Great! I especially like the idea of someone just parking their ships in this city, like there is a conference or something. You stand up, go to work and there is a floating mountain parked over you...XD
They're here for the Comic Con. When the event planners told the invited guests to bring their ships, they didn't really think that they would actually bring their ships! As a result, parking is a little tight.
Outrageous
This is by far one of the best Space Ship size comparisons I've seen. It's always nice to see the ships next to things we can relate to, not just floating in space with a white background. Very well done. Looking forward to the next one! EDIT - I would add some people standing around the ships in the next one. Again, great job!
Thanks. Well, my knowledge of unreal engine is still kind of limited at this point.
@@Halfscreen Not sure of the claims made by sky, due to the absence of the Runabout from Star Trek.
Best ever size comparison of Sci-Fi starships. Love that you had Thunder fighter and Spaceballs One!!! So comprehensive! Even had Gunstar and Space 1999 Eagle. So cool!!!
Awesome. It was really good to see all my favourite space ships from all my favourite sci-fi movies and series in the one video. Brilliant effort, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
There's only one that I didn't see: the NSEA Protector. Fantastic video.
I love that the Argo/Yamato was part of this from Starblazers! These videos are not complete without her! Thank you!
Our pleasure!
I love how Tardis already wins at beginning of the video by being ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ (and it goes on forever) in length, width and height inside it.
It can be as big or take any shape it requires on the outside as well, all of those shapes could have different functions themselves. Every ship you see time lords flying around in could be a Tardis as I assume they can look like actual ships as well.
Kudos for including Starbug, Red Dwarf and the Yamato.
This deserves props solely for including the Blake’s 7 Liberator
As always an amazing video. Your work never fails to be top-shelf!
Thank you very much!
By far the best spaceship size comparison video! You could have added a Titan from Eve Online (maybe Avatar or Erebus), but otherwise it's grandiose.
Really enjoyed this video and the clarity of the rendering.
Awesome, thank you!
Love the addition of Oddssey from Ulysses 31 :D 7:12
That was rad! Loved seeing ships docked on actual ‘docks’ like just chillin around the city. Nothing warms my heart like seeing that gorge Borg cube tho✨🧊
I always find it so comical how absolutely enormous the Event Horizon was, considering it was only crewed by a handful of people.
Quite comprehensive with a few suprise inclusions. Thank you very much!
Thanks for this - the city background to give scale was very useful. Also, it's great to have ships from "forgotten" things like Ulysses 31 included - I've got it's theme song stuck in my head now!!!!!
The Ulysses 3D was given to by one of my audience, otherwise, I wouldn't know about it.
The real life setting makes it easier to understand how big these are. Points of reference are so important for these size comparison videos. This was great.
This is fantastic. The realistic location takes the concept to a new level.
Bloody thoroughly enjoyed this
It's amazing watching them all in a "real" scenario. So, the scales are easier to asimilate. Great work!
Thanks a lot!
Cool video dude! I love the background for comparison.
Awesome thank you!
Thank You. Your videos just keep getting better!
Yes, I wanted to try something different by using the unreal engine.
Great idea placing them in a city environment.
Yes, I really like the moving cars and people.
GORGEOUS video.
I LOVE the use of a city for scale.
Thank you, very much for creating this.
☮
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow that was awesome im gonna watch again
Okay this is the cool stuff my inner nerd has been waiting for please don't stop making this great content because believe me you have my interest
These ship comparisons are just AWE-INSPIRING!!! It just brings back memories of my childhood going through the vehicle sections of POPULAR SCIENCE and EYEWITNESS books and ogling the possibilities of what could have been and could still be!
Best size comparison I've seen so far
Very nice! Like the city backdrop
Straight up....when i saw the Gunstar from the Last Starfighter, i knew this vid was legit......well done!
Amazing video! Your work is incredible.
Thank you! Cheers!
Your channel is truly a work of art.
Thank you so much 😀
You even included The Odyssey from Ulysses 31! Love that ship and show 👍
I don't recalled seeing the series. Some random viewer sent me the 3D model, otherwise, it wouldn't have made it.
@@Halfscreen If you had seen it you would probably recall the kicker itro song!
ua-cam.com/video/OZ4c1X5ene8/v-deo.html
Wow! Amazing work!!!
Glad you think so!
Well done, you've captured 30 years of dreams for me.
Turns out this is what I've been waiting for 😲
So happy to see some anime representation with the Macross ships! I'd love to see you have a Legend of the Galactic Heroes comparison at some point, the ship designs are so simple but iconic.
