Here's a thought: Why didn't they just lock up Daedalus and the Mask up for good? At least take away the Mask's tools and seal up his cave, jeez guys, it's not hard!
This episode is titled "Hercules Foils The Mask of Vulcan". "Bewitch Birds" was the first episode the Birdmen appeared in.

Those Helmets were human head size until Hercules was grabbed by the Birdman and we see the Helmets were Giant head size.
