This is super cool. Used to have the ER1 before I started to play guitar and bass. Sold it then got into thrash metal. Been wanting to integrate a electribe sequenced audio into my setup for a few years. Prior to learning guitar I used to run the audio in out as a oscillator with pedals, DJ mixer. Made some cool sounds like that, felt like it could be used with guitar to make some strange stuff.
I have accumulated a high end 80's thrash rig since but always wanted to revisit it with guitar as the source.
From chopping to sequenced panning with delay and sequenced motion capture.
Used it to create analogue drum parts out of pedals/DJ mixers around 2000, the settings on the pedal/mixer change the sounds. Basically creating anologue sounds out of gain/tone and other settings.
Got the idea in the last few years to put an electribe into my guitar rig, just with sequenced audio in manipulated effects.
This video is cool and inspiring.
Run audio output into a gain stage (from a overdrive pedal/distortion/boost/DJ mixer what ever) and it will make sound which you can sequence.

plug in your guitar to audio in when you turn on the EA-1 clear out both patterns on parts 1 and 2 then set the pattern length to 1 for both for parts 1 and 2,
turn OSC1 to audio in, and the OSC balance all the way to OSC1.
press play and with the bpm and gatetime at the default settings, you should hear nothing but be able to see the sequence moving.
press the shift key, press and highlight the keys
hopefully this is coherent enough to help someone.

If you get ER-1 (the red one) you can do some gnarly gate tremolo effects.

Sorry for the bad English, I had to use a translator, my language is Spanish. The guitar is connected to the "Audio in" input. First of all you must deactivate the "Audio in thru" button and set the "OSC Balance" to "Osc1". The pattern must be empty in both parts, then you must assign the first step of whichever part with infinite duration. The guitar only sounds when a note is pressed, so the first step must always be pressed. Then press the "Play" button and that's it.

▪︎Myself & the other resident DJs/Producers here in Vancouver BC 🇨🇦🍁 at "3:6:T RECORDS, Inc.", will post a brief on how Electric Guitars & Basses, & the Korg Electribe EA-1 can be modulated, effects assisted, OSC1 & OSC 2 assisted & manipulated, computer I/O/T, &c., can be partially & or fully integrated.
▪︎Please give us at least a few weeks to work on a brief, it is just we are swamped with clients at the moment, but we will put one together & post in a PDF document.
      Best Regards,

Yes than blank out a sequence. Turn up gates for audio steps hit play with your desired bpm.

Hey there, I have one of these and can't for the life of me get the thing to shut up so I can just play my guitar through it and use its filters etc, like you are here. Whenever I hit play, the box just starts making noises of its own. Audio through button is off. I've done a factory reset. I have "Audio In" selected. OSC Balance set to OSC1. How is it that you're hitting play and ONLY the sound of your guitar is processed through it? Please help if you don't mind!

I expect you to understand, I don't speak English, I had to use a translator. The pattern must be empty in both parts and only the first "step" of the part you choose must be pressed all the time as you see in the video, the rest you were doing correctly.