Genesis climber mospeada reference! You have my subscription on that alone!
The best size comparison so far even people walking about great stuff ! And show casing the power of Unreal Engine 5
It's nice to see a few of the old classics - Liberator and the Space 1999 Eagle among them - among the new stuff. Well done.
Thanks for your videos. I miss Home World Mother Ship
Thanks for watching!
@@Halfscreen Thanks for your videos again, You are Great ; )
I loved it that you included some ships from Star citizen ..thank you
No problem 😊
Brilliant idea to use an active cityscape for reference. You really upped your game on this one!
Thanks.
Too bad that the SDF-1 wasn't next to a city for size reference, since it had a city inside it, a small city at that, but still a city.
This is my favorite of the ships size comparisons...by far! Using Unreal was the game changer here...because it allowed you to give the viewer context with more in-scene size refernces like moving people, parked cars...and being more embedded in between buildings, etc. Wonderfully done!! 👏
Thanks, it took me awhile to figure out how to use the Unreal Engine, but the cityscape sample was awesome to use.
TARDIS is still bigger
@@epiciddrwhodavid1 Internally maybe, but externally, not so much. And this was all external size comparison.
Very well made as usual!
Thanks again!
Nicely done always impressed by your videos
I appreciate that
the size comparison was an outstanding touch, especially with the star trek ships. also thanks for including imperial measurements for those of us that landed on the moon. awesome video
Glad you liked it! I'm from the states, so imperial measurements is a must.
@@Halfscreen can't wait for your enterprise e video. any chance you could include scale comparison objects with that as well? i have a bit of a love for the sovereign class and always wondered just how big it was. galaxy, too. they're just incredible vessels
@@maxfreedom1710 Yes, sizes are typical on my videos.
Wow. Love the beginning with the ships on the piers
Glad you enjoyed
Fantastic job. Different strokes for different folks You Get an A+
Thank you kindly!
Thanks! Love to see Elite Dangerous and Star citizen.
Amazing video. thank you so so much
Glad you liked it!
Great job!
Thanks!
Super cool man
It appears that I'm the only one that appreciates The Lexx, the most powerful weapon in the two Universes. Thank you for including it!
No problem. Its probably one of the most requested ship.
WOw that took some work. IMpressive!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Such great work!
Glad you think so!
Very cool!!
Great video! Lots of ships I didn’t expect to see. Loved seeing the event horizon! If you do another one ever, I’d like to ask for some Farscape ships. Thanks!
Yay for Thunderbird 3!
I love your vids man, please keep them coming. I was hoping maybe one day you could do a cross section vid of the Rocinante, would love to see that. But on the same subject, I have one critique about this vid (and it's something everyone does) the ships of The Expanse should be depicted vertically (except the Razorback, Behemoth and the rock hopper) as that is how they are orientated internally (picture Dutch Town houses, as that's their inspiration) and it appears to me that the other ships orientation matches internally. It's only a little niggle and FYI in case you haven't seen the show. But still, fantastic vid as always.
Its on my to do list.
@@Halfscreen I shall look forward to seeing it 😁 thank you
Great work 🥳🥳🥳 Thank you 💜💜💜
Thank you! Cheers!
Gunstar, Thunderfighter and the Lexx, Excellent. Good to see they havnt been altogether forgotten in this age of hype over homage :). Good Video.
these fighters are usually recommended in past videos.
Increíble como siempre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty Awesome!! It just needs Legends of the Galactic Heroes Ships!
The Liberator is probably my favourite starship ever, but kudos for putting Thunderbird 3 in even though it wasn't really a starship.
I cheered a bit seeing the Yamato, good vid.
Great video... never appreciated the scale but the city back drop gave me something that I can put into perspective to the size of the vessels.👍
Yes, having the city as the background does give a better perspective overall
How does this not have 15 million views? Well done
Don't know.
awesome job
Thanks for the visit
Great to see Eagle one here, very underrated spacecraft, imho. The Liberator design is a bit off though, must be a fan's reimagining of it as it looked pretty different in the show. Great to see it included here too, though! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah. The liberator was just some rather 3D model I dl on the internet.
I liked the re-imaging. Also a good size for the Liberator too, when it has been difficult to pin that down.
Fantastic! I've always wondered for these kinds of vids, where do you find the assets?
Years of collecting 3D models and buying them on various sites.
