore a holler. But gotta watch out for residents who are "proprietary". Thank you for taking the risk for us.
Slice of real America no cookie cut outs here...some of the property in TN and Kentucky is so cheap and sometimes with dozens of acres...cheaper than rural Bulgaria..i do love the look of so many parts of America like TN or Kentucky Appalachian hills area its not perfect but what is but its definitely beautiful in parts...👍🏴🏴🏴
Because that’s the only flat part. Probably a creek right behind them. The key property was the one with the gate at the top of the hill. Lots of privacy up there.
What happens in the winter at the top? Is it a private road the residents have to plow out? It's beautiful country. Reminds me on the valleys in Central NY.
I have property in WV and it’s down in the holler. I love it but it’s also lonely. Store is a far drive and the hospital is so small you have to be life flown out for anything more than a cut. So breath taking though! That’s why it’s called God’s country
Thats a really good question. There's definitely no room in many of these spots for a field or even a holding tank. Interestingly enough I see city taps in some very off the grid places.
@@hoodsnhollers Yeah, I was looking, and did not see any manhole covers or fire hydrants along that road, so that is what had me wondering about wells and septic.
I grew up in a West Virginia holler and it didn’t look junky. People took care of their property where I lived. It looks like it got cleaner-looking the further you went. I loved growing up in the holler. We climbed the hills all the time, rode bikes a lot, played tin can alley in the summer evenings. It was a great life.
Как эти люди живут здесь? Я бы сказал, так же живут люди на Кавказе, в Армении, в Грузии, в Дагестане... Люди очень хорошо знают друг друга, помогают друг другу.

Thanks so much for watching Nancy!
No loud music. No commentary. Just wondetful places that I'll never get to go to. Thank you ❤
Thanks so much for watching! I got a ton more videos like this coming up in the future, if ya'll want 'em!
My brother was born in W. VA and we moved from there to Pittsburgh. I always loved the creeks and streams

Crumbling houses aside, it's a pretty area. Would have been fun as a kid, hiking and stomping around the woods....
I'm torn between loving this place..and being terrified out of my mind.
I'm from West Virginia and lived in a holler. Thank you for the video, I miss home so much.❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Great info 👍🏻 now I understand what a holler is. This looks like a place to get away from the nastiness of the world. Great adventure, thanks 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
West Virginia is stunning in person - no pic or vid can really capture the natural beauty, but this was close! Thanks for the ride :)
Thanks so much for watching!
Liived out in the country for awhile in Decatur, Tennessee, the most beautiful scenery ever, hollers everywhere, just loved it❤.
No commentary. I like what you do, Fella

I like what you do, Fella, providing a window into worlds on the other side of the planet from where I live. All the best!
I liked your narrative along with the calming effect of the drive.
This is my favorite drive so far. Not depressing and quite charming. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
@@hoodsnhollers what part of wv?
Sure this is a wonderful place, but I remember watching a movie called the wrong turn, can't help but to think of it, and get creeped out
That's such a great place for someone who enjoys the outdoors.
The quality of simple place simple life simple being is an affirmative blessing for health and long life
I grew up in the countryside of an island in the Caribbean. To this day living in the United States for decades, I can still see you before you see me😅 We had nothing else to do!
When I was able I would travel to West Virginia to visit my aunt and uncles I would seek out the hollers. Thanks for this video I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching!

Great video.....but what's it like up there in winter ? I'll guess you could be snowed in for weeks at a time.
A lot of roads are maintained because the post office needs to deliver mail. But the roads can be very rough especially with the twists and turns. I have some footage of going up and down the mountain roads if anyone wants me to post those I can do that.
for ppl who love the countryside, its really beautiful! reminds me of beautiful countryside areas of central Portugal (where im from)
My mom lives in Germany and this week. She is flying to Portugal and doing one of those four day river cruises.
It's cute, adorable and fairytalish 🥺😍❤️
Having grown up in SW Virginia I am well aware of hollers, simple life simple people.
The social center of any holler is the school bus stop.
God bless the families there. It's very sad. Ty for showing other's.
Whats sad about it? The hollers are great
My pappy and gramma are from West Virginia. I miss the beauty of nature. I love this holler.
It’s absolutely gorgeous I think! Thanks for watching
@@hoodsnhollers , you are welcome 😊
Different climate for sure but the same feel as many little desert towns here in Arizona.
Thank's for this. Best video yet. Songtsen.
Nice ride. Reminds me of a road in Brethitt County Kentucky.
Reminds me of anywhere in the Anthracite Coal Region of PA where I grew up.

Many beautiful areas throughout, I’ll be uploading many of them in the future!
Why are some of the houses built literally right off the road? Seems dangerous for the homeowners. But the landscape is beautiful.

A lot of times these roads do get taken care of because of the post office needing to deliver
Definitely took an idea from the Swiss to make a good defensive point using nature 👍
Wow, a road with a double yellow line! Would not want to meet a car coming the other way!
QUE LUGAR FANTÁSTICO.
Do the homes have running water? If so, does it comes from wells? Surely not the creek...
...almost heaven
good video, thanks!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 💓

I have 3 years left before I retire from the military and I’d love to retire some place in DubV like this but I don’t think the wife will be down lol
I notice a pack of sidewalks, just grass verges if you are lucky.
I liked it thanks
Looks like McDowell County. The Welch area
I love sight seeing
Surprised its blacktop I bet it will turn to gravel before you get to the end
What’s the zip code in this area. Would like to buy house in the area
I know I have been in this holler. Can't put my finger on it. Could you post this location please?
Leckie, West Virginia on Google Street View (which only has a 2009 street view, so this video is MUCH better).

Be good to see these hollers in Summer with the trees in full foliage …
How do they squeeze septic tank drain fields in such narrow confines and not mess up down stream wells?
Thats a really good question. There's definitely no room in many of these spots for a field or even a holding tank. Interestingly enough I see city taps in some very off the grid places.

Can you please let me know where this place is?
This here stuff is be awesome brother may the lord watch over u's and your Family and your Furbabys
What happens when a car is coming from the other direction? I don't see any Circle K, QT or 7/11. Where do they get gas?
Don't forget…old tires and rusty, oil leaking auto parts are a staple too.
Yeah I'd move there
Where exactly is this place?
Real country
👍👍👍
very nice nature. If someone could pay for my flight from europe to america I would love to see it in person 😁
mega content /channel that looks like the movie next of kin with patrick swazye 1989 wow amazing stuff

After watching another channel about hollers. I think I prefer "hollers."
как там живут люди?
no choice one of the most poorest part of the USA .

It's an interesting video but this is a depressing poverty pocket. This is a horrible place. What are you guys talking about ? Stunning?
