In the comics this fight happens AFTER the father son fight.
In the comics at least, its stated that Omni-Man did actually change during his time on Earth. He thought he was putting up an act, but after that fight with Mark, he came to realize he truly did change. He was in denial that he actually cared and fooled himself into thinking he was lying to everyone else when he was really lying to himself.
Ngl I don't think someone who cares, no matter how hidden, would do what he did imo but hey. Viltrumites, I guess.
Within the context of the episode, I believe Nolan thought he was teaching his son a lesson about being too trusting, and trying to help those who are "beneath" him.

Battle beast was looking for a worthy opponent and had hoped to meet Omni man by working with Machine head. That’s the only reason he wanted to work for him

No one has noticed this detail. Battle beast is as powerful as the boss of all the viltrumites. It seems somewhat exaggerated to me that an always human could contact that beast so easily. it's like the joker hired general zod with a phone.
There has to be more to it than that. BB said he was told he'd find challenging opponents on Earth. I have to think someone must have steered him there, and Machine Head heard of him and offered him the chance to fight those foes.

When Mark let loose and grabbed the tongue guy, it would’ve been amazing to see him actually accidentally kill a henchmen in anger just to give him a peak at his actual strength that will come hopefully in the show. He’s so crazy in the comic.

I am reading the comics atm, in the earlier issues, my biggest problem is that all the battles that are legendary in the show are WAAAY too quick. in the comics this fight scene was like 3 or 4 pages. the show is my favourite animated superhero content.
Yeah and Mark got away relatively unscathed, too, iirc. His BRUTAL treatment in this fight was one of the emotional peaks of this season for me.

I think that battle beast the character is the inspiration from the toys(action figures) battle beasts.
I genuinely don’t think Omniman was afraid of battle beast. He didn’t know who or what he was.
He was mad that mark defied him by helping those who aren’t in the big picture. By having mark learn a painful lesson Omniman hoped that this would steer mark towards seeing that his dad is “right” about things and how they should operate.
Like hindsight WE KNOW who battle beast is and what he is about. But at this current moment in time there’s no reason to believe Omniman would know him.

realized something while watching the show again, Machine head said he had a new chip in his head that predicted quantum probabilities, he may have thought that invincible was Omnimans son and so he hired battle beast specifically for Omniman which is why Battle beast left and said he was promised better opponents.

Crazy to think that Thragg and BattleBeast fought for a few days. Before Thragg won. Battle beast is a chad.

I JUST REALIZED The anonymous call was from Omni man so he could have them try to weaken battle beast, because he didn’t want to fight him knowing he would have been wrecked

While I do believe that battle beast is OP asf, I never really believe he was AS strong as Thragg. Mostly because during there first encounter, Thragg knocked him aside and out pretty easily. And battle beast was fully aware of who Thragg was and how powerful he was. During there final battle though, Thragg had parts of his guts ripped out, and BB damaged himself to have a fair fight. They fought for days before Thragg finally won, then he passed out.
Personally while Thragg has been bred for war and in all manners of combat, I think he wasn’t nearly as skilled or as experienced as BB. BB lived for battle and constantly seeked it out. Thragg only ever really got involved when he had to. I think he reason that the fight lasted so long was that he underestimated BB for a good while. Thragg called him insane, I don’t think he expected the fight to last as long as it did, but by the time he got serious, he had already taken a good amount of damage, and BB was bloodlusted and having the time of his life.
Personally I think Thragg would’ve and could’ve beaten him fairly easier if the Thracian’s hadn’t shown up, and if he had taken BB serious from the very start.
I mean they are both very strong and its a hard debate but ig you got a point

I watched the show before I knew about Battle Beast. I'd already watched someone do a timeline of the Invincible comics, but that was years ago. Watching this now, after having relearned who Battle Beast is, props to Mark for even surviving.

Notice that exactly Battle Beast puts every hero down, Also, he treated Rex and Ray so gently! Just slapped Rex and just stood his hand for Ray so she hit it like a wall. Otherwise they wouldn't be dead.

After finishing all of Invincible, I kinda wish that they chose someone like the og or even the newer Kratos VA for Battle Beast but I don't know his range so hopefully the show VA can do his crazy moments some justice.
