    The most heartbreaking thing about the ending is the fact that Vi never actually left Powder. She walked away, yes, but she didn't go very far and kept her in eyeshot. I think she just needed to clear her head, and she wanted to be on her own for a while to do that.
    She also immediately tried to get back to her when she saw Silco, and it's just as heartbreaking that Powder will never know that.

      Or will she…?

      No she won’t, vi could tell her whatever she wants, but she’ll always believe what she felt for all those years

      @@samuelbrown4764 impressions are perspective are very powerful forces in a humans mind. I used to resent my mother because I believed her when she said she would always be there for me when I needed help. When in fact she never was when I did go to her. Always snippy side comments or never acting like what I said was really important or serious. The thing is we don’t always know what’s really going on in another persons head. We don’t know if the terror and fear we show when we’re afraid makes them unintentionally throw up their walls because they never learned how to deal with those problems either. We can’t assume there’s malice when someone does or doesn’t do what we want. That was a huge thing I learned going to a therapist. I am not a victim, I put that expectation on her and when she didn’t come through I blamed her, I put that on myself. The thing is where the road takes powder(jinx) she slowly loses that side of herself that can separate and rationalize things. She becomes far more reactionary and at the same time what she does or wants to do reflect all of the emotions she still harbors. As someone has mentioned before even it vi did tell her what really happened thar can’t just erase this large story that jinx has been telling herself for years. This story of distrust and hurt. And for how jaded she is now, I doubt she would truly believe it rather thinking it’s just something vi is doing to make things better but one final contrast is how powder and jinx fight with each other. Jinx tries to discard powder for the weakness she feels it brings her. Which is also vi has a hard time getting jinx to accept her offer because vi is appealing to the powder she knows and jinx is the person powder changed herself into. So it’s like, you’re looking for powder but there’s no powder here, there’s only jinx and jinx isn’t interested in your offer, because at the end of the day after how much self rejection of powder and her past she’s done I don’t think jinx thinks she can go back, if she can go back at all

    I think it's safe to say that Powder was heavily traumatized by that day on the bridge when Vander led the underground against the Topsiders, even though Violet tried to protect her from seeing it. So, after losing her parents, she latched onto her sister to keep herself stable. She wants to be useful, and being told by Violet that she isn't ready, and then being left behind- unable to do anything- was really weighing on her emotionally. Seeing the magic crystals and realizing that one caused the explosion, her first thought was that she could be useful, not about how dangerous that explosion was. So she made some modifications to the monkey and rushed over there to help. After she accidentally killed Mylo, Claggor and eventually Vander, and realized it, she immediately broke down again, and her sister lashed out at her and left to cool down after hitting Powder- Vi was just leaving *her* in her eyes. And that broke her. Then when Silco came along and seemed concerned about her, she rushed to him for comfort, even if she knew who he was. I think Silco, in that moment when he heard that Violet had left Powder, felt a kinship with her, knowing the pain of betrayal from someone close to him. For Powder it was her actual sister, and for Silco it was Vander when he tried to kill him.

    I love the mirroring in the filmography between the shot where Vander grabs Silco by the throat, and the moment where Vi grabs Powder by the throat. Also where Powder says she's not my sister anymore, and Silco looks up at Vander, who is not his brother anymore.

    This song is so fucking perfect, this just tears me apart. One of my sisters cut herself off from our family so this hits really, really hard. Plus the facial expressions are so realistic, every little movement thought out. Watching this a second time, I'm catching a lot of details I missed.

    This isn't Spiderman or Godzilla where people get superpowers from being hit by fallout or something, I wouldn't worry about stuff like that or who is a champion in the game etc. this will just distract you from the show. The story tells you everything you need to know and everything it doesn't is how it is supposed to be, you know some mystery is good.

    Goosebumps indeed. The show was good in the beginning no doubt but after this episode I knew this was really something truly special. It gave me emotions and made me feel so much for all the characters. Add in the amazing visuals, soundtrack and storytelling and Arcane has quickly shot up to the top Netflix shows of all time.

    I dont know if its been mentioned but Vi didn't abandon Powder, she realised she was hurting her sister, didn't want to hurt her more and went to cool off but keep in mind that she kept within line of sight so she wouldn't lose her

    Silco was getting ready for some serious hostile operations with all those weapons, shimmer, and thugs. Powder blew it all to bits and set him back a great deal, but he still took her in.
    That foreboding theme you hear as Vander is dragged away after Silco says "I'll show you what you really are"? You have heard it, or something very similar, in one of the League trailers you've watched, and it probably is no coincidence.
    Anyway, thanks for sharing the reaction, looking forward to more!

    Yeah, I could see why everyone would keep asking for episode 3. I've watched reactions for 3 from UA-camrs I don't normally watch.
    Its largely believed among fans that Vi realized what she was doing to Powder and left to try to cool her head. She needed time to process everything that just happened and she was likely afraid she would strike her sister again if she stayed any longer. She is still human after all, she has her limits. She likely didn't think that anyone else was still alive.

    This is a fan theory, not a spoiler, since it is currently unconfirmed.
    To the best of my knowledge there is no character in the game named Vander. However it is a popular theory among the fans that Vander will become a champion named Warwick, who is noted to be the only one of his kind. There are several hints to suggest it. If its true then it would mean he survived after all, or was resurrected somehow. I don't know much about the character though. At this time I'm still waiting for Act III to come out, so we will find out soon enough... maybe.

    • @nihlify
      @nihlify 3 роки тому +1

      Narratively, does he have to be alive though? I mean, if all the characters in the game could never die it would take a lot of suspense out of the show. (Not sure how much story the game actually has, have only tried a few games years ago).-

    • @navifairy6287
      @navifairy6287 3 роки тому

      @@nihlify To be honest, I'm not sure if he is alive or not. This is an origin story, so the champions effectively have character shields. However there isn't a champion named Vander. Warwick, the Uncaged Wrath of Zaun, isn't human, but he also isn't a creature that exists naturally this world and was the subject of experiments. Who he was before those experiments remains unknown, but he appears to have a connection to Vi and Jinx. I can't remember all of them off the top of my head, but he has unique dialogue when interacting with them during the game.
      A number of champions have unique dialogue when coming across or fighting certain other champions, as well as generic dialogue when dealing with any other champion. Its from these interactions that players started to believe that Vi and Jinx were sisters, something that was never confirmed until Arcane.
      While I haven't finished the season, so far none of the champions I've heard of have died. Although like you I haven't played the game in a few years, but I couldn't find a champion by the name of Vander on the list.
      Granted there is some differences between the game's lore and what we've seen in the show. *Minor spoiler for episode 4!* I later found out that Vi's video game backstory she had no memory of how she got her iconic tattoo on her cheek, but took her name from it. Here she was Vi all along.
