Even if you're not correct, and I'm going with the presumption that you are indeed correct, at least it's a project that covered two videos, thus twice the monetization, and the taxes of a popular UA-camr must be in the higher tax brackets...
this seems like a great thing to bring to some sort of event and let random people try to collectively get as far as possible throughout however long it's held
Oh, nice build. I made a skeeball machine with a couple friends. RasPi powered TV scoreboard, too. It worked great! We took it to Maker Faire in 2012 or 2013. Kids were just hurling the balls down the ramp and cracked the screen. Luckily, we made two so one became the "practice machine"
Adore the creativity on display here! Making it a special feature on a normal skeeball machine is so much better than a dedicated controller. Skeeball % speedrun when?
I've been waiting for Part 2! Yaaaaay! Edit: I had wondered if it was possible to hit the screen with the ball, and apparently you've already answered it.
Now you know you need a screen protector in front of that TV.... This game seems like it might be rage inducing and that TV might be the first target. 😂
I feel like you could have a for fun Pokémon mode were it's just battles and each hole gets a move set, give them more moves than possible to fit the amount of holes, harder holes better attacks? you could even have the next roll determines power/chances. similar to driving ranges that have simulator games.
"We invited Shadypenguinn over to livestream a Nuzlocke challenge on this skeeball machine..." *Stream commences* "HE DID IT EVERYONE! We're coming to you live from Shady's nursing home, where today is a momentous day for him: he finally beat the skeeball Nuzlocke, *and* he's been proclaimed the world's oldest man!"
Lol your facial expressions for building this in the beginning 😂😂 killed me ! Congratulations 👏🏼 on your building skills. Your hired!!!!! Thanks for the for the knowledge!!!
Put a plexiglass screen in front of the TV; I could tell it had the potential to be broken. Also put some triangle wedges so it doesn’t escape off the sides
I recommend adding a sheet of plexiglass over the TV screen so it does not get broken again ^^ And you should totally try doing a let's play series of skiball Pokemon
I think the 1st upgrade should be something to protect the TV like thick plexiglass. Maybe something to prevent wild balls from flying too high. Just in case someone else doesn't know their arm strength. 💪
I loved Skee-ball as a kid. It was the game my grandma also enjoyed so I think I liked it more because of that. When I was maybe 9 years old (around 1999) one morning I was riding my bike around my neighborhood when I saw a garage sale and decided to check it out with the $2 I had in my pocket. I look around for a bit when I see a skee-ball machine in the back of the garage. My mind was blown I didn't know people could just own these. The family had a kid my age as well I was super excited and spent hours playing with them and then they told me they were selling everything because they were moving. I went from thinking I had just made a friend who had a skeeball machine to heartbreak. Not sure why I just randomly remembered that or typed it up but here it is. Anyways I kinda want to find an "original" aka one from the 90s yellow and red machine with the original wood balls and buy it. Just not sure where I would put it in my condo.
It's time to speed run pokemon.... on a skeeball machine! I'm just saying as far as I am aware this is a first meaning all you have to do is beat the game once, and you hold the record for at LEAST a little bit. Still would hold the title of first regardless though!
I would love to see you and Adam Savage of Mythbusters collab on a build. Even if it doesn't make it into videos on either channel, the build itself would be fantastic.
Need some Plexiglas over the display. Probably paint a black square along the border of the Plexiglas to hide the fact that it _is_ just a commercially available TV *and* to hide the fact that it _doesn't_ fit snug into the display box. Hinge the Plexiglas so you can easily open it should you need to replace the TV--again--for whatever reason.
You may want to put some plexy glass infront of the tv just incase theres another pokeball that decides to fly across the room! 😂 It might save you another 100$
@@NFTI ah, makes more sense, the 3d printed one works good enough to replace a missing one I had, but because it's not perfectly round, the throws can be... Unpredictable. I always enjoy your content, keep it up! :)
Time to get a 1 inch thick piece of acrylic to go over the tv . I knew that was going to happen as soon as you said a tv & you don’t protect it . Wow .ya might want to put LED lights inside where the holes are to brighten things up .
The screen is fine without protection if the player is responsible and doesn't yeet them lol And I thought the screen would show a Pokémon in a hole and you catch them, not a controller 😂😂
I personally would have created a separate ball drop from the original game, that dropped Pokéballs instead of the plain balls... But I fully understand why you didn't, coding aside the job it involve... 🤭
Now forgive me if I'm wrong. But I don't see a controller for the switches. Are you just wiring directly to the pie for basic on and off functionality to tell the program to do something? If so. Why would you do that to yourself?

