"I have this pan which is a little bit ruined which I tend to use for these chapatis" "It got ruined because..... I started making chapatis in it" That gave me a good chuckle!
Like to repeat my compliment on the quality of your cabinetmaking. You work with an incredible accuracy irrespective of your tool availability, which makes everything take much longer and be harder than it might have otherwise..well done
I’ve found that in doing projects, sometimes the gods smile on you. Sometimes they just have a bloomin’ good laugh at your expense. Your channel is very calming, even when you show moments of fluster or frustration. Thank you.
With each episode, I watch the first viewing intently. Then for the days to come , I have it on and listen while knitting. Your innovative approach has given me the incentive to reevaluating the things I can handle and at age 80+ it has established a new “lifeline” (a term used in knitting for establishing a safe place to return to and start from again). Thank you
Your happy!……you should be going out through the door and running, shouting I have put down a beautiful floor in my living room ,with your hands in the air. Hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray! I am so pleased for you.I can’t just see you relaxing by that cosy fire reading a book. Well done you.👏👏👏👏🥰
I like the sunday morning release schedule. A quiet relaxing video with a hot cup of tea before the inevitable list of chores has to be tackled. That room looks so much different now it's empty and has its proper floor. I would move that white chair in front of the fire place, put a giant stack of books next to it and not leave it ever again.
Perfect timing to pass some of another impossibly rainy day down here in the Portuguese mountains. I’m also renovating my house and am only 15 years into it now 😂. I long ago realised that taking my time and doing things my own way was the way to go, but this winter has been hard as I’ve literally not been able to do anything for the weather and lack of enough power to run power tools (am completely off grid), so watching UA-cam videos of other people making quiet progress has been one way to stay sane. Still I wouldn’t swap this life for anything. You go girl!! If you ever fancy a hiking holiday down here we have some good mountain trails. And you’d be very welcome to stop by and chat DIY skills!
Restoration and running 😊❤ Rosie, you lead...others will follow. As a disabled 65yr, old ebike rider doing 200 km per week, it's quite a workout, pedal assist is no free ride.😊
Love your tenacity, Rosie! I am always fascinated with your building. And remember, there are no rules. Your life in the forest is yours completely. You set the pace, the path. That's the sheer beauty of it and one we all envy. And I totally agree. It's the simple things that bring true joy...even a drawer.😊
Your new drawer is cute, and I love how the cutlery divider ended up fitting perfectly. What you said about drawers is so true. They ARE amazing things. We take them for granted, and even as we're opening and closing them, it's pretty much an unconscious thing. Thank you for helping me see and appreciate the many drawers in my life. 😊

How satisfying completing the floor and drawer! ❤ I have been wondering whether the tongue and groove on the floors and walls makes a difference to the internal temperature of the cottage?
@@rachelwatson1188 Google supplied me with an AI answer to your question: "Yes, tongue and groove flooring can help insulate. The tight fit of tongue and groove flooring can help reduce gaps for drafts and dirt, which can lead to warmer and cleaner living spaces. Tongue and groove flooring is more insulating than square edge hardwood floors."
Rosie, you are showing us time and time again your skills, your patience, your learning curve and your sense of beauty. You inspired me (I am a complete handycraft idiot), to stabilize a shelf unit on my balcony. I bought a bit of wood and now its sturdier than before and will not fall apart. It's far from perfect and probably even laughable, but I did it myself and I am proud of it! 😊
The drawer is great…cabinetry is not for sissies, that is for sure. There is such a sense of accomplishment building or doing things yourself. My husband and I have been renovating our cottage for 10 years and he laid wood floors in the entire house, and I sanded and finished them. Every time we see them, we feel good that we did them. Next week is the last thing to do…renovating the bathrooms, but this time, we’ll let someone else do that as we are no plumbers and also just getting older. Good luck on the rest of your house renovation; it is looking great and is a unique and beautiful reflection of you.
Good luck with your bathrooms. I hope that they turn out they way you want them too. I hope that you can rest & enjoy what you’ve accomplished with your house👍🏻🥳🇨🇦
Rosie, your profession is something other than cabinet maker. Give yourself grace! Your home is lovely, you did it yourself on a dime without help. ITS FANTASTIC
It was woman's day this week and if anyone represents that it's you. You are a free woman and an inspiring role model. Your videos are such a joy to watch and see the progress in all your growing skills. I bought an air fryer this winter and I absolutely love it! Game changer!
