I snapped at a Jacho person when they asked why my unplugged heating pad was under my workstation, I hollered "because I am hemmorrhaging from uterus and it is exceptionally painful but we are too short-staffed for me to call out! So its either this, or one less nurse!". ... They had no further questions.
I work for the state of Texas as an ER nurse in a university hospital. It's even worse. We not only have Joint Commission but we also have "mock" inspectors that all work for the state but have no clue what's going on so they just make up rules. They took our coffee maker and microwave from the break room because they said it might be a fire hazard. Meanwhile these same administrators have Kurigs and mini-fridges in their offices right around the corner from the ER.
Nursre Becky has PTSD... or just grew a pair. I told my Head nurse that she doesn't want me answering my country's equivalence of the joint commission, I never remember the tiny details of all the protocols. Put me on the night shift before!

This came at the right time. I'm per diem and when I came to work my first shift in over a week, the state survey just ended 😂 I get so nervous when they've asked questions in the past.
JCHAO visited a unit I was working on about five years ago and said the cork boards on the unit aren't safe/healthy! We had to get rid of them...SMH!!!
Oh, I have often thought that we could create a show out of the Drama that goes on at work. There is so much material. We just had a meeting 2 days ago with a PowerPoint presentation about joint commission visiting soon.

The tape was too accurate. My joint commission literally audited us on using whiteboards bc the residue was harmful to the walls