I do my best with bank shots try it
Can I meet you irl nate
They sell data
Bryson used ROCK THROW. It's super effective! Enemy PISCREEN fainted!
I absolutely knew that ball was going to break the screen. I may suggest that you protect it with some Plexiglas haha.
The key is not trying to throw it straight into the holes and bypassing the ramp.
@@NFTI But I mean, never let them know your next move
@@NFTI yes but people will try to do just that in the _heat of the competition_
Exactly my predictions and thoughts as well
@@NFTIThat seems like a ridiculous and totally impractical suggestion.
I think Nate just REALLY wanted a skee ball machine, and needed a tax write off for a business expense. 😂🤣😂
I mean he's a youtuber, he can do that. He can also...get a LOT of business credit card reward points 😅
Even if you're not correct, and I'm going with the presumption that you are indeed correct, at least it's a project that covered two videos, thus twice the monetization, and the taxes of a popular UA-camr must be in the higher tax brackets...
Skeeball was always one of my favorite machines at the arcade, seeing it themed in pokemon is so cool. It looks so fun 😆
Might want some plexiglass in front of that tv 😂 I saw that breaking as soon as you put it up there
Just when I though it was buried in the annals of the internet, Nate comes along with...."Leeeerooooooooooy Jenkins!!!"
I absolutely love this. My only concern got taken care of by Bryson when he......determined a new monitor was in order.
This was a lot of fun to watch. You looked like you had so much fun building and playing.
Par for the course: finds the glasses while looking for the glue
The projector tracing was so smart!
this seems like a great thing to bring to some sort of event and let random people try to collectively get as far as possible throughout however long it's held

I think Bryson did a cracking job! Nate did an amazing job too of course. 🤣
Keep up the great content 😁👍
It’s just me but after the first time that screen got Bryson’d, I definitely would invest in a piece of acrylic cover to shield the screen 😂
What a cool build! I never got into pokemon but i love skee ball. I love seeing projects come together.
I'm glad you are still doing creative and thought-provoking projects. I miss TKOR and the King himself, but you've always kept his legacy alive.
Adore the creativity on display here! Making it a special feature on a normal skeeball machine is so much better than a dedicated controller. Skeeball % speedrun when?
I absolutely loved this there needs to be more collab
I request one of the score-sounds be changed to, “my child!”
The new King of Random, you fill Grant's shoes well! Love you nate!❤
Man, an old fashioned TTL logic setup with 7 segment LED displays would be way cooler.
What a cute arcade style niche channel I hope to see more fun stuff in the future!
I've been waiting for Part 2! Yaaaaay!
Edit: I had wondered if it was possible to hit the screen with the ball, and apparently you've already answered it.
Me as nate is building the screen box: Really hope he's putting plexiglass in front of that. Me after Bryson's test round: ope.
Now you know you need a screen protector in front of that TV.... This game seems like it might be rage inducing and that TV might be the first target. 😂

You should invite a speed runner over and have them try a speedrun on it!
OR EVEN A NUZLOCK
"We invited Shadypenguinn over to livestream a Nuzlocke challenge on this skeeball machine..."
*Stream commences*
"HE DID IT EVERYONE! We're coming to you live from Shady's nursing home, where today is a momentous day for him: he finally beat the skeeball Nuzlocke, *and* he's been proclaimed the world's oldest man!"
simple improvement. You should put some acrylic glass in front of the screen to avoid braking your monitor again. great video, love it.

You need lights under the tv, make em fun for bonus points, ot just plain to see the targets. Plexiglass over tv
🤣🤣🤣 keeping the random alive 🙌
Finally Part 2, this was amazing!
I’ve been waiting so long for this
I would've named it Poke-Skee-Ball lol
Yes! I've been waiting for part 2!
This was soo cool! 😂 Love it, looks like such a blast to play!
Wow just wow very impressive
I’ve been waiting and I’m glad it’s finally here
I would recommend putting plexiglass about 1 inch in front of the tv
I think the 1st upgrade should be something to protect the TV like thick plexiglass. Maybe something to prevent wild balls from flying too high. Just in case someone else doesn't know their arm strength. 💪
OMG when Bryson broke the screen!