We use the ash from the wood stove, a little on a damp paper towel, to clean the window of the wood stove. It works amazingly and is so quick to do. Love your videos, you are so inspiring!

Greetings from Seattle! I found your vlog a few months ago while randomly scrolling. I'll admit the first time I opened your vlog was because the expression on your face showing on the title page seemed to be daring me to continue scrolling by. And now I'm watching each of your chapters with admiration and great enjoyment. Wow. Planet Earth desperately needs more thoughtful and capable (and wry) people like you, but I find myself thinking that if and when human beings are launched into space to colonize Mars that you and others of your ability should be on board. Meanwhile, I hope you continue sharing your approach to living life through your vlog. Thank you! Kind Regards.
You’re now the drawer expert! Better than I could make! And that drawer looks amazing! Great wood working skills, and finished so nicely! Nobody would ever know the problems you had installing it!
Had a good laugh when you said you feel like making drawers for the rest of your life! Isn't it satisfying when you've conquered something new & difficult! You do things I would never dream of doing, though when I was young I did wish my father were a handy man who could have taught me such things. Now I'm satisfied if I can manage to find a person to hire to do carpentry for me! I do get vicarious satisfaction watching you though, I must say!

Rosie, there is so much I admire about you: your formidable skills, your creative vision, your joie de vivre, the way you order your days, the way you prepare mindful meals, and how you take care of body and soul. But especially your ability to be content with yourself, something that escapes me.
I love every episode. I especially love how you just cope and rework things when things don't work out as planned. The best life is when we realize we can create options, rather than only wishing that everything will always be perfect. Thanks for sharing the Swedish Forest with us.
The floor and drawer turned out beautifully! 🎉 I LOVED how you traced, shaped, and trimmed the flooring pieces around the door frame! It was so satisfying to watch it snap into place perfectly! 💫

You certainly r an inspiration to me & I adore your willingness to work hard , be consistent & budget to achieve your dreams / goals. Wishing u the very best as your journey continues!. 😊🎉❤
I love your weekly blogs. I've watched all of them. They cheer up my Sundays. I'm 70 & wish I could do what you have done. Thank you for sharing your life.
I make chapattis every day, but don’t bake them in butter. I have a flat undeep iron pan of de Buyer and this works great. I use lukewarm water and some salt. To warm water makes chewing gum:) Some people mix in some oil through the flower. I use a pannenkoeken mes to press down the chapatti. When you turn it before it’s brown you get the puffed ones. Enjoy your lunch !
I was thinking as you sat on the floor admiring it, I thought this was about the time Rosie would say CUTE, then it popped on the screen...you didn't disappoint girl...I love that you change it all up, avoiding the drudgery of it all...the cutlery drawer, what an awesome addition and will be well served, I bet you smile every time you open it...I have nearly made it to 75 and smile at all of my accomplishments I have managed on my path, alone...now totally painting my house with a brush, I feel so satisfied when my daughter tells me I'm crazy...is it me or my color scheme of Mexican brilliance, Terra Cota, mustard, aqua and cobalt blue...but it's beautiful and this crazy ol' gal can't stop smiling...do what YOU want to do, it's the best...I think I'll plant some flowers now...!
I laid my dream wood floor myself; I so relate to sitting on a newly laid section with a nice drink, taking a break and enjoying how it looks! 🥰 I was so proud of myself at the end of it all, and I still look around thinking how much I love my floor. Edit: You have the same jigsaw I do! Mine couldnt handle the super dense flooring, but I bet it cuts through those pine planks very nicely!
You do whatever you want it is your project, your home and you have your own free will and life and no one to tell you what to do - the joy of being single and free and all your choices will be your own and you will soar with that freedom.
Rosie…..so after following your home makeover, I actually made a step up deck to cover some old rotten bricks and cement that I could not get up, in my back yard. It’s a really simple 4 ft by 3 ft rectangle . I used some left over 2x8 wood from my privacy fence for the bottom. Then I bought 8 ft decking boards and cut them in half for the top. Used the left over wood screws and then stained them with stain my dad gave me. I loved it so much that I made a second one I have potted plants sitting on top of them. I think I will sit on one of them and try to meditate!
