Working on a Dvorak song for my voice lessons right now (op55 no1) and really excited about it. I sort of worked in the opposite direction, where getting into longer music in the form of progressive rock helped me understand classical better.
Belew opened his show with this gorgeous song in Chicago (Evanston) in October 2019. What a fabulous show. We were literally six feet from the stage in that tiny venue. As the show ended my beautiful and intrepid wife maneuvered herself even closer, reaching out her hand to him as he was hustled offstage - and he reached back and touched her hand. Needless to say, she never washed that hand again. JK. Love love love Belew. We are lifelong fans of KC in all its iterations, and have a particular soft spot for the Fripp-Wetton-Bruford-Cross lineup of our high school days, but Belew added a whole new dimension to KC. Genius. I've never seen anyone enjoy performing as much as Belew does. He truly shaped two decades of Crimson. Thanks Adrian. We love you. Live forever!

All of those are tracks thst don't reach the 5 mins length (a decent chunk of them don't even reach 4 mins). The list grows if you set the bar to 6 mins length. King Crimson only doing epic 8 or over mins long pieces till Bellew is a myth.
Arrived because of JoJo. Stay because it is a soothing, magnificent song. The way King Crimson creates the soothiness ambience through the clean guitar (or violin? Honestly proves the point) is so on point. I synesthetically picturing it like a man sitting by the open window on a near-dusk thinking about his loved ones patiently hoping for waiting--Matte, Kudasai.
robert fripp already knows about the "it just works" meme from part 5, so i wouldn't be surprised if he found out about hirohiko araki referencing this specific song as well good on araki for picking this song too because it's a real gem in the king crimson catalog
I don't even know what to say. It's perfect. Discipline is one of those albuns where i can't pick a favorite track, but the closest to being my favorite has to be Matte Kudasai.
I just recently discovered that Araki had started Part 9 already about a year ago. While I was binge reading, when Usagi’s Stand was revealed to be Matte Kudasai I practically yelled fuck yeah. It felt so fucking good to see my favorite KC song get referenced.
