Colombo Dhamma Friends, also known as the English Dhamma Center, is a community that acts for the welfare of many beings while sharing the Buddha's Teachings. We are situated in Pitakotte, and with the blessing of our Founder of Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monasteries, Ven. Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thero, our main focus is to spread the Buddha's Teachings to the English-speaking community and worldwide. We do many meritorious activities, such as;

This wonderful monastery is a great place for new comers to the Path of Dhamma to develop their practice and meet like-minded noble friends.
After joining this monastery, I have gotten the chance to associate kind monks who compassionately guides us towards the Path to Nibbana.
At this monastery, there are opportunities for us to offer Dana to the Maha Sangha on a monthly basis or even 7 days in a row! Not only that, we also get to practice giving through many other charitable programs such as the weekly Dansala at the Maharagama cancer hospital.
Through this monastery, we have also gotten the chance to go and venerate many sacred sites in Sri Lanka including Ruwanwelimaha Seya, Sri Pada, Mihintale, Seruwila & Rajagala and also be a part of building stupas with our own hands such as the Sri Ananda Maha Seya and the Mihindu Maha Seya!
It is truly an extraordinary place and I hope many more people will visit this great monastery and experience the blissful association of Noble Friends and developing in the path of Dhamma.