Hello Rosi. I love to relax when I see you struggel and love your way to get it all. Its now a must for me to tell you some things to make it easyer for you. First: Look up for other sanding plates. I notice you use only the yellow one. Is it only one sice? You should use one big sending First and ending with a minimal one. In Germany we have big different of these, that makes the work effizient and fast. Look up. If im wrong. Sorry. It look like one and the same. Maybe look some German Woodwork Videos. It makes it faster an cleaner/smother for you. Second. First messure, then build ist free (outside) together and fix it in, If you are ready. You make much trouble about fixing it in place. You dont need to. Third: Go and have a look to someone to fix the trees nearliy your cabin. Some of the trees can be dangerous for you, and maybe they could be firewood for you. You need to call a visitor with experience to be safe in the stormy Season. Sorry for my terrible english I hope you understand that I want to tell you. Love to watch your way. Best wishes from Germany.

I wish you a wonderful day, I am sending you a lot of life harmony.🍀🍀🍀
So I just watched your new video and normally I try to leave something humorous or silly. But today I just wanted to let you know that your house is looking absolutely spectacular. I don't normally leave compliments because I don't want to sound like everyone else or make it sound like I'm just trying to tell you what you want to hear. And I know no one else is doing that. I just like to be unique. It's a Dave thing. So when I do hand out praise, I want you to know I mean it. I also like your train of thought on not being defined by fear or worries and will add to it by saying it's also important to not be defined by your past. I believe all emotions are natural and it's okay to feel them whether it's sadness, fear, or anger. It's not the emotion that defines you, but the actions that they bring forth that does. Your way of thinking is one of the reasons I started watching your videos in the first place. Just thought I would let you know that.
Yeah! Make drawers for all your bottom shelving to keep it from dust and easy access! I'v always been intimidated by making them. I might give it a go!
Beautiful job! Watching you reminds me of when I was younger and able to do more. I also installed several floors in my old house, replaced window panes, repaired drawers, and a bit of plumbing. Now, I rely on my son's, mostly because things feel so much more intimidating than they used to. Doing your own renovations is so rewarding and a huge confidence boost. Congratulations on a job well done. 🎉
Another choice for a quick meal is making Swedish Pancakes. Just milk, eggs, flour and a little salt and sugar. Eat with Lingonberries jam or Other jam. I also like whip cream for a festive meal.👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey Rosie Come to France and build me a cabin kitchen please!!! You can make drawers all summer 🎉 I really love the flooring layout it makes simple materials look very beautiful. ❤
I just love watching you work! It's amazing what a pro you've became, self-taught and creative. Your videos convey the message that everything is possible with patience, perseverance and will - I watch them when I'm down, to get motivated again. I just bought a house, it's mostly finished and not that remote, no comparison to your situation, but I'll be living alone in a tiny village with a dog and no car and a beautiful vast forest almost next to my house. Watching your honest videos kept me searching for this little dream house and not doubt myself when people were questioning my choices. A woman, living alone, with no car? Oh, but yes and yes a thousand times! All the best to you from sommerly Poland!
When you were making the cutlery drawer I was thinking, WOW, that’s an advanced project! When it went wrong I thought “There’s my girl!” I totally would have somehow measured wrong and scrapped the whole thing and CRIED, but YOU fixed it! 🎉😅👏🏼
Right now you are very busy building, but one time you finish your projects, you will have a lot of time to do all that other things you wish to do. Just enjoy one and every thing you are doing and sharing with us. We really thank you for all your time and effort, and all the beautiful attitude when you plan and construct that beautiful house little by little.
I so appreciate the integrity, the attention to detail in your projects. The floor looks great! Re: kitchen drawer - sometimes we just realise things "after the fact!" 🤷☺️☺️
OMG Rosie! The floor looks amazing! I love the layout! Your workmanship looks so professional and the new flooring truly uplifts that room. I dont comment often, but I watch each of your video's and they bring me so much joy! As for the 'chapati' that was more of a 'paratha'. Chapatis are rolled quite thinly and cooked on a pan on both sides and puff up into a ball shape. I'm Indian BTW:) Yes, to doing the 'fun thing...'!!
I was a bit worried for you seeing you glue the floorboards together, but then relived to see that you didn't in a later shot. Also I see you did leave a small gap around where the old skirting is, which is important. I hope the floor will have enough room to expand, shrink and move with the seasons so you don't run into trouble. You did a lovely job all over Rosie, and it's good to see you're progress! ❤
So far loving and binge watching your episodes, I hope one day you’ll take us outside and work on some exterior parts of the property. I think a clean roof and a fresh lick of paint will make the buildings stand out so beautifully!
