Your tips were so valuable, man! I hope you'll make more videos like this and turn it into a series. I would watch you giving critiques and actually changing stuff for hours
Currently a 3D character art student (at Think Tank), and these types of videos help me improve so much! Thanks for all the content and hard work, Jared! One of my favorite 3D channels on the platform!
it would be awsome if you share a bit about your desk setup . i think there is very little information about most optimal desk setup for a character artist or digital sculptor . i have a display tablet and since i got one i tried many different monitor / keyboard arrangements and couldn't find a comfortable one
I don’t know if there’s much of an optimal set up, I just kind set things up till I find what’s comfortable for my back 😅 but maybe a desk tour at some point
I’m so desperate for a what skills to obtain first video, just a break down of the skills you learned in order from the beginning of your career. What order should I learn 3D in order to get a foot in the door for character work. I know a lot of the order is arbitrary but an example helps immensely especially for beginners.
find a personal project that you will be motivated to finish, plus will excite clients later down the line... look at what your interested in honestly and find something that motivates you. learn how to sculpt or model that thing, then learn how to texture it basically. 3d is hard and you have to be motivated to sink in 5 or so years of your life into it to get good, you need the intrinsic motivation there firstly.
Hey Jared! Random question, where did you get that anatomical model you have in the background? I'm looking to buy one, but I haven't found a good one yet

@@jchave7 Awesome! Thanks so much for the answer!
It seems like the discord link is missing! Amazing video as always!
Link is now in the description! 🫀
I would love to join the Discord but i cant find the link :(
Link in the description!
what platform does it use and is it better than blender?
I use multiple applications. They’re all for different purposes. And I prefer them so that’s what I use. Not really a matter of better.
How could we get feedback? Is this a discord thing?
Ya I usually take submissions on discord!
@@jchave7 Thanks a lot!
