Thank you to all commenters and supporters for your interest and encouragement, and my good wishes for 2024. Tank build session two will be published early in the new year. Between us we will get this Panther Grand Sports on its wheels again.
Terrifically skilled and seemingly intuitive mastery of the art/science. I continue to struggle with the vanishing act of the excess material when pinching, the process being done on cold sheet. How satisfying to see the English Wheel bringing out the aesthetic finish. 👍👏👌
Picasso and Rembrandt are regarded as great artists but they could not possibly create such works of art as you have shown in your videos. A true artist and craftsman.
Hollywood has Spielberg, Panther owners Club has JJ......bet Spielberg couldn't make a tank from scratch. Brilliant as usual, best thing on a small screen this Christmas
When you look at the beginning and see just dents from the hammer blows and it seems impossible to get it to a smooth surface. Well done, long live Panthers. The homemade wheel looks very effective.
Hello Jonathan, it’s refreshing to see such a tricky job tackled so well, if I may say so, in a rudimentary workshop and likely reminiscent of the manner in which the original motorcycles were formerly constructed. Well done that man! I look forward with anticipation, to the next instalment. Regards Kevin. HNY.
I always find your video's extremely interesting and informative As an engineer and motorcycle tinkerer of some 50 years there is always something new to learn. If I remember correctly from college days in the late 60's, wire becomes bar at one inch diameter.
Really good work, very impressive metal forming skills, such that you are making it look easy, when infact it takes considerable practice and skills, good video and humour 👍
Watching you do this work on your petrol tank reminds me of watching Michael Waller on his UA-cam channel,a lot of skill and knowledge and more patience than i thought possible 😂. Great work and good explanation of the process your doing 👍👍.merry Christmas and a happy new year. Looking forward to your updates on the build.
Very impressive! Personally I would never attempt such a project as I don't possess the tenacity to see it through. Virtually anything mechanical yes but metal forming is artisan. On the subject of wire transition, when does rod become bar?
Fantastic stuff, great to watch but sadly far beyond my skill set (and patience !..) - In my estimation proficiency at this level of sheet metal working comes somewhere between the dark art of ancient Celtic witchcraft and Norse legend !..

Wonderful work ! are you by any chance, a coppersmith ?

I find your videos are always thoroughly enjoyable, this one being no exception!
Nice craftmanship on display, Jonathon. "Tanks" a lot.
What a way to finish out 2023. You're doing an amazing job. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
Your channel is a gem, and your fabricating skills are amazing. Thank you for taking to time to create your informative and inspiring videos.
Fantastic, thank you for sharing, always look forward to your videos, best Christmas present I’ve had this year, can’t wait for the continuation.
Great video content and the narration is top notch. Thank you for posting
Video was kind of therapeutic, I don't know why. Perhaps its seeing a craftsman at work, it was just absorbing and compelling. Thank you so much.

A joy to watch. Metalworking at it’s finest. Thank you for posting JJ and a Happy New Year! 👍🏻
Very interesting. I admire your application and skill. Well done. Thanks for posting!
Nice work. Wish I could do that. Done a few fibreglass tanks but would love to do my own alloy tank. Thanks for sharing your work
Excellent techniques, I enjoyed watching.

Totally mesmerising!

I would submit for ridicule that wire becomes rod when it can transmit a mechanical compressive load.
