- Tips and Instructions are only to be used for the Flight Simulator on your PC! It should go without saying that I am only flying a PC Simulator, not a real aircraft. My videos therefore are not intended as professional instruction! And my videos do not show SOP ( Standard Operating Procedure) of any distinct airline.
Please leave a thumbs up if you liked the video. Cheers!

First class as always. Think I have saved a few virtual Euros on fuel for the VAs as a result of this subject!!! Many thanks!
Shame that virtual money isn’t paid out.
So good and a great transition recently from the basics of flying, to the nuances of how to plan for smoothness and procedures that you would experience IRL. Much appreciated BB.
Thank you very much Dave!
Really nice tutorial, thank you for sharing! During the early stabilized approach technic the VAPP should be inserted at FDP (Final descent Point) instead of FAF. They usually match, but they are different concepts. FDP is always at or above FAF.
Happy landings!
Thank you for your feedback 👍🏼
Great insights into the procedures of the A320. Thanks again, BB! Appreciating the FSL Airbus so much more with all this knowledge.
Thank you very much. I am always glad to hear that 👍🏼
Excellent as always
Great skills, very serious. That's awesome and absolutely nice to see. Greetings from France.
Thank you very much. Greetings to France 👍🏼
As always, I've learned a lot. Top notch tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you very much Jos!
I learn so much from your videos. Great work and thank you!!!
Thank you Eric 👍🏼
Just watched this again. Can't get enough of your video's and instruction. Can I ask you if you have these approaches as 'Saved Flights', or not. ;)
Hi. Thank you. Unfortunately I haven’t got any saved flights. Happy landings
Very nice video again. You're really helping me get to the next level :)
Thank you Ola. Glad I can help 👍🏼
Very well explained👌🏽
Thank you 👍🏼
Could you please add this video to your “Flight OPS Approach” Collection/Playlist??
Again, very helpful, thanks very much.
Great video as usual bb! Keep up the great vids! ~gillbi
My pleasure. Thank you for watching 👍🏼
How to manipulate decel point on decelerated approach in case of tailwind. What I can see on your video , you were experiencing headwind before intercept the localizer, but what if I’m case of tailwind? I am very doubt you can reduced the speed and configured to flap 1 . Thanks
Great video! Any idea when the video on performance will be uploaded?
Thanks
Very informative and useful. Thanks
Thank you Richard for the feedback 👍🏼
Would you mind adding this video to your Flight Ops Approach playlist? It would be helpful to have this along with the other ones in the same library. Thanks
Thank you will do
I am in the process of building a A320 at home. I was told about this site in the FSL forum. Excellent tutorials. Can I hear a german accent in the voice?
Yes, well spotted 😉
Ordnung muss sein!:) Mir gefallt das.
Hello black box, can you you think of a way we can fool the FMCG to fly a DPO descent, on a non option A320?
Hi. I haven’t seen any documents on how Airbus DPO software calculates the optimum descent. So I don’t think you can artificially program anything into the MCDU to mimic that DPO. The standard descent performance calculation is already fairly good.
@@Blackbox711 the thing is that non DPO descent assumes y the use of engine anti ice on the descent calculation, that’s why engines are not at idle during a managed decent.
Hi Blacky, Is the rudder yaw damper setting's ever used? I do not recall anyone using it at all. If the control is there. I am confused.
In the MCDU options? I never change any settings there regarding rudder.
Thanks for the great video! You had 3 landing inhibits, nearly every time I'm also encountering this inhibit's, sometimes also when taking off. How can I find out what is the cause for the inhibit?
Hi. That is a normal feature in the A320. During takeoff the T.O. Inhibit appears at 80 kts and is displayed intil 1500 ft AGL or 2 Minutes after takeoff power set. During landings it appears when descending below 800 ft AGL to 80 kts. It means that only the most important warnings will be displayed on the ECAM.
Blackbox711 so actually this does not mean "landing forbidden", I was confused and actually thought some configurations are not set correctly or parameters were wrong and he is telling me to abort the landing. But it seems its just a notice, thanks for the clarification!
Exactly. It just tells the pilots that at the moment the not so important messages and warnings are inhibited.