Thanks for adding the LIBERATOR from BLAKES 7
It would be really cool to do a real world proposed space craft size comparison. Stuff like Orion Pulse rockets, Sea Dragon, Saturn C-8 Nova, etc
Great Job. Like seeing the EVE RIFTER(3:20), and the EVE Megathron(7:00).
Ah yes, the Rifter, which I think of as "The Official Ship of Gettin' Your Ass in Trouble." 🤣
6:50 Seeing that Starcrat Battlecruier in its majestic, kilometer long glory, and comparing it to the size of everything else, really puts into perspective when one of them is blown out of the sky by a couple of hydralisks.
The Jupiter II was highly flexible. It changed sizes throughout the series.
It had 3 levels something I found strange as a Kid !
@@richardg1426 It was inflatable!
Did you know that the "Thunderfighter" from the V Show "Buck Rogers In The 25th Century", was designed by Ralph McQuarrie as a design for Star Wars, but was rejected. Don't waste your designs, just recycle them to the next people that need a starfighter.
No. It was a prototype Viper for Battlestar Galactica.
I appreciate the inclusion of a bunch of ships I haven't seen in previous videos, like the Starship, Donnager, and Avalon.
EDIT OMG SPACEBALL ONE :D
Thanks for watching.
Good start. Here are some to include next time:
Moya (Leviathan class) - Farscape
Wraith Dart - Stargate
F-302 Interceptor - Stargate
Daedalus (Daedalus Class) - Stargate
SA-43 Hammerhead - Space: Above & Beyond
USS Saratoga- Space: Above & Beyond
The Ark - The 100
Babylon 5 Station - Babylon 5
Knowhere prison - Guardians of the Galaxy
Trimaxian Drone Ship - Flight of The Navigator.
The Thunder Road (And the aliens' ships!) - The Explorers.
4:50 could have put another ship there, this one still in concept XD, the 890j is just 5 more meter and finished^^ . great video nonethe less :)
Awesome video. I was just hoping the Terran Wraith fighter from Starcraft was there.
Just WOW 😲😳🤯💥🤘
Thanks for showing the sizes in feet too.
Any time
7:47 - Galactica and Pegasus are 2 separate ships. Their full names are Battlestar Galactica and Battlestar Pegasus.
The Bucket and the Beast.
Glad to see StarCraft represented, especially the Protoss.
Man, I used to play Starcraft on a daily basis.
@@Halfscreen You'd think such a popular game series would be brought up in more sci-fi type discussions/comparisons, but for some reason StarCraft seems frequently overlooked. It's a bit frustrating since the Protoss are pretty much my favorite alien species in, like, anything.
By far, the most probable near future space ships are the Star Fury, the Gunstar and The Eagle. The Discovery is another possible candidate, and looks like it could become real some day. A lot of these are fanciful, and are hard to believe becoming real some day. But it was a blast to see all of these ships onscreen showing their relative sizes compared to each other. Great job!
HT, this clip is your best, I believe. Love the intensity of the music.
Thanks Dale. I like using the unreal engine. Something different.
Awesome work. The comparison to the New York skyline is genius. It really gives us a scope as to the scale of these magnificent vehicles.
Maybe something to add....some aircraft like Fighter jets and 747 aircraft?
I thought about expanding to different genres.
I disagree considering the title said "starship size comparison", but the Space Shuttle would be a cool addition in the future! 😄
@@megamanx466 It was only for the purpose of seeing the scale of the ships. Fighter jets may not be necessary but to use a Airliner as a size guide would have been useful. But that's just me.
Super cool Fantastic
Thanks for watching.
Super job! You really brought back memories. I wonder where the phsarious would have fit in
Never heard of the phsarious
So cool Video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Great Video
Thanks for the visit
Superb video.A beautiful display of creator's work. Would love to see Titan and the dreg ship from Titan A.E and The Hope from The Outer Worlds.
Really cool comparison video. Needs some more ships from Stargate. And a few of those are actually classified as space stations.
*fingers crossed there's a Blue Midget in this one!*
I didn't even know about the Blue Midget.
A Blue Midget in one of these would be great. Could you also include both versions of Red Dwarf herself in one vid please? 😁
Great video! But where's Planet Express? :(
Excellent video 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
“Will the owner of a gray starship with registry number, NCC-1701, please go to your ship? Your running lights are on.”
“The yellow zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only.”
I love these kinds of comparisons, but no one ever puts in the N.S.E.A. Protector from Galaxy Quest nor the Orville from Orville.
Or the axiom
USCCS Nostromo is my favourite starship! :)
