Just needed to refresh skills. I like how quick and effective you teach, not a lot of words not related to the subject, very specific and to the point.
Thank you so much for your video, I think that after all videos that I've watched with a different order of draws.. this is the FIRST that I honestly understood and is very clear. I would like to ask if you could make a video, telling us the most basics or common test that you usually take during a day, and with respective tubes! THANKS again
Thank you for your videos! I've been a phlebotomist for almost a year and a half, and it's nice to other phlebotomists on UA-cam. I'm sad there's not more haha! I'm a first time mom due April 2020 and I'm on a video binge watch lol. Much love! 😊❤
So helpful love this video thank you , I was told if you are doing sodium citrate even with a straight needle you always have a “discard” tube red or blue only to get a little splash is this correct ?
I have training as a medical transcriptionist and I hear these terms all the time. It's cool to see what the process really is and not just transcribe the report afterwards!
Sincerely Katelyn yay!! You know, I considered going into the transcriptionist field? How is it? Schooling and maybe pay? If you don’t mind me asking? I’ve heard a lot of working remotely with your field.. thanks for the info!! And thanks for watching!!!
SHE- sterile Blood Cultures BRINGS- Blue REALLY- red GOOD- green LOLLIPOPS- lavender GIRL- gray Then the specialty tubes This is a good way to remember.
I'm so confused too. I am about to take my second course in phlebotomy because I didn't complete the test on my first round because I knew I would fail the exam because of the order of draw and what they contain.
I've watched every phlebotomy video I can find and the really need help or advice on what I can do to better remember all the test associated with the test tubes. I got the order of draw memorized, the additives, and the inversion numbers but I can not memorize all the test associated. If you have any advice I'd really appreciate it.
Hi Ma'am, I would like to ask if what is the appropriate tube for PLATELET AGGREGATION TEST? I was confused because there are a lot of info's on the internet and I don't know if those answers are the correct ones.
I already know the different, it’s absolutely the same tube but the only thing that’s different is how the laboratory specialist use it in different way from the EDTA tube, thanks for let me check it by myself.
I love the video! It's very helpful when trying to memorize the different departments but, you never explained why you add the red tube if using the butterfly method. 🤷
because sometimes air bubbles can get trapped in the tubing of the butterfly needle and we cannot have air bubbles getting into the blue top tube because it has to be filled up until the top line. By drawing a red top tube first, (sometimes called waste tube) we can eliminate having that bubble in the tubing. thanks for watching!!!! Take care!!!
Love your channel! I myself am looking into becoming a phlebotomist 🤞😌. Do you see yourself being in this career for a long time why or why not? I would really love to hear back! Thank youu☺️
Hi! I don’t see myself leaving the lab world anytime soon after 11yrs in it.. I may work less but I’ll be around. I love the flexibility of work schedule and the people I work with!! Wish you all the best on becoming a phleb! I’m here if you ever have any questions..😉
dee abz Thank you sooo much for the response! I didn’t think you would after all those yrs but some ppl surprise you when they want to switch up their careers to something total different. I appreciate the best wishes! Thanks again 😊😊
Is the reason your drawing a red top before the light blue coag with a butterfly because there is air in the butterflies tubing ? So the red top would just be a discard tube ? I’m trying to review for my NHA 🙂 Thank for your phlebotomy series it has been very helpful for me.

@@deeabz Great explanation! Thank you very much!
I am from India please confirm for jobs required any laboratory
Phlebotomy student here. Why aren't you doing yellow, light blue, lavender? I thought yellow was for sterile testing.
So when you have to memorize the order of draw does it go by colors speechifying or the departments that you have laid out
jolene dejesus just the colors, always follow the order of the colors
Whats happen to your gray tube
very nice video lots of good information
Janae Lally hi! Thanks for watching!!!

thnks my sister
This video is very helpful , do you know where I can buy the tubes . I am a visual learner and I want the tubes
Amazon
Can you make a video of how much blood we have to collect in the tubes please
I will try to work on that luvz!😉
I'm just starting, I wanna cry
You got this momma!
Sorry I just saw this.. how are you?
How come the order changes based off the needle?
If we use a butterfly, especially in the blue top, we don’t want air bubbles in the tube. So we are gonna need a “waste” tube..
So the order of draw order depends on whether you use a butterfly or not?
Only if you’re drawing a blue top
@@deeabz Ok
