Justin's wife didn't utter a word, ever, speaking of cultural shock! The old gentleman was absolutely charming, one of those chaps you would love to play cards with and hear his life's stories. Rich, you are a courageous man and you have a woman by your side that is a jewel, not counting a precious baby, most people would gladly sit in your wheelchair to have the treasure you have, the best of luck in your life!

I like it when these shows can portray the half-unhappy outcomes. I understand it's very difficult for families allow the public into their lives when things have gone wrong. But it's also valuable for the public to understand that not everything can be fixed. Thanks for these families to show how it is when things go wrong.

Rich's outlook and humor at the end, speaks volumes of his true personality. He has the love of Hannah and his baby girl to get him through each day.❤ My 1st nursing job was with patients who suffered traumatic brain injuries. Seeing Justin in the beginning, before being put into the medically induced coma, brought back so many memories. I hope he is doing well.

I feel so sorry for both of the lads. What a sad outcome. I think with a spinal cord injury a happy and fulfilled life is possible, even though it must be hard to come to terms with the life changing injury. But for the lad with the brain injury I feel so so sorry. I used to work in a rehab centre for people with brain injuries and for me that would be the worst injury ever. I hope he made a good recovery and can still enjoy life. All my love goes out to his wife as well.

I think Priya was in culture shock. They did say that in the video when Justin brought her to England the first time of her life. Who really knows how long she's been in England before his accident happened. So she might just not understand & is trying to process the whole thing. She also might of given the doctors permission to let the mother speak for her too.
She also didn't really touch him or talk to him that we see of the camera. Remember it's only a one 45 minute show, so we don't really see the whole story. So quite judging these ladies & doctors. There's a whole behind the scenes we as viewers don't see. The outcome is what is important, IMO!

I can only imagine what it’d be like to get a call saying my significant other was in a motorcycle crash. Being a volunteer firefighter I would probably look and act perfectly calm and collected, going „Right, thanks for letting me know - I will be at the hospital in approximately 20 minutes, traffic permitting, see you there. Cheers, bye“ and go there as fast as I safely can. I’ve been known to become almost machine-like and cold when bad things are happening, to the point of seeming not to care. Which couldn’t be further from the truth. I just try to focus on what I can do right now as opposed to how much of the situation I can’t change.
Regardless, I will be their rock, hold their hand and hold it together when there. But would fall completely apart once I am out of the hospital. Would probably call my parents. Or a friend. Anything to not be alone.
My worst nightmare is to be alerted to my parents‘ address or that of one of my brothers or my partner‘s. When I got my uniform and my other kit, I sent my mum and my partner a photo of me wearing my turnout gear and helmet in front of one of the trucks. Then told her that I hope that this picture will the only occasion that they get to see me wearing this outfit.

I think they talked to the Mum because she was the one with the questions. The one doctor kept looking at her but Prim just looked at the Mum and didn’t say anything. Prim seemed to allow the Mum to take control. This is not any criticism to Prim but could it be a cultural problem.

As a person who uses a wheelchair, walking is over-rated. Society puts far too much emphasis on it. Yes, it took me a while to get to where I am now, acceptance wise. My inability is due to an illness, not a sudden event. Sometimes I wish it had been sudden, then I could have had the decisions already laid out. Instead it was a slow downgrading. But then I realized that I could either "fight" it and endure the pain and the time it took to do stuff, or I could use a chair and have less pain and get things done. i could enjoy life. I chose joy. Life at fart level ain't so bad.

I can say this becuse I was a professional motorcycle racer in all its forms...road racing, motocross, long track and speedway, and over the 15 years I did it, the only time I got hurt was on the rare occasion I drove on the road.
So my view as a husband and dad and a survivor, is this: Riding a motorcycle on the road is the most selfish and stupid things a person can do, and it shows a terminal, self-centredness that ignores one's responsibilities as a friend, husband and father. So I am sorry to say, I have little sympathy for someone who ends up as a cripple and dependent on the care of loved ones. Its condemning them to a lifetime of servitude, and for what? Because the rider likes the buzz and freedom? Sorry. If I was her, I would say, see you later. My child needs a dad who can support us well, and do normal things. Tough? Yes. But its warranted.
