Fra en aften hvor jeg gik stille rundt, så jeg pludselig en mørk klump/plet på ca. en meter i diameter, forsvinde hurtigt forbi en træstub. Jeg slog det hen med at jeg nok bare endnu engang var ved at lade mig snyde af en skygge der passerede. Få sekunder efter fik jeg så øje på en lille mørk klump der begyndte at fise frem og tilbage. Der kom en lille klump mere frem, og bedst som jeg var begyndt at filme, fik jeg ud af øjenkrogene øje på en rigtig stor en af slagsen, som lige pludselig kom i tanke om at bevæge sig ud lige foran mig, sammen med "skyggen" som jeg nu havde fundet ud af, var en hel masse af de små nuttede maskebanditter. Super fed oplevelse, især fra 2:15 hvor den ammer nogle af hvalpene på en afstand af kun 6-7 meter.

Here's what I don't understand, they are being killed because they are vicious right? They will eat anything is what I'm told and if they cross paths with a human they will attack them. It's obvious this is being filmed by a human and it's not a bush camera and the mother definitely has picked up the scent yet she runs, she doesn't seek out the danger and try to kill it or attack it to scare it away. Can someone fill me in on why they are considered so dangerous to humans? I can see them being a danger to small children, babies, etc, but full grown adults too?

Vicious is probably only the few who judge them to be, but otherwise they are seen by many as a threat to native species, as it is considered an invasive species. I do not mean that the "problem" is as bad as it gets made out to be. I have never seen anything that shows that a wild raccoon dog has been dangerous to adults, nor children. The worst thing would be with bacteria, if people were to eat fruit or vegetables that the raccoon dog has urinated on. Yes I filmed them with a handheld camera and when they were closest the distance was approx. 6-7 meters. The wind was very weak that night, but still it drives quite a bit, and yes, there is probably no doubt that it caught me in the wind, especially from 5:00 - 5:13, and it is clear that it only thinks on getting away in a hurry.

@@Barbarra63297 The problem with the species is the impact is has on the local biodiversity, not so much the effect on people. It will eat almost anything, including protected species such as frogs etc. This is the main issue.

@@megaryan131313 I think I would be more afraid of our American Raccoon, they are very large and mother raccoons won't think twice about tearing you apart, plus they tend to carry diseases and rabies. In the USA if you don't have a critter guard on your chimney top a raccoon will get inside it, I learned that the hard way...twice! lol
