Low tier War Thunder has some of the goofiest tanks in the game, including a lot of so-called landships. These are multi-turreted heavy tanks that are incredibly funny to use, with the Soviet T-35 heavy tank being the best by far.

A Tad Long:
Alot more Complex than That but It was Understandable at The Time and to Today
Tanks were too Slow, Weak and The Tech to Make Them Better was Really Expressive, not even Mentioning The Great Depression, ETC, The Material simply didn’t Exist
And Mass Medium Arms like Rifleman Meant so much more than Their Support unlike Today where Essential Tech like Control-Alt-Delete The Target Missiles Really Do Determine The Result more than Ever
So Think IFVs, General Light Tanks, Tanks for Fighting Infantry, which Is Objectively what All Good General Tanks Are Designed for
People, Infantry, Are Still The Center of Everything in Social Society
Cautious Artillery Platforms to Suppress anything It Cruises upto Really Isn’t That Bad per The 10s, 20s and Even mid 30s when most Didn’t Have Modern Armor Superiority Tanks with Speed and Caliber and very little Infantry Armor Weapons
Great Technological Leaps in Production and Quick Necessity to Escape Cultural Decline and Stagnation During WW2 Rapidly Forced All Tankery to Evolve into The True Mediums of Armored Mobile Ground Artillery We Know Today
WW2, Cold War and Budgeting, Alotta ETC, Explicitly Restandardized The Thought Process of Main Battle Tanks into what We Call MBTs Today
Funni Thing about That Term
Before It Really Meant a Good Medium Tank that can Do an All round Job and Support Infantry Primarily and Vehicle Superiority Secondarily
It Should Actually Be Medium BT and Objectively The Bradley Is Actually a Better MBT than The Abrams
It Objectively Outperformed The Abrams in Every Burn both Greater and Lesser despite slightly higher Casualties and Being Made out of Significantly Weaker Tissue Paper and Bubblegum Materials
Common Casual MBT Use has Abandoned most of It’s Practical Meaning for Armor Superiority, what Modern “MBTs” Are for
Just like WW2 and All History, more Dedicated Rolls like IFVs, APCs, MRAPs and countless subvariations of These and Countless more Are what Really Win Armored Wars as Their Predecessors Always have
Light Tanks, Medium Tanks, Scout Tanks and Dedicated Tank Destroyers All Are Superior at Their Dedicated Jobs in That Order per WW2
Much of This Complexity has Blended Together as Simplification and Modularity
Possibly to Cheapen Individual Vehicles to Pay for short bursts of Tech per Vehicle and Their short Term and Unexpected Usage
And also because You can’t just Fund a Million Armor Experiments a Year like back in WW2
Also Because some Fancy Suited People and OOT Officers will Actually Lie to Your Face and Claim Tank Crews Approved of Removing the Promised AC Units from Their Overpriced Armored Coffins

"I feel like a pirate ship"
That lazy town song popped in my head for the entire 18 kill game.
Spookston playing lowtier and just creating a pool of massacred german tanks is such a Spookston Moment
Spook casually forgetting that he can swap ammo by clicking on it. the 76mm also has APHE, a very good APHE in fact
i think only the F-36 76mm gun has good APHE. The L-10 and L-11 76mm guns are quite middling. The KT-28 76mm on the T-35 here is awful, with the 45mm having 3x the penetration.
@@jasperlim8319
76mm shell with 150g.
the flat pen is bad, but look at the angle pen. in terms of angle pen, it is better than a lot of APFSDS shells.
all soviet 76mm guns are good if you can aim for weak spots and can use the excellent angle pen they have.
But have you considered that HE is funny?
At this tier the 45 APHE one-shots virtually everything anyway
the Soviets saw the Vickers A1E1 Independent and were like "this is the future!"

