I actually started my cactus journey about 5 months ago. I started with about 4 different types of cactus and now I have about 50 including the babies in the nursery pots 🌵😵💫🌵
I'm too nervous to have cacti because I have my siblings (extremely rambunctious, clumsy and oblivious to harm) kids 3 - 5 days a week, so I live vicariously through your videos and shorts. 😆

Sadly understandable :(

Any cat safe beefs that will deter a cat from biting it but not injure the cat 😅? My mother’s cat eats any plant we’ve tried to put in my moms room. Kitties favorites are Pothos tenders with a side of Spider Plant fries seasoned with a dash of Snake plant and a hint of Thanksgiving cactus. She leaves orchids alone surprisingly but she’s knocked them off of dressers before so they have to be on surfaces the cat can’t reach. Oh yea I started some pumpkins inside last year and she REALLY loved the taste of Pumpkin leaves. I

I got a ‘cuddly cactus’ about 6 months ago, I’m TERRIFIED to water it! I’ve killed a handful of cacti/succulents watering super sparingly. Now I’m afraid to give them water until they’re already dead from drought 💀
I meen if you using tap water it's best to leave it 24 hours and giving it a stir every now and again to get rid of some of crap you don't want in there. But I've been guilty of it every now and again when your feeling lazy
I was just gifted my first baby “beef” the soil is completely dry, I don’t know when it was last watered, I just repotted it into terracotta bc it’s last pot didn’t have drainage. I don’t want to shock it too much, should I get it a few days to settle before watering or drown it now?
Hey Krystal I water mine every 1-2 weeks in the summer :O Is that bad? They have drainage and the soil is completely dry when I water and they are in fairly small pots which is why they probably dry out often...I stop watering in October time when the days get shorter and star again in spring
If it’s just in stones, when you water it the water will just run through and the roots won’t have a chance to soak any of it in. You want fast draining but not too fast
They go dormant in the winter but they will still require water just not as often. My small cacti that I water once a month, I consider watering once every other month instead during the winter

You should consider getting a shower attachment with a hose so you can water everything easier. It's also useful for both people and pets too!
