Such a great run, Hickman has so much fun and you can feel it. Definitely agree with you that he’s got some Hickmanisms that show up in all his writing, haha.
Haha right?! Yeah, this was suchhhh a strong run. I’m currently working my way through his X-men stuff. On hellfire gala right now then going to check out inferno. Thanks for stopping by!
@@TheComicBookReport awesome x-content ahead for you then! Inferno is fun but all the new titles coming out right now are really really solid and exciting (especially X-Men Red and Immortal X-Men)!
Glad to see you back. Very good review. You are right about the story reaching its peak halfway through volume 2. I don't own these but my library had all the trade paperbacks. Johnny Storm's death was well handled and carried a lot of emotional weight {even though we knew he would come back}.
Hey thank you for stopping by! :) Absolutely agreed! Even knowing he’d be back imminently it was still very affecting 💪👏 Very impressed by this run such a joy to read
If you enjoyed this you really should find his avengers / new avengers / secret wars run which is fantastic, and builds on 'some' of ihe ideas here. The only thing holding it back is figuring out the ideal reading order which is incredibly complex across multiple volumes.
@@TheComicBookReport Thats excellent news, thanks for sharing - I was buying them digitally on release - have got about half of them as collections but is really difficult to get the whole set! This may make it easier to start again
@@TheComicBookReport more of modern stuff. I'll only get classic if it's highly rated. For example, just got death and return of superman. I keep hearing it's really good
@@MandoAllDay totally understandable! Sometimes I do love the classics but at times it can be a slog depending on the titles.. ha Lately I’ve been reading a lot of 80s and early 90s stuff and have really loved that. Anyway just curious! Cheers 🎉
Hey thanks for stopping by! :) Honestly I highly recommend. I like the fantastic four and Hickman but this run is like pinnacle for both for me. Such a great read and so happy we got the reprints 💪👏
@@TheComicBookReport I missed out on these I got on board with Hickman with his Secret Warriors run and Avengers runs, and I loved how he revived the X-Men side of the marvel universe.
@@cavotiscomics3423 oh absolutely! I missed out on these at first as well but always heard great things. I’m just finishing up his new X-men stuff-got inferno coming later today. I’m hoping to get his avengers omnibus reprint that comes out end of year/early next year but we’ll see 🤷🏻♂️

Nice to see/hear ya again! I missed this channel.
Thank you so much!
Appreciate you stopping by 😁👍👍

It’s good to see you back, sorry I’m a few weeks late. I don’t think I got any UA-cam notifications
Hey no problem! :)
Thanks for stopping by!
I think if you hit the bell icon it’ll notify you when I drop content?
Anyway thanks for stopping by 💪
@@TheComicBookReport ah, my notifications were off. I hope to be earlier next video!
@@MonsieurEldritch no worries :)

Welcome back The Comic Book Report!! 😁
Thank you so much :)
🥳🤙
@@shereegroves9545 thought I’d kickoff with a fantastic four 😁💪
Does this FF run conclude well or does the reader need to read the hickman avengers run to get closure?
It concludes very well and is fairly self-contained 👍 do not need to read avengers if you don’t want to
If you enjoyed this you really should find his avengers / new avengers / secret wars run which is fantastic, and builds on 'some' of ihe ideas here. The only thing holding it back is figuring out the ideal reading order which is incredibly complex across multiple volumes.
They’re reprinting them in omnibus format end of year/new year really
Thinking of picking them up because it looks like an amazing run

@@AFriendRemembers yeah I think the first omnibus comes out in December and the other in February assuming nothing is delayed.
the art looks good. I mainly have DC omnibuses. I have a handful of Marvel. I need to up my marvel omni's haha
I’m the opposite 😂👏
But yeah, there’s some great marvel Omnis out there. Do you read a lot of classic omnibuses or more modern runs? :)
@@TheComicBookReport more of modern stuff. I'll only get classic if it's highly rated. For example, just got death and return of superman. I keep hearing it's really good
@@MandoAllDay oh it’s fantastic great great pickups!
I’m finding more and more people who prefer modern. I love a little bit of both
@@TheComicBookReport well, modern, to me, is better due to pacing. I noticed older comics, pacing at times can be unnecessary slower.
