My landlord provided one of these in my apartment when I moved in and wouldn't let me put my own in. It wouldn't have been my first choice to put it nicely. It worked for about two years and then just started tripping the RCD every time it tried turning the motor. I opened up the motor and cleaned up all the carbon but it still wasn't happy. Eventually what I found was it was fine at the start of the program but if there was ever a power cut it would never resume and just keep tripping off again. The landlord said he was going to remove white goods from the service charge, refused to replace it, and also refused to take it away. So, I got it in writing that the machine was mine to do as I pleased with, kept the motor and belt before taking the rest of it to the tip.
These machines we're so hard wearing. Friends mother had one for 10 years. Slight bit of rust under the door and under the powder drawer. But worked great. The brushes do make a lot of noise. It really wasn't a quiet machine. The machine did spit out the bits too, and it was the spider crumbling slowly. The slow turns isn't normal really and the sound of that motor isn't great. Could be they upgraded it to a new one because of a kitchen upgrade.
@@bootsowen I was always amazed at these. I definitely think they made them too well and have since made the next gen a lot less durable. My ex's father bought another beko after this one and with the first wash the drum warped and started smoking. 🙄 it was delivered 2 hours previously. It's a shame.
@@bootsowen the Beko WM5100W was one of the cheapest machine when it was sold around 13 years but still solid machines that forever they were only cheap because they are basic with only 5kg load capacity and 1000rpm spin speed but still great machines

@@bootsowen older bekos spin clockwise and the brushes on that motor have been replaced by a technician that might have thought it spins anticlockwise like the rest of the washers, try swapping them around or they have been taken off earlier and placed back incorrectly

I reckon if one of these cheaper machines last 10 years you are doing well.

I would try and swap the brushes as they seemed worn the wrong way(might be the cause why is so noisy)
I have a go at refurbishing the motor in my next video, I didn't end up swapping the brushes