Would love to see it
I have also never quite understood how were these multi-turreted tanks with 10 or 15 crew supposed to work IRL in a real combat situation. Were they supposed to have just one commander who would all by himself have to give orders to the gunners and loaders of all the different turrets via radio? Like for example: "gunner of the 76 mm turret, engage that infantry group at 9 o' clock with HE, while men of the 45 mm turred number 2 on the starboard side load AP and fire at that enemy tank at 15 o' clock!" or something like that? Or would rather all the turrets have their own sub-commanders who would just be given rough firing sectors by the "captain" / the superior commander of the entire tank but would independently choose their targets within that sector of responsibility? Either way, sounds like a very impractical solution that would almost certainly massively overload the commander with work in a hectic situation, probably the reason why all modern tanks have just 1 turret and 3-4 crew.
You are not the first to come up with that criticism. A lot of the articles and videos out there mention it. On the other hand: 1. Warships have the same problem, so the moniker "Landship" could also apply to organization 2. In theory trench warfare is more predictable. While there are more targets and enemy fire in the vicinity, you have a chance to observe things and plan before starting the battle...in theory.
the turrets probably were meant to operate somewhat indepedantly, shooting at targets of oportunity. similar to a ww1 tank with its sponsoons.
11:18 "You're not gonna believe this Jean-Louis! All of them have ribbon insignias!"
"I don't know how a tank like this would work organizationally"
That's the fun part, it didn't.
My most fond (See angering) memory of the T-35 was once when my MG turret got hit with AP, struck the MG ammo and and I died from a "ammo detonation"
From a fully healthy vehicle I might add.
same thing happens with the M6 and T1E1 if you shoot the turret with solid AP or back of it with APHE
My wirbelwind has died so many times from "ammo detonation" it's not even funny, and those rounds are barely largely than MG rounds. The mechanic needs a rework.

Bro the editing in this video makes it 100 times more entertaining than past videos I've seen lol
I met a ww2 Vet who fought in the Italian army as a tank driver. What tank did he operate you may ask? The Fiat 2000, a WW1 prototype heavy tank. It was very cool to hear his story.
You got me into this game no lie
Hey Spookston imagine you are blessed by the snail and it gives you three options:-
(a) Fix volumetric
(b) Fix damage on solid shot and APDS
(c) Never get killed by CAS again
Which one will you choose?
It MUST be the CAS option, especially for Spook. You can bear a botched shot, but CAS revenge kills where they shortly after crash just to make sure YOU are dead, 'cause petty reasons, not contributing to anyone but themselves. Why is CAS so damn cheap to spawn, why is CAS overrepresented in a TANK BASED GAME MODE, WHY?!🤬 I am not even playing the damn game and I am furious. 🤣
i heard you hate british vehicles, vehicles that do no damage and vehicles that are basically CAS magnets, so i think you should play the ratel 90; a gigantic british light tank with no armor, that only gets 90mm HEAT with a 7 second aced reload and that somehow always gets strafed by planes before it's even allowed to leave spawn (day 43)
the funny part about this is that the vehicle is south african, not even british
Your content has improved in quality a lot recently
Gotta love the quality of this video with all the cut ins and memes.
Also I feel like as the time passed Spookston seems to be more emotional/happy sounding lol
For once, spookston is not harrassed by cas each passing second, the specific time he uses a vehicle class, notoriously vulnerable to air attack.
what were they gonna do? torpedo it?
also low tier both has very few planes with good payloads and even fewer players that can bomb accurately
Spook playing a giant plane target, well in reality the nightmare was for the commander Controlling so many turrets at the same time.
There was a commander for each turret
Your music choice never fails to make me feel nostalgic
The T-35 really was an ergonomic nightmare. Imagine being a commander of a platoon-sized crew that is separated from each other and mans five turrets of three different calibres. All of that without any intercom.

It's worth noting that because Tanks were an invention of Naval people, some were really insistent on using naval terminology and ideas even when crafting theoretical doctrine.
I believe Patton wrote something likening armored cars to cruisers that would scout for the landships, and that both armored cars and landships would be organized into squadrons and flotillas.
to be fair that was the only real experiance with mechanized warfare in the begining. and you have fleets of cars so why not flotillas (small fleets) of tanks