When I watched your video today, at one point I just felt a strong sense of friendship. A few moments after you told us, you giving yourself more time. I felt that, I guess it is a good advice for me too, but in that moment I was just glad you were treating yourself with compassion! There is an old saying in germany: Gut Ding muss Weile haben. It just means good things take time. Enjoy it :)
Rosie I think you are absolutely AMAZING. All the things you have done by yourself in your cottage absolutely brilliant You take pride in all you do ,well done you xx❤
You are renovating a house all by yourself, and you have to walk or take the bike to go grocery shopping. Not to mention that you have to carry everything home! Compared to my own sedentary life, that's plenty of exercise! But the running seems like a beautiful habit. Wood chopping and axe throwing are two cheap alternatives. 😁
I love watching your videos. It’s even more entertaining watching the order you do tasks in, who cares how they get done, it’s YOUR home. 🏡 Thank you sharing.
You've remodeled your house using a jig saw and a drill. No one has the right to question how you do things or why. You go, girl.

Just recently I dismantled an old wooden structure in my yard. Thank you for showing me that so much more is possible than I ever thought.
That is amazing to hear and exactly why I make these videos! :)
Same here! I sometimes catch myself thinking “what would Rosie do?”
@@luemun Yes! I like that❣🇨🇦
@@luemun😅 ...smiling!
@@luemunWWRD 😊
You are not only building your home by renovating your house, Rosie, you are also building your personality. You are so much stronger, determined and sure of yourself nowadays, it is a constant transformation, a daily journey, bit by bit, little by little, but 3 years later the change shows and glows ! BRAVO 👏❤
Character! 💪
one smart and brave cookie😊
and now we know where QUEEN ELIZABETH 1st re incarnated??... just saying❤
OMG I just have to say thank you !!!! For a reason unknown to me yet... your comment about continuing to do things in the wrong order because it's more fun and your life... (37:29 +/- and then showing how you cut your sweet potato (opposite how someone once told me I HAD to cut my potatoes) You brought a huge smile to me and a sense of freedom and easy. Thank you so much❣ Isn't it just beautiful how we can influence each other lives in simplest of ways! Congratulations on your progress I am in awe of your hard work.
Well, the way you do things have worked well thus far - so why stop now. I say follow your instincts.
"I have this pan which is a little bit ruined which I tend to use for these chapatis"
"It got ruined because..... I started making chapatis in it"
That gave me a good chuckle!
I love her sense of humor!
Rosie never stop being a free woman 😂 keep being your wonderful authentic self.your home is really coming together ❤
Ariel Bissett mentioned your channel in her last episode just thought I’d mention it just in case you didn’t know 😊
I saw it!! :) I'm waiting for her to pick me up in her cute little Japanese truck lol
I'm addicted to you, can't stop watching.. South Wales,UK.❤
Back in the day I was a painter and decorator..love your work.❤
Like to repeat my compliment on the quality of your cabinetmaking.
Well done you.👏👏👏👏🥰
I bet she really did that, off camera when no one was watching....haha
I like the sunday morning release schedule. A quiet relaxing video with a hot cup of tea before the inevitable list of chores has to be tackled.
That room looks so much different now it's empty and has its proper floor. I would move that white chair in front of the fire place, put a giant stack of books next to it and not leave it ever again.
Loving the directional floor.❤
3 am and I am struggling to get any sleep. Nice to have a beautiful video to watch where I always learn something new I love your style and home it is stunning and you are an incredible young lady taking on an amazing task making your home!
Hopefully my floor laying will put you right back to sleep! ;)
I love to watch Rosie's videos at night when I can't sleep because they are so calming
How satisfying completing the floor and drawer! ❤ I have been wondering whether the tongue and groove on the floors and walls makes a difference to the internal temperature of the cottage?
@@rachelwatson1188 Google supplied me with an AI answer to your question:
"Yes, tongue and groove flooring can help insulate.
This is amazing!! I really really think you would love tiles behind the stove and I think it would look so cool!
We use the ash from the wood stove, a little on a damp paper towel, to clean the window of the wood stove. It works amazingly and is so quick to do. Love your videos, you are so inspiring!
I’m an 81 y/o widower and your videos make me smile. Wish I knew you. Keep it up❤
Every morning as soon as the sun starts to light up the sky (5:45am right now) I walk 5 miles a day up and around a steep hill. It has a huge positive impact on my mental health. ❤ Well done on your running.
Love this video. Every second Monday morning nothing gets done in our house until we have our Rosie fix. ❤ 🇦🇺
Bravo! The floor is fantastic! It adds such a great ambiance to the room. The room is beautiful! It's very exciting to follow along.
