@random yt gamer in pavlov yes they have different recoil patterns for the different guns to keep the game balanced admittedly its a bit exaggerated for gameplay reasons

I prefer the feeling of Pavlov’s AK. All the ones in Pavlov feel more natural where my hands should be placed when aiming down sights and when I switch to other games like Breachers or Bonelabs they all share a more similar offset to Pavlov which makes them easy to switch between playing as opposed to contractors where I feel I’m extending my arm gripping the handle near the barrel more to the right and feels off for me. pavlov is meant to be more like csgo, where you’re rewarded for precision single fire shots. there are other guns like the p90 where recoil is the easiest thing to manage, and still do tons of damage if you’re aiming for vitals. you can basically oneshot anyone without a helmet with the ak, and that’s half the fun and makes it more rewarding.
You know what's sad in contractors, they completely got the magazine ammo count for both their bolt action rifles and m1 garand wrong, the m1 only has 7 rounds in the enbloc clip when there are 8 clearly visible, their ww2 bolt actions save for the lee-enfield is wrong in internal magazine capacity, they are 10, when they should be 5 mostly
Pavlov is 🔛🔝 If the recoil is "all over the place" then control it, have bad aim? Get good. Doesnt matter if the mechanics feel better when pavlov's perspective if driven to being a skill based shooter
I think Pavlov’s guns LOOK a lot better and have more detail. Like with handguns in Pavlov with visible hammers like the 1911 or desert eagle, the hammer is actually Back and is de-cocked when there’s no mag in the Gun. However, Contractors’ guns FEEL a lot better and are a lot more fun to shoot and interact with. When reloading guns in Pavlov, it just feels so weightless to reload the guns. And reloading the guns in Pavlov just feels weird. Especially when pushing the slide release on pistols. It looks visibly slow compared to how a slide release functions compared to contractors or even real firearms.
You sound exactly like one of those guys who tries to mansplain Rick and Morty to people and explain why it's "Too sophisticated for the average person."
What i love about contractors is that you only let go of the mag when you decide to, in pavlov you automatically lets go of the mag once you insert it into the gun
I mean the thing about Pavlov’s recoil is that it ISNT all over the place. Every gun has exactly the same recoil pattern, just scaled up or down, so a longtime player can perfectly counteract a gun’s recoil and be accurate with it. Pavlov is a game that is all about long term, experiential skill. Contractors is more about game sense and soft shooter skills in general. In this way, they really are the CS:GO and CoD of VR respectively
I have both. Been playing Contractors since 2021. Contractors gameplay is smoother, graphics are better, and weapon handling is flawless. It’s a fast pace shooter tho. A lot of run and gunning on smaller maps. The mod community is gigantic. Star Wars: Battlefront mods, Halo mods, Titanfall mods and so much more. You have a physical gunstock calibration option AND you can choose to play sitting down if you wish. I recently bought Pavlov Shack and have been playing it for a few weeks. The gunfights are more intense and very fun and at times seems like a scene from a movie. However this means it takes more bullets to put your enemy down. I dislike when I shoot an enemy in the head and only their helmet flies off while they are still alive. Weapon switching is a pain also as I constantly have to holster my weapon on my back if I want to throw a grenade or switch to pistol. In Contractors when you let go of your weapon it automatically goes back to the FRONT of your body, which is much easier to grasp. the holster mechanic in Pavlov is flawed. There have been countless times where i go to holster my weapon on my back and it ends up on the ground behind me. When I go to reach for it, it’s not there and then I have to turn around and look on the ground for it while multiple enemies are shooting at me. And if you don’t grab your weapon off the ground within 5 seconds IT DISAPPEARS! Another big issue I am having with Pavlov is invisible walls. So many times I go to shoot from behind cover and there are bullet holes just floating in the air inches above from wherever I am taking cover. In order to solve this I have to raise my head higher thus exposing myself to be killed easily. Also there is no physical gunstock calibration option and no sitting to play option in Pavlov. And a another frustrating thing is the sprint mechanic. Sometimes sprint doesn’t even register w the auto sprint option. So many times I am being shot at and go to run away, but instead I slowly walk away if my head is slightly down. Better off just pushing sprint button instead of auto sprint. Pavlov is a lot of fun, but it still needs much improvement. I figured the developers would have fixed all these issues BEFORE charging full price. Pavlov is great, but Contractors is further ahead

