The evil wizard Daedalus has gained control of a flock of large Stymphalian birds that are looting the countryside of treasures-including King Dorian's crown. Hercules must stop them-but can he without his friends getting captured as well?

For being a limited animation production, I always thought that the artwork was very well done as was the music. The score that plays while Daedalus is scheming is eery. Too bad that cartoons of today don't teach kids a lesson or provide a positive reinforcement like this does. Yeah, some will say, "Oh my, it's way TOO violent!" Not so... the other stuff they see on TV is much more so. At least here, each episode of 'The Mighty Hercules' leaves you with closure of something good and the lesson that evil doesn't win. jupitr2 What's amazing about the music is that some of the underscore was lifted from several Hans J. Salter movie scores - the one most used is The Black Shield Of Falworth. Well worth looking up the movie just to hear the soundtrack in it's original form. If you really know the Mighty Hercules Cartoon-it will really blow you away. The common theme when Herc puts on his ring comes from that film. I also agree that the cartoon is well drawn. It's just simply done with limited animation. Cartoons at the time were all violent. It was the parents groups in the late 1960's that demanded that all the super hero cartoons be axed. That's how we ended up with Scooby Doo(True Story). As I've mentioned in other posts, The Mighty Hercules is airing in Canada-but only some of the episodes. The ones That I've posted are those that are not being aired or have not been released on DVD.

At the beginning of the opening, we see Hercules shooting an arrow at some burning thing up in the sky. I read elsewhere that it was a comet, NOT the sun.
But my question is, are those scenes actually from a whole complete other episode? If they are scenes from a complete episode, can they be found? I would love to see that.
