This week, Mark & I go antiquing at Holt Antiques & Interiors, a haven for antique and vintage interior treasures! Holt Antiques is one of our absolute favourite spots, filled with unique finds from a variety of dealers. If you love antiquing, this is a must-see emporium of classic and timeless pieces for any interior enthusiast.
Next, we head to Emmaus in Cambridge, a charity shop with a difference. The fast turnover of stock at Emmaus makes it a thrilling experience-sometimes we leave with bag loads, and other times empty-handed.
Both antique hunting experiences are quite different but equally exciting. It's all about the thrill of the chase.

If you are ever in Sheringham the shire horse sanctuary has a barn of antiques. I don’t know if it opens over winter. A good place for a mooch.

Loved all the garden planters and pictures, and there was a huge beautiful copper pot that was gorgeous at Holts. I love cookbooks too.

Our family stayed in Holt a couple of summers ago. There was an incredible beach not too far from there, that had a wonderful collection of fossils.
Actually, a dear friend found a wooly mammoth tooth there about five years ago 🦣

We went in to the antiques centre on a whim last week and said what a leap it had taken. We loved a vast gouache for £1,800 😮and have been going down a René Fumeron rabbit hole of discovery online ever since.
And yes - Star Plain Stores is great for lunch.
I can feel myself going down a rabbit hole too now. I'm not familiar with René Fumeron.
I hadn't been in to Star Plain deli before because it says on the outside cheese, wine & coffee, which is exactly what they serve 😊 As I don't drink coffee or eaten cheese (and driving, so can't drink wine) the signage always deterred me. It was lovely there, but the menu was very limited for my dietary requirements & they didn't serve green tea. Disaster! 🤣 I have a plan for next time however, Mark can drive and I will gladly have a liquid lunch 🤣

The lead horses and coach looked like The Queens Golden Coach from her Coronation 1953 ,I found one here in Florida a few years ago at a junk store .Every school kid had one I broke mine as the wheels were fixed and me pushing it back n forth on the floor the wheels fell off .

Oh wow Auckland Grammar School from little ol New Zealand where we are from. C M Littlejohn was the headmaster of Takapuna Grammar School for 8 years before he went to AGS. Our sons went to TGS so Littlejohns portrait hangs in the halls. Crazy small world. Now I want to know all about ES Paykel 😂 Thanks for another lovely video, they are a soft place to land it has been mad busy the past few weeks too mad! I have some catching up to do. Another emporium to add to the list next time we are up that way. Hubby will be there for the toasty ha ha!!
