These are great but as a large class teacher in Asia, it's not always that simple. Here are a few common problems I've come across.
    1. The school itself (principle) does not have a disciplinary system in place.
Students do not care about the lesson and act out to their peers causing a major disruption to the classes. These students do not care about other students and act out constantly for laughs and attention. With this in mind, because there are no consequences, you have no way to control outright bad behavior. It becomes worse when students know learn this.
    2. Parents do not teach their children respect for the teacher and on top of that, they do not want to hear anything negative about their child. I have seen it as far as a student stealing a cellphone from a teacher and when the video footage was shown to parents, they reprimanded the school for videoing the act and asked that the teacher be removed from the class. These kind of parents are more common than you think.
    3. Students do not have to pass a test to move to the next level. Schools are very money orientated and failing is not an option therefore some students know they do not have to make an effort to get to the next level.
    4. Students behave negatively toward the teacher. Here are a few real examples I have come across.
Young male and female students have groped teachers breasts or private parts. When reported to the principle, he said they are curious.
Students did not receive a reward (candy) because no student did the work (basic colouring and dot to dot worksheets) Students took it upon themselves to storm the teachers desk, hold them down and forcefully take the reward.
A student kicked the teacher in the shin as a joke and when reported to the principle he said it was because the student liked them.
Students make derogatory statements to their teacher. Example: teacher; f*ck you. teacher; suck my d**k.
These are the real problems that need to be solved in large classes. If you have any ideas on how to solve these issues within the boundaries presented, I would love to hear.

That's awful to hear. I'm a teacher of English in middle school. I've been teaching for 17 years now. I usually teach large classes. They're most of the time between 35 and 38 students. Misbehavior is a common phenomenon; especially from students coming from poor social classes. So, discipline is very necessary to maintain order. As a man, I impose order. I make girls sit alone; one for table and one behind the other in one line. Then I make boys sit next to girls. I usually put the "heroes" in the front of the classroom. I keep my lessons short, slow and clear.

Thank you very much for your insight. I'll have 4 large classes soon and I am terrified because I usually teach very small groups. 😭
