Lovely vlog. You work so hard yet manage to look so elegant! Love the music you choose to accompany your video. I work a lot on my garden so it’s really nice watching someone else working on theirs! But everything is looking lovely in your garden. X
Living in the UK one has to use every bit of good weather for working outside. Great progress on the log shed, it will be an asset. Your herbs garden is looking good and it will be even more beautiful once you match the other side looking similar . So much work ahead but it is very rewarding. Take care you both and carry on 🤗👌 Greetings from North West
Hi Louisa! pulling weeds can take hours ,I know !! when all finished the garden does look so nice! I like the door for the shed and how the shed is built on bricks love that !! Take care ~ Paula
I have paviours that weeds grow in between, after years of pulling them out by hand I now just pour boiling water from the kettle, it works wonders. I realise you can't do it on a large space, but once the weeds are cleared it looks so much better. Great work especially in the heat. 🌞👒🐾
I find it easier to pull weeds after a good rain. The weeds come up without so much effort. And my soil is clay, the worst - you have to amend the soil to plant anything.
Log store is going to look great. Unfortunately summer appears to be coming to an early end for many of the summer flowers and vegetables. Your garden is looking good.
Gosh I felt for you weeding in that heat. If you aren’t in a hurry to get the herb bed up and running it’s worth investigating “ the no dig” approach, championed by Charles Dowding. Certainly saves on a lot of back breaking work.
A cardun plant!!! My daughter worked in a garden and brought home what i thought were dried artichoke flowers.. she corrected me and told me they were carduns. Are they related to artichokes? They look like them. The blooms are gorgeous. I have dried ones over mantle.
Please tell me if you remove the lower leaves of your artichoke. Mine is HUGE and covers half the garden, despite the fact that the chokes grow only at the top. These huge leaves seem extraneous and I wonder if it’s OK to get rid of them. We’re two weeks away from spring here in Australia, so the growth is happening now.
Buongiorno, you're missing one of the best things in gardening, making your own compost. Instead of putting it in the bin, it can be stacked in a corner of your garden, it doesn't smell and it is the best fertiliser ! Don't put cooked food on it, it will attract rats. But, try it ?
Yes, I know! It's on my to-do list for next year. I have only really started giving my garden attention this year and next year I hope to implement my bigger garden plan, including a compost heap.
You give Marc credit for a lot of work but you are the worker too. You are fashion designer. You go girl.
Thank you. This project is definitely a joint effort.

You are so right. I normally do the same. So much easier.

I am anticipating an Indian summer 🤞🏻🤞🏻
😊😊the garden looks amazing, the variety of plants. So nice after you weeded. Not over manicured.
I am trying to keep it carefree and rustic 😊 Thank you
Great Video...
Glad you enjoyed it
Backbreaking in the heat! 🏋♀
Yes, I was a little too ambitious
You are the nattiest gardener I've seen.
Thank you ☺️
Do you have a compost pile? It would provide you with free more amenable soil.
I need to start a compost heap. I just haven't decided when it will be situated yet.
That looks like some hard digging! Wonder if putting down some cardboard or landscaping fabric to kills the grass and weeds? May save the back!
I will just tackle it again when it's rained. There are very few weeks left. I just want to clear it before I finish the hard landscaping
PS loved the photo with my daughter in law who now follows you herself!
Oh goodness, did she tell you how embarrassed I was? 😂😂😂
Maybe you could put some weed cloth on the path till you get more bricks to save you having to weed again x
They don't bother me too much. Hopefully my nephew will build me a lovely path in September.

I did the no dig method on the first bed 😊
The log store is looking good but should you be putting a door on because of the air getting to the logs
You are correct but there are two things - we can leave the doors open + Mark is doing something whizzy inside. All will become clear 😊

Wonderful!

Yes, I have been renovating the lower leaves, mainly because they look dead 😊
Just curious. Do yu compost your green waste?
Oh my goodness...less stress on my body and mindset l wait two/three day's after a storm to do weeding 😅
That would be a far more sensible plan in future.
❤😊
😊
I’m experimenting with a 20% acetic acid (vinegar) herbicide….kills anything green on contact, so I am thinking perfect for annual weeds in paths….
Great tip.

Your soil looks very mean and dry and hard. How on earth do you garden in that?
It's actually beautiful soil but it has been so hot it's suddenly really solid.
