  • Welcome to another video!
My jalapenos are going back outside.
This'll be their 5th year, and at some point you'll notice that older wood won't die, but just stop producing and at that point there's some easy pruning you can do to get it producing again.
I hope everyone considers overwintering their peppers, as you'll be ahead of the game on getting a crop if you do!
    Thank you for watching!

Your Jalapenos are really doing well! Great video showing how to stimulate future growth through selective pruning. I have never seen such woody pepper plants grown in containers, very cool! Seriously stout! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much Dave! Yeah, growing them this way gives you a major head start. I often refer to them as Jalapeno "trees" because they do have such woody stems, lol! And it takes barely any effort, especially now seeing how well they respond to simply being cut back to bare branches, which will probably be the path I take going forward.

I like to add some soil to top back off, with some organic fertilizers added to it (worm castings, blood and bone meal). That seems to work well.
