Its a spoken poetry actually They put it for most emotional songs
Ryssi had to sing it in that arrangement to fit the genre in that round, basically make it a highly emotional song. And she did a great job!
Oks Lang Ako means "I'm Okay" even when i am hurting. The song is about his partner falling out of love towards him and then everything starts to change or fall apart.
And he is requesting for last hug to say goodbye even if she doesn't love him and say im okay you can go. Something like that

In that particular round, they are asked to sing a "HUGOT SONG"/ emotional romantic songs. So i think ryssi did a good job in that roumd.
They were asked to sing a "Hugot (Emotional) Song" that week so they made the arrangement more theme like so they added more instruments to the arrangement, i would say Ryssi did a great job on her renditio of the song esp the song is about being okay letting go of your beloved one coz he/she isnt happy anymore and you only care for his/her happiness even if its hurting you letting go and moving on but hoping as the saying goes "If you love someone, let him/her free, if he/she comes back, she/he's yours forever"
Ryssi's rendition seems like a never heard before song. It felt so raw that I even searched on youtube to compare it with the original version by JRoa.

Its about two people in love and somewhere along the way things changed. Everything spirals out of control and before he knew it , he dont know how he got from here to there. The only conclusion is to accept the inevitability of the situation and ultimately accept that its "OKAY" with everything, thus OKAY LANG in short OK LANG or in the ph sometimes we say it OKS lang 😅

In that round the theme of songs that they will perform was all "Hugot" songs or heatbreak songs. "Oks Lang" is a heartbreak song. It means "I'm okay".

Btw I am rooting for Ryssi. Yes over Nesha, or whatever her name is and I think she’s very good as well however I agree with your assessment here. I felt the same way when I first heard this episode 2 days ago. I hope she only gets better, I still think she can win this all the way. Everyone knows her sad story and I feel bad. Oks lang ako as in Okay lang ako or Im fine. Song about letting go and moving on while still in love and reassuring the partner that he/she will be fine after the break-up. It's like saying I still love you but if thats goin to make you happy, don't worry about me. Ill be fine. 💔

JRoa’s version was much better imho. Ryssi was all over the place in terms of vocal placement. At least that’s how i felt.
Clearly, you didn't understand the words & its lyrics and why there some word stress, tiredness and some squeaks needed to be there. Let us not forget that she was also coached by Nina and that the judges were THE ASIA'S SONG BIRD Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who's married to the President of OPM, MR. PURE ENERGY Gary Valenciano & Mr. Chito Miranda of Parokya Ni Edgar, the fact that they all loved it means that Ryssi has professionally gave justice to the song! Next time, you can do a deeper research first and compare two genres alike side by side since John Roa's mellow and the original genre's actually available.