Sunday is my favorite day as Rosie has a new video and Martijn Doolaard, both relaxing videos, building, renovating but also very beautiful nature, thanks for this.
Rosie I have just finished number 76 after starting with 1 last week and you have another subscriber! I commented a few times before but have definitely decided I like your channel. You are an inspiration to women, I don't agree with everything you say but you are showing women a strong and dedicated woman. Thanks for sharing with us and looking forward to Sunday for the next video.
Brilliant storytelling and cinematography capturing a creative imagination.
Thank you.
JUST DRAWERS‼️
JUST DRAWERS‼️
I FEEL LIKE ALL I WANT TO MAKE IS DRAWERS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE‼️
I have just 1 built in drawer in my entire 1 bedroom apartment in the US🇺🇸; and it’s in my kitchen. But we can’t DIY and alter stuff like that. SO, I GET IT‼️ DRAWERS ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING‼️
p.s. So glad you’re expanding your designs as you accrue all the MANY SKILLS you now have!
Rosie, I just wanted to tell u what a beautiful, amazing independent woman u are, willing to learn & acheive perfection in the renovation of your Sweetish Cottage.
Crazy is the best way to be. You know I bet my mum would love your house and all those colours! :)
Runing is the perfekt start of the day, because then you know the day only can become better.
Happy womens day to a selfsufficient women 😊😊😊😊 love you channel so much! And celebrating your joy with you 🎉🎉🎉🎉
You do whatever you want it is your project, your home and you have your own free will and life and no one to tell you what to do - the joy of being single and free and all your choices will be your own and you will soar with that freedom.
The floor looks beautiful! The drawer turned out great!

I saw your first videos, I thought wow, what a big challenge you took, today I watched your video after a long time and your skill progress increased by level 1000 !!! you are very smart and I am a big fan of you, you also inspire me in my life story.
Couldn't agree more Dave!
Yeah! Make drawers for all your bottom shelving to keep it from dust and easy access! I'v always been intimidated by making them. I might give it a go!
Rosie, it looks beautiful. I so enjoy these visits with you. You are strong and brave and an amazingly creative designer. You are inspiring. ☺️🙏😉
"I am free woman." - I love it! 💕 Thank you Rosie for sharing your life with us.
Drawers are the best in the kitchen!!
When you were making the cutlery drawer I was thinking, WOW, that’s an advanced project!
When it went wrong I thought “There’s my girl!” I totally would have somehow measured wrong and scrapped the whole thing and CRIED, but YOU fixed it! 🎉😅👏🏼
Rosie, you are in charge, and doing things in whatever order you prefer is your prerogative! Enjoy the process.
I love all your projects and especially love that you are doing it your own way❤️ Keep it up - you're a true inspiration 💪
Sounds like parathas are badly made chapatis! 😉🤭😂
Hey, Sweetie!!! You do YOU!!! NO accounting to anyone else!!! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your surroundings!!! 🥰🥰🥰
You can be so proud of yourself for everything that you have accomplished. You go girl.
What a throwback! Insanity!!! Wasn’t that like 2005??!!!
Haha I think I did it around, maybe… 2015?
I feel so relaxed after watching you. I look forward to every other Sunday when your video notification pops up. Well done Rosie xx
What satisfying clicking sounds are coming from the happy wood and wood person. Fantastic job Rosie! Well done! 💕
Enjoy it :)
Love the multidirectional flooring, it really adds something to the room.
Also, you must have super strong arms from all that hand sawing! 😂
Rosie, your floor is excellent and your draw awesome. Thank you for allowing to share your adventure from Australia.
Love you Rosie ❤️. Love your joy, smile 😄 & that you are creating your own special sacred space 🙏👌. Just beautiful
Rosie I think you are absolutely AMAZING. All the things you have done by yourself in your cottage absolutely brilliant
You take pride in all you do ,well done you xx❤
Your "Greetings from the Swedish forest" was translated as " Gretings from the SWEETEST forest" How accurate can youtube mistakes be!?!?!?
❤
You are renovating a house all by yourself, and you have to walk or take the bike to go grocery shopping. Not to mention that you have to carry everything home! Compared to my own sedentary life, that's plenty of exercise! But the running seems like a beautiful habit. Wood chopping and axe throwing are two cheap alternatives. 😁
I love watching your videos. It’s even more entertaining watching the order you do tasks in, who cares how they get done, it’s YOUR home. 🏡 Thank you sharing.
I’m glad to see the room cleared out with the floor down. You’re really going to benefit from using that space. Cheers!
