Also, could you do a video of the tubes required for different tests like BMP, CBC, etc? @@SimoneNicoleTV it’s definitely a challenge everything is going good so far it’s just kinda challenging learning the medical terms & additives in the tubes but it gets easier you just have to take time to study 📚 I take my National exams May 2nd & 3rd so definitely nervous 😬 lol I’m thinking about going for my Medical assistant license next ☺️
Very good work Donna. I have a blood phobia since I was a child. Seeing blood or draw the blood makes me sick and dizzy. This week I'm starting therapy to over come blood phobia and hoping to work in healthcare like you or in Blood Manufacturing Laboratory. Do you know someone who had blood phobia and did over come it?
I’m a phlebotomist as well! Many of my coworkers actually used to have blood phobias and STILL have needle phobias!! I think it’s actually very handy well being sympathetic with patients. Nobody likes a needle, so a good blood draw experience is of course always preferred :)

Take your time, eventually you will know most the test and requirements. You will not know everything but there are always resources out there and co workers that can help you out.. good luck!!!

I'm a phlebotomist and we take blood samples, urine, faeces, we perform ecgs, urine drug screens, all swabs, fungal collections, c14 helicobacter pylori tests, 24 hr blood pressure monitors and holter monitors. Do you guys also do these in the U.S as part of your job?. Interesting to see your process.
@@mommieslyfe1449 not really I actually thought I failed but it’s because I overthink a lot during my exams , good luck!! They will ask a lot of stuff about procedures like what to do when something happens .
Just be open to all your trainers suggestions. What works for them may not work for you. But take your time and you’ll find your flow! Good luck with everything!!!
It’s a stepping stone if you wanna get into medical field. It depends on what you really want to do. Are you okay with blood,with needles, with any bodily fluids?

Phlebotomist make around 20 something per hour...The lowest can be around 18 when ur just starting. 50k to 60 k per year is about the above average. Not as high as a nurse,respiratory, radiologist, but way easier job.
Yeah I'm male and I'm planning to take it. When u research and look for random school and photos taken, you'll see 2 to 3 guys, and about 10 girls..that's about the ratio.
for your skin all you need is to sleep, yeah i know this isn't what you expected but its your best bet, as well as drinking water and avoiding greasy foods and what i mean by that is don't eat junk food more than twice a week , exercise is a must to detox by sweating/pooping/peeing lol im not a certified anything i just spoke out of my heart, i applied this to myself and now I'm just a walking chick magnet after 5 months share your results with me oh and NO staying up late get at least 8 hours of sleep example if you work at 6am go to sleep at 8pm-9pm NO EXCUSSES also how do i convince a company to train me to be a phlebotomist, how do i convince them I'm not a waste of resource
Yes I’m 18 and always get anxiety when I get my blood drawn but you make it not so scary. I get my blood drawn today and there always rough as to why I’m always nervous it hurts. I prefer gentle 🥹 because I’m a tiny girl haha

How long did it take you to become a phlebotomist?
:/ don't throw the tubes in the bag and gently place the tubes on counter don't toss. 70% of errors happen before specimens make it to the lab.

Mom a .1 FTE meaning i only work 4 hours a week. Which is a 4 hr shift on Saturdays, and yes I only work by myself…☺️

What are the requirements for this job? I have a psych degree and work in the field of psych but looking to change fields.
You need a certificate from a trade school, it only takes a year or less
I thought the label goes on immediately after the specimen in front of the patient
