What I fine some of them are a disservice to us . They need teach you spiritual things so when u encounter problems. Fake people could take advantage. Why is it that when asked about uploading any lyrics that have to do with ANY Orisha worship no one uploads the lyrics? If we are to worship and sing with conviction how can we do that if we cannot even with pride explain to someone who doesn't know the language what we sing? This religion is heavily based on tradition. Most of it is passed down by being there, no one really teaches you the songs. The ways of the religion are taught by participation. So, when it comes to trying to teach someone word for word and translating word for word, it's very difficult if you yourself were not taught those things. You just know that the music and the drummings and the vibrations within this atmosphere call out to your spirit. You don't always know why. You just feel like this is where you need to be and this is where you belong. For some people that's good enough. Some people want to know more and there's nothing wrong with that. I am not of African ancestral roots or origins - yet I am so drawn here, more and more as of later in life and feel it all through my bones, my body and every shred of fiber of my spirit being. This is home.

Why is it that when asked about uploading any lyrics that have to do with ANY Orisha worship no one uploads the lyrics? If we are to worship and sing with conviction how can we do that if we cannot even with pride explain to someone who doesn't know the language what we sing? I can pronounce it all correctly and sing it but i have no idea what i am saying and i cannot with pride explain what i sing to anyone that hears me sing and is touched and moved by the music or the song? Instead i have to lower my head and say I do not know what I am saying. I can feel it deep in my bones but cannot believe the selfishness still in this world that keeps such things to themselves. Orunmila never stated in any of his Odus to keep such knowledge. I Praise and Respect Orunmila, Olódùmarè ,Olofi, Ela and all the Orishas and Egun but wow it it such a shame no one shares. It easily shows me why the land where it comes from continues to be in the state it is in. This is not an attack to anyone just a fact. @@Mariatheemermaid i don't need to initiate to have a connection. I don't need to initiate to sing to an Orisha. That is the problem today, man has turned this into a business and I am not here to fill man's pockets.. Not for me I do just fine going to the ocean to sing when Yemaya calls to me, to the river when to sing when Osun calls me, I go to the jungles and forests when Osain calls to me and i never leave disappointed. I am grateful to them and the knowledge they give. I sing my own songs that come forth from my heart. For ALL the Orishas know my heart. I just wanted to know the words of the song. I see now I don't need to know them. Because what is given by me when i sing is my veneration, and my gratitude and my most humble offering my voice.

@joan Gonzalez Some of us have been hearing these songs from since we were little children and we ourselves are not sure how to translate or even spell the words. This religion is heavily based on tradition. Most of it is passed down by being there, no one really teaches you the songs. The ways of the religion are taught by participation. So, when it comes to trying to teach someone word for word and translating word for word, it's very difficult if you yourself were not taught those things. You just know that the music and the drummings and the vibrations within this atmosphere call out to your spirit. You don't always know why. You just feel like this is where you need to be and this is where you belong. For some people that's good enough. Some people want to know more and there's nothing wrong with that. Some of us just don't know how to deliver that information. Peace and blessings.

There is SO MUCH recorded about how religion is part of the weapon used to strip African and indigenous people of their power & identity. About how to systematically disempower people. Why wouldn’t they get you to identify with their religion that ALLOWED slavery??? Someone said - if they TRULY knew Who God was and knew how to get to heaven - they would NEVER tell the people they colonised. Their identity is TAKING. Not ever GIVING.