The most realistic thing about pavlov is the reloading, and 99 percent of the time real people (not AI) can't even take out the mag with another one in their hand.
As the owner of an AK and having played both these games i can say pavlov does a better job at showing the actual mechanics of the gun including the rocking motion required when inserting the magazine. It’s just more realistic.
I still don't like the counter strike recoil in pavlov. Especially with the ak. As someone who's been fortunate enough to mag dump one before I have to say the climb on the gun after 6 shots is not going to take it from mid torso to head.
If contractors had a TTT gamemode there would be no need for pavlov. It’s one of if not the most popular game mode in pavlov and in contractors it would be extremely popular.
Also btw it’s all about that Pavlov shack is free and onward and contractors and all those cost money so you gotta think too their not gonna spend like 50k dollars just to make reloading nicer
Pavlov’s sound effects are better imo. Plus, i always hate when guns feel like lasers. The recoil honestly adds to my experience because it takes more skill to hit the target consistently.
This is a lot like a CSGO battlefield comparison. CSGO has heavy, scripted recoild, contractors has lighter recoil with a little randomization. Contractors looks more realistic and the guns interact with objects. One game is more consistent, leading to better competitive play, and the other looks better and is more realistic, making it more fun for casual players.
Pavlov is made to be as realistic as possible. I don’t know if you’ve ever shot an AK-47 but the recoil is kind of crazy. Therefore Pavlov is more realistic.
I love how people complain about recoil, you do understand that NO one in real life use full auto for that specific reason right, go semi auto with the AK , and you won’t miss you shots, just make them count.
As a gun nut it made me cringe to see that contractors ak mag had no little lock thing where you gotta like rotate it in. And Pavlov is an awesome game it doesn’t really matter about reloads. And Pavlov makes it so you TAP FIRE AND PACE YOUR SHOTS!
It all comes down to personal preference. Pavlov's gunplay is more suited for Pavlov's gameplay. Like onward gunplay to gameplay.

Better than what the hell going on in onward (quest 2, but it can look weird on pcvr)
That magazine slap sure was something 🦊
Pavlov just feels better and more free when it comes to handling a gun
Pavlov recoil is such an immersion breaker. The guns feel way too floaty. Recoil in Contractors feels both believable and weighty
If contractors had a TTT gamemode there would be no need for pavlov. It’s one of if not the most popular game mode in pavlov and in contractors it would be extremely popular.
Controlling the recoil is as simple as moving your hand down with the gun going up. If you can master that it’s easy
this guy has NEVER heard of the original pavlov (hes playing pavlov shack)
Also btw it’s all about that Pavlov shack is free and onward and contractors and all those cost money so you gotta think too their not gonna spend like 50k dollars just to make reloading nicer
Bro jizzed when he reloaded
Pavlov’s sound effects are better imo. Plus, i always hate when guns feel like lasers. The recoil honestly adds to my experience because it takes more skill to hit the target consistently.
This is a lot like a CSGO battlefield comparison. CSGO has heavy, scripted recoild, contractors has lighter recoil with a little randomization. Contractors looks more realistic and the guns interact with objects. One game is more consistent, leading to better competitive play, and the other looks better and is more realistic, making it more fun for casual players.
You can’t really tell but once you try both you can feel and see that contractors is way better than Pavlov’s reloading
Pavlov AK reload is more realistic when reloading normally but contractors just goes straight in
I agree, the mag smack is horrible in pavlov 😔
Pavlov is an arcade shooter. Contractors is a tactical shooter.
I’m getting a new controller for my vr after a long time of trying to fix it, can’t wait to hop back on this game!
Pavlov is more arcade than realism while contractors is realism with some community arcade added
Pull down on the front of the gun for recoil, like cs
Pavlov is made to be as realistic as possible. I don’t know if you’ve ever shot an AK-47 but the recoil is kind of crazy. Therefore Pavlov is more realistic.
Pavlov is a CS clone so the recoil is supposed to be the ak spray pattern or something similarly severe so as to discourage spraying
I love how people complain about recoil, you do understand that NO one in real life use full auto for that specific reason right, go semi auto with the AK , and you won’t miss you shots, just make them count.
Fr long range I just switch to semi auto seems like a skill issue
As a gun nut it made me cringe to see that contractors ak mag had no little lock thing where you gotta like rotate it in. And Pavlov is an awesome game it doesn’t really matter about reloads. And Pavlov makes it so you TAP FIRE AND PACE YOUR SHOTS!
the straight mag reload:
From my current experience, "Into the radius" has better gun play and weapon feel than Pavlov and Ghost of Tabor.
