    Wonderful use of Brevity and Clarity describing the attributes of this particular power saw. An electricians screw driver as a Pointer/Yod, captured my attention toward details. The Garden Fish pond ending encapsulates your mindset. Masterful....

    Looks like a great little saw. For years I have had 12 V Bosch tools and been very happly with router, hammer drill, jig saw and reciprocating saws. No 12 v circular saw yet though. Very interesting. Nice video Sparky..

    You are awesome, sir. Such a helpful video! I have the tool and couldn't find what I needed in DeWalt's weird IKEA-like manual. This told me what i needed to slap on the blade and start cutting. Many thanks!

    I have an old 14.4 volt Dewalt saw and it’s not that great. When the 18 volt stuff came out I bought a whole set of them and was really pleased on the performance of the 18 volt circular saw, I still use it on a daily basis for work. I’m curious now about this 12 volt saw. I wonder if it’s any better thank the old 14.4 volt saw?

      Yes, I'm sure it's better. Lots of technological improvements and weight reduction since the 14.4V tools.

    Bill would you educate me on how GFCI / AFCI circuits work? I know you can have an GFCI / AFCI breaker, or GFCI / AFCI outlet. Do you need to install them all on a circuit? Need all outlets on circuit to be GFCI / AFCI? I have viewed your videos, but I am still a little confused. Thanks for help.

    • @TheNolanator1
      @TheNolanator1 2 роки тому +1

      Depends on what your local codes are and what NEC your state is using. There is a lot packed into this question so I would start some research if I were you. As rule of thumb, all wet locations and garages need gfci protection and all living spaces need afci. Again, it all depends on code. The afci/gfci breakers give protection for the entire circuit they control. Afci/gfci receptacles protect everything down stream of them (load side).

      @@TheNolanator1 Thank you. I have been researching. But I think Bill does an excellent job of explaining, and it would make a good video for other folks who maybe having the same kind of questions.

    • @TheNolanator1
      @TheNolanator1 2 роки тому +1

      @@markn2904 that's where things get odd for the question. SparkyChannel has many videos on gfci and afci. The channel feels like it's more on installs for people who have some fundamentals down. If you want pure electrical theory then you may want to start other research. I don't know if it was part of his old channel, but he has gfci videos that have install and code incorporated in them.

    Not understanding the 12V tools vs the 20 volt, not seeing the advantage. With the different voltages, are the 12 and 20 volt batteries interchangeable?

    • @pouuko7656
      @pouuko7656 2 роки тому

      The batteries are not interchangeable. The advantages for 12 volt tools is that 12 volt batteries are cheaper (since they have fewer lithium cells in them), might lighter weight, and usually more compact. For a large portion of tasks, a 12 volt tool is more than powerful enough to accomplish the task, all while being far lighter and less of a stress on your body to use. I own a 12 volt milwaukee impact driver and for almost every situation, including drilling holes, ive been able to accomplish the task quickly enough. It's easily the weight savings that is the big deal, since the M12 fuel is line a full pound lighter than the M18 fuel it feels

    • @SparkyChannel
      @SparkyChannel  2 роки тому +1

      I own both the 20V Max and the 12V Max versions of several of the DeWalt tools and I find myself using the 12V Max tools 70% of the time. The advantage is that they are quick and light and you can get them into places that you can't get a 20V Max tool. I still use the 20V Max tools when needed.

    • @ryanfabello9094

      In Milwaukee, its not interchangeable. BUT in DeWalt, you can, their charger can actually charge both their 12v and 20v but not their FlexVolt 60v. The difference is just power in voltage and size (compact).

    DeWalt can't keep their naming conventions straight. Max should be brushed and xr should be brushless.
