Galnet News Digest, I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I want to give a big thank you to every last person involved in this channel. No this isn’t the end of the narrative, just this Titan chapter. Cheers Galnet you too are firmly part of the lore..which is awesome.
I started playing Elite only a few months before the war started. So most of my time in the game was centered around fighting the Goids and It was an honor to be a part of such a huge milestone in Elite.
so far this is the only mournful coverage of the victory I have found, and it reminds us of the horrors of war much more effectively than any upbeat song can make us think it was fun for everyone (but the song is still good)
Excellent video. I really appreciated the melancholic tone, it matched my own feelings I had when contemplating the remains of the Titan floating above our beautiful blue planet.
What a fantastic year for ED. It would be amazing if next year frontier were to build a new campaign where we finally find and eventually attack the thargoid home world(s). Landable ammonia words and on foot combat of actual living thargoids would be amazing.
I hope they keep the Sol system permanently unlocked. Humanity stood together to fight for their home system. Every human should have permanent access to the home world after this!
I managed to get 36 titan bio pods out while cocijo was in meltdown. Alas I'd have gotten more but a bunch were snatched by Thargoid probes that were way, way faster than my collector limpets. Not sure where they were taking them because it certainly wasn't back to the titan.
I do hope FDEV add a nav beacon or something similar as a memorial to those who fought and died and to the innocent bystanders killed in the Thargoid War (maybe in orbit around Earth where the Titan was)

Saw it in VR too. It was really cool looking around and watching commanders quietly joining the asteroid fields, ships unmoving around you. But the explosion itself was rather underwhelming honestly. I highly recommend you do the tutorials under the tutorial section (it may be called training?). Not just the starter odyssey / horizons ones the game starts with. They go a really long way to teach the ship mechanics and get you more comfortable with the game. From there, if you started with odyssey (which I’d recommend as it’s cheaper to buy ED+Odyssey at once than it is to get ED and then Odyssey later) my biggest advice is: ignore odyssey missions for now. Odyssey is honestly more balanced as “mid to end game” content for people who played with the spaceships to stretch their legs a bit, not really for new players. Only exception being exobiology due to its relative ease of access and low risk. Do some courier missions with your sidewinder, and try not to rush / follow too many “speedrun to making billions!!” Guides at first, take some time to actually get used to the mechanics. Otherwise, players tend to get burn out very often doing the speedrun strats, or don’t really learn the mechanics too well before trying to immediately jump to high end content that punishes lack of familiarity more severely.
@guhak mainly its the figuring out of where things are for missions. Right now I'm just running things to places but just data. I can't seem to find things for specific missions at all .. I'll just go back to wow lol
@@sonikboom007 not entirely sure what you mean by specific missions, cargo missions? And right now you’re doing data courier missions? Not sure if you’re doing on-foot (Odyssey) or ship based content. Still recommend trying the training tutorials out first to get a feel for the menus and mechanics. But, it’s definitely a very different game from WoW haha. So if it ends up being that the space genre in general isn’t as appealing as you thought or what not very understandable.

This whole event makes me think, the previous story about the secret weapon used against the Targoids in the past, a micoid plague or something like that, became justified with this recent events. Since they fought back and pulled this titan invasion they are no longer victims, so although I'm not playing the game since a long time I hope in the future, maybe with another DLC humanity will actively start an invasion against the targoids.