6:38 ive done that lol i was like "Y U NO WERK!!" Just to realize im dunb.
Might want to put up a piece of acrylic as a screen protector.
How is Nate always so cool
More knife making videos would be fun to watch. Also, more videos where you 3d print stuff
I kinda imagined that the special mode would be Pokemon Go with a random Pokemon, where the higer point holes increase the odd of capturing it.
It was so much fun watching this. I wanna play
THE PRINCE OF RANDOM!!!
Dark Souls Skeeball when? 😅
Tbh it has been so long that I forgot that this skiball build was even a thing.
It's time to speed run pokemon.... on a skeeball machine!
I'm just saying as far as I am aware this is a first meaning all you have to do is beat the game once, and you hold the record for at LEAST a little bit. Still would hold the title of first regardless though!
Nice work!
Now to paint all the skeeballs like various pokeballs.
I have those same Amazon Basic Speakers lol. I saw them and was like "he did not use Amazon Basic Speakers but double took and yeah, you did"
I would love to see you and Adam Savage of Mythbusters collab on a build. Even if it doesn't make it into videos on either channel, the build itself would be fantastic.
Bro this guy is building a bachelor dream house like for real for real lol
Where's the giant Game Boy Colour from the thumbnail Nate? Is it safe? Is it alright?
Just blame everything being messy and out of place on Calli lol
10:28 best part
12:29 whoopsie hahahahahah

12:29 RIP
I think nate should do a gameplay of the whole game.
It's crazy to see that TKOR fired you but now your channel is doing better than there's😂😂😂
You may want to put some plexy glass infront of the tv just incase theres another pokeball that decides to fly across the room! 😂 It might save you another 100$
Add a protectional wall so the ball doesnt break the screen
I would suggest some kind of protection for the screen. Otherwise you did an amazing job!!!
lol this is great to see that I'm not the only one to use a 3D printed pokeball for a home skeeball machine
The ball was wood, painted to look like a pokeball!
@@NFTI ah, makes more sense, the 3d printed one works good enough to replace a missing one I had, but because it's not perfectly round, the throws can be... Unpredictable. I always enjoy your content, keep it up! :)

I am guessing a protection cover for the score screen is in order
Nate,
Can you please find the blueprint from that bedframe that you made back in your TKOR days?
This was really neat!
Never been this early to a Nate video
Now to make a ball launcher that can accurately make the center shots to play Pokemon on a controller again. Or another convoluted game ;)
Perhaps something that gives the ball some kind of forward controlled roll.
Harder than twitch plays Pokemon 🤣🤣🤣
I do my best with bank shots
A screen protector should be apart of the next update
should put a peace of plexiglass over the tv and the rings that way people cant hit the tv/cheat the rings plus they can still see whats going on
The screen is fine without protection if the player is responsible and doesn't yeet them lol
And I thought the screen would show a Pokémon in a hole and you catch them, not a controller 😂😂
Awsome
Might want to put a screen over the tv
Part two? Either it was so long ago where I never got to watch it.
isn't there supposed to be a plexiglass sheet covering half or more of the scoring area?
❤
Now get a shiny with this😂
You should have been a mythbuster just saying
One suggestion, find a way to protect the TV screen.
Maybe a screen directly above where you are throwing balls is not a great idea
It would be extra cool if you paint the balls to look like pokeballs
And now you know why real skeeball machines have acrylic in front of their screens, with a gap between...
I personally would have created a separate ball drop from the original game, that dropped Pokéballs instead of the plain balls... But I fully understand why you didn't, coding aside the job it involve... 🤭

This is why I had Bryson. I don't even know what you mean.
Putting a plexiglass cover over the tv might save the screen...
Maybe plexiglass the tv box.
1:29 what is that tool? it looks like an orbital sander but square?
It's an orbital sander, but square.
and thats why you roll the ball not throw it xD