I have a question the use of autothrust depends on the company? Because I have seen videos where the autothrust was engage during manual landing and sometimes was disengage
Yes, depends on Airline SOP
@@Blackbox711 Thank you!!!
Hey Blackbox,
my father is in real life a pilot. He also flew longhaul on the A340 and he told me, that you should never Land with Autobrakes "low". The brakes could then wear out. I don't know if that is true, but I just wanted to say that...
Sorry, but that is definitely not what our airline procedures say. I have read a long study regarding brake wear etc. and never was there a conclusion that you should not use autobrake low. Fun fact as well: our airline has a modified autobrake low setting. Maybe your father is quoting the A340 SOP?
@@Blackbox711 That may be possible. As I said, I wasn't sure, so I just wanted to ask. But thanks for your answer, I'm going to ask him one more time...
Hello, can you tell me please, how did you bin Autothrotle disconnect autopilot as well? Or how to properly disconnect autopilot, and autothrotle. Thanks :)
I am using a plugin called FSUIPC. In there I can set all the buttons and switches like Autothrust and Autopilot disconnect
1 question, During the NDB approach you pressed the approach button, I thought that was used only with ILS and Rnav approaches, should I use it with any kind of approach?
The Final Approach Mode (APP button) can also be used with NDB/VOR Approaches as long as you monitor the raw data indications (NDB/VOR needles) and keep them in limits.
@@Blackbox711 Thank you!! Learned something new :)
Excellent tutorial sir as always. Are you a real world pilot??
Thank you. Yes I am.
Maybe differs between company but 70 kts is for rev max to idle, not for retracting in our company
Not as strickt at my company. Only spoilers are not to be retracted before reaching taxi speed.
I got many often during approach an early AP disconnect. Then the pitch increased to up and the engines accelareting. I don`t no why . Can you explan witch parameters a based for such AP disconnect? Are this bank angle or speed ?
Thanks in advance
Lothar
Hi. Are you using a weather updating software like Active Sky?
Yes, I`m using AS weather updating
Then you have to scale down the turbulence effects until these AP disconnects disappear.
Thanks for posting. Great instructions too. Are you using P3Dv4.2 and if so, where can we get that great scenery please? I'm already subcribing to you. ;)
Thank you very much! I am using ORBX Europe and in this case Aerosoft Mallorca and Madeira. Happy Landings
Are y'all going to come out with a settings video on V4?
Soon Greg.
Which is more realistic: FSLabs A320 or A320 Flight Factor ?
In what regard? Manual flight, system architecture?
Blackbox711 general, overall and the quality
The problem is that the FF320 is not completely modeled yet. So a full comparison is not possible. What I can say is that the FSLabs is a very good and well simulated aircraft addon. Especially the almost completely modeled FMS system and ECAM procedures. For XP11 the FF320 is without a doubt the best Airbus Addon available at this time. I personally enjoy flying it, however I am missing some features which are said to be implemented over the next couple of months. Maybe then I can do a fair comparison.
Thanks for these. Quick question, what are your pedal and stick settings for sensitivity and null? This looks very fluid. Fsuipc or no?
Hi. Please check PM. I am using FSUIPC but need to check at home what settings I have changed
Did you adjust your seat position? Mine looks more flat and the registration tag is better readable with me.
Hmmm. Not sure if I changed that lately. I will check, thanks
Blackbox711 i think it‘s the view. I used Virtual Cockpit, you probably use Captain view. I find Captain view very slow in the head movement. Maybe that‘s adjustsble somewhere?
For me that setting would be in Chaseplane.
Which add-on do you use for field and city textures ?
Hi. Should be aerosoft Mallorca.
@@Blackbox711 Not for Mallorca, I was talking about field around Geneva, I love the field colour.
How can upgrade from fsx to this one..what I have to do?
Unfortunately you will need to buy Prepar3d Software. And be aware that most of your airport addons will not work anymore. Same with some aircraft addons.
Sceneries are?
Mallorca and Menorca X Evolution from Aerosoft
you flew over my house in this video
You live in a very nice place!
Approaching with idle thr is not recommended.
Says who and from what altitude downwards?
